My granddad used to sing this around me but replaced Denise with my name. It's taken me years to find this song. I was 8 when he first did it, I'm now 21. It's been nearly a year since he's been gone. I miss him and I'm glad I found this to remember him.
Music is the mile markers of life. Some songs are like Time Machines that transport Us to different place in Time✌❤🤗
Debbie is wow wow and one very beautiful lady and a brilliant singer and performer
No auto tune. Real stuff. Back when New York was REALLY New York. I miss those days.
Punk singing is ageless. Even at 72 she is still singing punk-it’s about the message. That is Beautiful.
She was hardly punk
Boys wanted her, girls wanted to be her ❤️❤️
Sure some girls wanted her too.😊
This is one of the few cover songs where I like both the original and the cover. This is a cover of an old late 50s or early 60s song called Denise Denise, I want to say by Randy & The Rainbows .
Isn't that a bran van 3000 lyric!'
@@timthegallanthey I’m a straight woman and I thought she was gorgeous! Every girl wanted to be Debbie Harry lol
Well I was 9 and had a girlcrush on her 💖
They were not just pretty faces, they made great music. This is my favourite
When you say Blondie people tend to think of Debbie Harry but the band was pretty good too. The French also adds a bit of " Je ne sais quoi ".
it is a cover
@@thendanceon Jais sais quoi! Ces't le meme du Brigette Bardot! Viva les femmes!
Pretty Faces? Debbie is the only pretty face in the band.
Um, Chris Stein was and still is very handsome.
This is where my love for Debbie started and it hasn’t stopped yet ❤
What a gorgeous woman. Perfect facial features.
Imagine, A.I. already existed at that time !
I have loved her since 1970’s and I’m a girl 🥰🥰🥰🥰🇬🇧
She was gorgeous and could sing and flaunt her stuff because she is brilliant.
Was, still is even now
I saw an old film of them before they were famous, in some dive bar in New York or somewhere, and though it pains me to say it, they were f*cking awful!
@@christopherdean1326 I've lived around the music industry all my life and sometimes it just ain't pretty.
Debbie was so adorable lol. Such a cool, unaffected person. To be blessed with those looks & that talent, incredible. & be lucky enough to be adopted by people that didn't destroy her before she had a chance. We are so lucky to still have her & Blondie going strong.
hey she is still alive and full of power
@@danielzaouer3308 Nobody says that she's dead. Please read the last sentence of the original comment. Thanks.
I liked your comment) ♥

This was my brother Andy’s favourite song will never forget the last time I saw him in hospital I gave him a kiss on his head and said goodbye mate and walked away with tears in my eyes we will always miss you Andy rest in peace 😇👍.
How sad and lovely it is . May God bless his soul 😔
I'm sorry to hear that. I don't know you or your family, but I feel your loss.
your brother had good taste.
Ray what a touching story god bless to Andy best wishes to you .
Your bro had taste!
Love this song. 80's and 70's music is the best
It’s original is from the 60s
80s and 90s
My boyfriend always played this for me at all our parties when everyone was on the dance floor. Good times great memories
Dennis the menace should have cut his hair... Before Peroxide Blonde Julie Newmar started giving Cat Woman lessons to Subway travelers.
......and *Dreaming* :O)
That lady simply blew me away in 1978 & she still does.
😊
Fantastic Voice, Beautiful Woman, and a Great Band!!!
vamos começar a apluadir
I love that this song has a simultaneous key change and language change
She's everything Madonna is not.
John Kennedy Amen
or Ever Could Be!
👍🤣🤣🤣🤣
So, sane then.
Couldn't have put it better.
This song was released in 1978 when I was a 15 year old school boy. All my friends and I thought it was great! We all rushed out to buy it and were glued to the television when it came on Top of the Tops.
Clem Burke is an awesome drummer.....what an animal! In a great sense. There would be no Blondie without Deborah and Clem!!! Rock on and thanks for the 40+ years of memories!
The greatest
Me, as a drummer, also think that he held the act together - great drummer
its honestly funny how very basic this song is and he's still going ham on the fills but not in a way that takes over the whole thing, its just enough. every bit as good as the most heralded drummers of this era like stewart copeland
Just saw Blondie last week. Clem is still a beast.
Burke is killing it😊used to listen to this on vinyl…drums sound like machine gun…
so sweet..feminine..and great heart Deborah Harry..respect..
one of the best and beautiful rock singer..Deborah Harry...
