    Brooks was my biggest surprise. Mostly in the road space but even the new catamount looks great. Like they’re finally stepping out and still appear to have that Toyota like reliability they are known for.

      Yes I was saying this last year and it's fun to finally start to see it, but Brooks is about to get fun! I wish I took some video, but the upcoming Hyperion Max 3 super trainer looks fantastic

    Pulsar hype! Thought both the Ride and Pulsar Pro were dead in the water. Stoked if they can blend the best of both and keep them alive

      @ConversationalPace  22 часа назад +1

      The new Pulsar feels like it's going to be an awesome blend of ride, thundercross, and old Pulsar. The new s/lab Pulsar 4 gained a little stack and cushion, which should make it a little more accessible to longer distances

    Great conversation but regarding the last bit about trail "super shoes" and "keeping you healthy". No shoe has ever been shown to reduce injury in runners. The research has been very clear on that for a long time. Shoes do not keep you from getting injured.

    • @ConversationalPace
      @ConversationalPace  10 часов назад +1

      that research was very clear until the invention of super foams. I think in coming years when new studies get published, we are about to see these new foams are contributing quite a bit towards the reasoning why we're seeing world records and course records being broken so often. More people are able to train more than they ever have in a more sustainable way.

    • @ThatFlowState
      @ThatFlowState 10 часов назад

      @@ConversationalPace Perhaps, but right now that's just speculation. It could also be due to a better understanding of load management and an increased pool of elite caliber athletes in a growing sport. As far as I'm aware the injury rate in road runners has not significantly changed in the last few years, despite the proliferation of super foams. I''d happily be wrong, because getting injured sucks but right now I'm highly sceptical.

    Satisfy apparel is insanely expensive. Who can afford $220 for a pair of running shorts? That’s nuts. Who buys this stuff Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos?

    • @Loco5919
      @Loco5919 День назад +5

      Trust fund kids, but you gotta have a market for everyone, cant hate on it. If they charge it and people will buy it, more power to them

    • @finnmelanson
      @finnmelanson День назад +4

      I think there's something to be said for actually valuing each stage of the supply chain - picking the best materials, paying adequate labor wages, factoring socio-environmental costs, etc..and when you do that, the veil is sometimes lifted on how much things actually cost

    • @rizzomatt
      @rizzomatt 23 часа назад +2

      @@finnmelanson Other companies have those principles and don’t charge $220 for a pair of shorts. 🤷🏼‍♂️

    • @ConversationalPace
      @ConversationalPace  22 часа назад +1

      I feel like every industry has hyper expensive luxury brands, as there's always going to be a market for it. Trail just hasn't had that before and it's certainly weird feeling that it exists, but it's filling a gap in the market and if anything, it'd be weird if they released cheaper apparel at this point. They gotta stick to their branding 😅
