    Incredible once again.
    It could be interesting to have a series such as Opening Idea of the Month/Chess Recipes from the Grandmaster's Kitchen where you can share practical/not-well-known/tricky/well-scoring lines in whatever opening you want but not necessarily cover everything in one given opening like with this video (so less effort from your side but still very interesting).
    Thank you for your work.

    So at 2:44 after playing ...e5, Queen exchanges, ..Bg4, 0-0-0 followed by ...Nfe7-g6 recapturing the e5 pawn, as you suggest, this looks very drawish with a symmetrical pawn structure, if as Black I'm playing to win. I prefer the ...Nf6 lines which are more unbalanced.

    Hey, Alex, I really enjoyed this treatment on combating the c3 Sicilian👍. I'll have to watch again and again this video so that I can play this line, without the aid of the Move-Trainer 😏. I want to ask you what you think about the ...Nf6 e5 Nd5 line as well?

    • @gmalexcolovic
      @gmalexcolovic  2 месяца назад

      Thank you! Yes, 2...Nf6 is the other main move and the one I've played more often than 2...d5. But it's more difficult to "wrap up" like the variation in this video - some lines are more susceptible to "simplification" than others.

    Very straightforward and practical solution! It’s not really to my taste but the way you presented it was simple and concise. Are you planning to do more simplified openings (maybe for white) in the future?

      He has 2 awesome courses for white (d4 and e4) on chessable. The videos are very expensive, but for 30 € you get great stuff without video but you can read and do the move trainer.

    Hi there Alex. Another interesting opening idea. I recently tried an associated line against an FM - instead of 5...Nc6, I played 5...e5 6.Nf3 exd4 7.Qxd4 Nf6 8.Nc3 Qe6+ and got a quick, solid draw. It doesn't allow for complications (or a win), but very little chance of losing! I look forward to next week's video.

      Thanks for pointing this out! I've never really paid attention to that line, but now I had a quick look and it does seem pretty convincing to kill off the game. I will note this for myself. :)

      Can you show that line you're talking about, where you played 5..e5?

    • @garyglad
      @garyglad 2 месяца назад

      @@PatzersOpeningRulz Sure! The game went as follows: 1.e4 c5 2.c3 d5 3.exd5 Qxd5 4.d4 cxd4 5.cxd4 e5 6.Nf3 exd4 7.Qxd4 Nf6 (8...Qxd4 9.Nxd4 Bb4 is also playable at +0.15 according to Stockfish) 8.Nc3 Qe6+ 9.Be2 Nc6 10.Qa4 Qg4 11.Qxg4 Bxg4 12.h3 Bxf3 13.Bxf3 Nd4 14.Bd1 Bc5 15.Ba4+ Ke7 and a draw soon followed, with Stockfish evaluating this as +0.10.

    Hey, Alex... at 4:23, what is a good plan that black can try to break the symmetry and maybe even go for an advantage

    • @gmalexcolovic
      @gmalexcolovic  2 месяца назад

      Ah, well, that's not really possible I'm afraid. If White just wants to kill the game off he is able to do so and Black cannot do much about it, except perhaps claiming a moral victory. These possibilities exist in all openings, so it's a fact of life Black must accept.

    • @PatzersOpeningRulz
      @PatzersOpeningRulz 2 месяца назад

      @@gmalexcolovic Totally understand you 👍. Maybe, because of this fact, black should consider the popular line e4 c5 c3 Nf6 e5 Nd5, to get a more complex middle-game situation with winning chances for black?

    • @gmalexcolovic
      @gmalexcolovic  2 месяца назад

      @@PatzersOpeningRulz Yes, or try another line after 2...d5. Though, truth be said, White is able to kill the game off in almost all the lines of the Alapin, so it's a matter of taste for Black which "dead" position he'd prefer to play. :)