Das Lied Ist Gut Mein Name
I know the band don't think this song is mature enough to play these days but I wish they understood that here in the UK it was with this track that everyone in the country fell in love with Debbie and with Blondie. It is one of THE BEST POP RECORDS OF ALL TIME...2 minutes and 15 seconds is never ever enough so you always want to hear it again....and again...and again...no audience will ever NOT want to hear this track in the UK. We loved it then and we love it now.
Redcrop Uk One thing wrong with what you just said, however...
Guess I read in her book Making Tracks that it was her idea to do this cover. The band members were not exactly enthusiastic, so it's to Debbie's great credit that it worked and it put them on the map.
You are SO right i could not have put it any better myself so loved in the U.K this song they played at glastonbury in 1999 seen it on here the audience went bonkers!!
Redcrop UK you do know that this is a cover of the 60's hit, Denise by Randy and the Rainbows.
@@automotivel3501 Hi fella yes i checked out the randy and the rainbows original few years back it's cool reminded me of the beach boys.
Debbie Harry - One of the coolest chicks ever!
Remove the first 3 words.
?
Debbie is cool without trying to be cool and that makes her very cool.
She was brilliant.
Some say hot, others say cool.
This classic Blondie song always reminds me of my blue-eyed old dad, Denis who died on April Fool’s Day 2020 at the ripe old age of 80.
Im 80 years old and I am thinking about selling my record collection ! BUT this is one Album I will keep for ever. If not longer !
Gaaaaaah she's so beautiful. She looks like a cover out of Italian Vogue here.
GracefulDanny She was 33 yrs old as well in this video.
+bingbong in 1978, 37yrs ago OMG.
+bingbong She's 71 this year. Makes you feel old.
+GracefulDanny She used to be a playboy bunny...
+michael richard she did pose nude at one time think for playboy ?
She's so beautiful, damn i love her!
beautiful, great, great voice, great singer, it's just Blondie
And her ever famous supporting instrumentalists, hugely talented all of them.
Perfect facial features. The lips alone are a masterpiece
Arno Breker should had made a statue of her. Or two.
SSShhhh ....
That's Her 'SECRET [Marketing] WEAPON' ! ! !
❤ 😂
Im 71,and man shes still my fantasy, and what a doll
They dont make stars like this anymore. She is dropdead beautyful.
Debbie looked like my wife of only ten years, Beth. She was taken from us 35 years ago. I never remarried or had a woman live with me since. When I hear and watch Blondie videos, I remember the most wonderfull days of my long life. Thanks for the memorys, time to burn a blunt.
You had something amazing … with an amazing woman. To short a time …. yes , but you will have eternity together. God bless.
Beautiful post man.
that's lovely thanks for sharing.. be safe and healthy in these times. Bill from Scotland x
sorry for your loss buddy you will meet again
This is beautiful
Once again the drumming of Clem Burke elevates a great pop tune to another level ! He is fantastic!
I'm sure that Clems' drumming was inspired by Buddy Holly's drummer Jerry Allison...who sadly died last week.
He and Rick Buckler of the Jam were the two more energic and dynamic drummers of that period, and still speaking of the early days. Others were good (P. Cook, Rat Scabies, Jet Black, Marky R., etc) but these two marked rythm with an intensity that was another show aside/along the song (not a sideshow). Elevation is the right word.
No doubt the most beautiful, talented woman in history.
i do agree with you, sue q, not bad.
What about Kate Bush?
@Siegfried Alemeir one great song? You sir are taking the piss! 🤣
She has at least 10 great hit songs (obviously not in the USA) and those songs could easily challenge any song by Blondie, or any other female singer!
Album wise, she's already got them beat 😉
Don't take it the wrong way, I'm a massive fan of both 😎
CERTAINLY WAY MORE TALENTED THAN MADONNA
Love 1:09 when Nigel and Frank smile at each other. They're having so much fun!
Who is with me still in love with blondie in 2019.?
H.I.K. Caveman me
♥ We are millions since 40 years ! and of course all the Denis :-) ♥

Yep...Sue in Telford. I'm 63.

Nobody does it like Debbie, she has it all to perfection and moves it so well, love the playful microphone at 1.38.
MY FAVORITE BLONDIE ALL THE TIME , SINCE MY TEENAGE, LOVE HER STYLE,SHE STAYS NUMBER ONE 🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷
0:07 What's unique about her is that she is extraordinarily photogenic. Apart from her natural beauty, the camera is able to capture her relaxing and playful personality. It's as if she is right next to me talking to me.
Such a good version. Just as good as the original ❤️ love this band forever
Loved this
You can't go wrong with a 60s classic 😉
My first big crush... Love her.
70's & 80's best decades ever for music still hits today brilliant
lol i switch to subtitles in hope to understand the "other language" but only get the info that its "other language" very usefull really XD
WOW!!!
That is a lovely outfit shes got on under that coat!
She blows Randy & the Rainbows RIGHT OFF THE MAP!
I love you too!

This type of song and environment will never come back again !
Happy 75th to Debbie Rock goddess and icon!
75? Don't be silly, that's impossible. Oh .... hang on, I'm 73. Bugger.
Complete babe, pure and simple.
She is anything but simple.
45 years on and STILL that video stirs boyhood memories... timeless
Debbie is definitively one of those people who trascend sexuality. Like, who in their right mind would say no to this goddess
Had a major crush on her back in the day.Lucky to see Blondie live way back then.Went with my best mate, and were both in heaven. This is a band of very talented muscians and songwriters. And Blondie herself is a great, great singer and front woman. That should be enough. But No!!.She just happens to be one of the most beautiful, and caring humans on this big old planet of ours
yep and sacrificed her looks and health to look after Chris
Habe die Single von meiner grossen Liebe Jürgen bekommen. War eine kurze aber schöne Zeit.
In this amazing song, she look very beautiful.
Absolute perfection........And the song isn't too bad also!
When god created the perfect women he made Blondie! Yes!
Merci Blondie !!!
Blondie made brilliant work of this song!! It's got elements of PowerPop (the guitars), & punk (the drums).
What a great version of this classic song . Hail to all girls named Denise ! We love you !
That woman is absolutely gorgeous
Rik is Major Drama typical Libraface
Gorgeous!!
Sara Rodrigues now, in her seventies, she still is...
I first heard this in a record shop ( so old ) in Amsterdam in 1977 with my girlfriend now my wife, and now my grand kids love it.
Good art is timeless.
Debbie Harry one of the most beautiful woman to ever walk the Earth
Hottest female singer ever, bar none.
Except for Lita Ford
Michael CUNNINGHAM LF has Ugly teeth
Well, I was referring to '80s Lita.
I like laura branigan ;)
She might be in the top 20!!!
I love it still ! she was so beautiful ! : ))
Now I'm not suggesting anything but when Debbie holds the mike at 1:33 Every boy, man fell to their knees watching Top Of The Pops in winter 1978 in the UK. My dad would say to my mother can you go get another log for the fire, even though we had an electric fire when Debbie come on TV.
+65rowan Well except for they gay boys, men, and fathers.
Nostalgia
Back then we had a magazine called Hit Parader and she was on the cover and inside wearing leopard tights, shorts etc - funny that i cannot find those photos today yet surely they exist, i bought it back then and masturbated for months looking at it and linda ronstadt's album covers LOL!!
Man we had almost no female nudity in the 70's that was easily available did we , any glimpse of a girl's body drove us nuts LoL again!
I didn't need any heating in the room. She was SMOKING! So hot I cried myself to sleep.
What about 0:06? That perfect face 😶 I'm in love 😍
Great band and the No 1 front woman ever. Just gorgeous and a really distinctive voice too.
Love this band. Their popular songs are great, but it's nuggets like these that I enjoy listening to.
This song was my favourite as a 15 year old kid & every time I hear it takes me back to a special time & place.
I'm old enough to remember Randy & the Rainbow's original, but they never looked half as good as Debbie and the boys! One of the GREAT things about all those original "punk/new-wavers" was their love for early 60's smashes, and I'll take Randy & the Rainbows, the Rivieras, Gene Pitney, Roy Orbison, Del Shannon, the Shangri-La's, the Crystals, the Ronettes, and Lou Christie over Led Bedpan, Sh*t Cargo, James Taylor, Yes, ELP, and all that other gawdawful "classic rock" each and every day of the week!
Gorgeous woman. Great tune.
Deborah Harry is STILL a great looking lady today! Little did I know that the band did a lot of covers from the 50''s & 60's era. They did a great job, especially "Denis", which Randy & the Rainbows did called " Denise". Deborah loved the oldies!
That's what I was about to say. Ive heard Denise from Randy and the rainbows before this. And I hear this version and its pretty awesome for it's punk flavor. I think the rock bands at that time can definitely do good remakes of the 60's era ya dig 👍
Yep, great song! Then Randy and the rainbows did a tribute song called Debby Debby. It’s awesome!!!
Blondie did a great job with Buddy's "I'm gonna love you too"
And what are you smoking buddy if you think she is still good she is a train wreck buddy she is in her 70’s but looks more like her 80’s
Best rock band ever. The bonus some french lyrics
I liked Blondie back in the day- not a fanatic but very listenable. I never knew they did Denise and she does it awesomely . Its catchy and poppy and reflects the fun nature of the song in a modern interpretation. Tough to capture such a classic and modernize it with the respect it deserves but Debbie pulled it off nicely. Was nice to see it brought back Randy and the boys due to its success as well- nice story. RIP Randy.
Here in the UK Denis reached the number 2 position in the British charts and stayed there for weeks and weeks. It was what launched Blondie and Debbie Harry in my country and was a Europe wide smash hit at the same time. I think America came on board a year later when Heart of Glass was released in the States. For me and many others over here this song transports us back to when we first fell in love with Blondie and their stunning lead singer. Makes me happy to know that Americans are discovering some of Blondies early songs today.
What a track! In the charts when I was leaving school in 77. Thought she was gorgeous and still do. Some memories last forever...
Boy they sure do!
I love when she switches to french ,,,
I don't want to say that Debbie excited me when I was a teenager, but she did!!! :-) xx
I love her pretty face, her sweet voice, her amazing body. Everything on her looks perfect, one of my favorite singer. 🎉
I remember the second I fell in love with Debbie watching this video more than forty years ago. Still do.
You just can't resist Debbie and Blondie
She was absolutely drop dead gorgeous and a pin Up model on most boys bedroom Wall's along with Suzie Quatro and i make this comment with absolute respect they were both beautiful girls and top singer's ❤❤
Punk Rock never looked so good.....Blondie ruled the music scene for two decades.....Hottest ticket on the East Coast.....
Blondie overload and I’m happy in my time machine.
Adorable xxxx
THE most perfect pair of lips EVER...
Which ones?
@Gemma Moe But..... WHY? I like the song, and I really like her beautiful, perfect lips. Sad to say, but her lips are not AT ALL so pretty any more. This is just something that happens to most women. Not so much Women of Color, but hey, we must all, to some extent, play the cards we were dealt. I just wish I was dealt a TINY AMOUNT of the luck Debbie received! ! ! ! ! Lucky Lucky Lucky. So now I shall just go cry into my pillow..... whaaaa
pair of lips, eyes, nostrils, and everything else!
Can't see her naked in this video... how can you say that ?
@@MrToonfish you nasty, man
My favourite song from her ever... My heart still misses a beat everytime I watch this. 💔
Does it still hurt?
This Blondie video is the very moment Debbie Harry found herself a permanent home in my heart back in the summer of '78.
She is just a legend. I love travis
I'm still in love after 41 years. Fantastic
When she sings in French and blows the kiss. Sorry guys, but she doing that to me. Eat your hearts out. lol
No that’s kiss was, is and always mine
I was in my teens, had a lot of her singles. LONG LIVE BLONDIE!
Big nice song ❤
Thanks for the remaster. Now I can watch Debbie's beauty in HD.
Thanx Deb, u gave my son a name. Love this song. X
Oh, Debbie, ooh-be-doo, I'm in love with you.
BTW, to any skeptics, I wrote "Debbie" on purpose because I think the lead singer Debbie Harry is attractive. I friggin' know the song title is "Denis." I even took French for three years, so I understand some of what she said in the last verse.
FloBraMan ur so lucky
MrsLukeArnold I just find her attractive. I've never met her. BTW, check out my tribute vid I made for her birthday on my channel.
FloBraMan Who doesn't? She's pure class.
@@StarWarriorCentral The original from 1963 is actually called Denise, but it doesn't matter in this case, since Debbie is singing. Just a bit of information sorry if I seem like bragging.
Clem never made it easy for himself but he played the drums perfect.
Maybe one of the best pop drummers ever.
Love the voice of Debbie, she is pretty and also full of energy
