I am a 70 year old American. I loved Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth ALL my life. Hot tears covered my cheeks when I heard of her death and the passing of an Era. She was my beloved queen too. Many Americans feel the loss along with our British cousins.
I am your age and I am certainly one of those who held her as Queen in my heart. I must have watched her coronation 5 or 6 times. I collected her Christmas speeches and other documentaries about her and her love and care for her people. What a wonderful, wonderful lady.

I’m an American, but I so miss THE Queen. It’s still brings tears to my eyes when I see things about her. She was such a pretty, lovely woman, who exuded dignity and majesty. And as I understand it, had such a great sense of humor that they could often hear her laughter resounding throughout Buckingham Palace. Love seeing pictures of her laughing! She really modeled commitment, compassion, humility, a great work ethic, duty, faith, and integrity. Truly a rare treasure of a person - especially to be found in leadership. She grew and matured in these qualities as the years went by as most of us hope to. Great Britain was blessed to have had her. And she showed how a true constitutional monarchy can be of great value to its people.

I agree with you and I'm an American. I have UK roots with my paternal grandparents. QEII was the only queen for so many. I was born in 1956, and she was all I have known. My grandmother always followed what was going on in the UK. I, too, believe that this will pass in time.
My own mother passed away last year. I still get teary and can’t get used to her not being here. I have an advantage over King Charles. None of my children or grandchildren disrespected my mother. We all grieved together as a family. My Mum will be looking down on us and smiling and sadly it seems that Harry is so clueless that he included in his speech this week, that is in denial about his disrespect towards his grandparents, his father and brother. It’s a shame there’s no one to tell him that he should be apologising and showing remorse. Not making public statements about how his grandmother would be proud of him. Another American here…. I heard the news on the car radio as I was driving over a bridge. It was the day before my birthday. I spent most of my birthday in tears, watching the coverage on the BBC World.
I had just regained consciousness from oral surgery when my friend and driver told me the Queen had passed. I was still half out of it and it seemed very surreal. We watched the coverage from my friend's home while she kept an eye on post-surgical me for the requisite three hours.

I never met the Queen, but as part of the Commonwealth and seeing her on her official duties, she was an inspiration to me, and example that I didn't have to be like my mum, give up a career when I married and had kids, I saw myself as being able to have and do both, and I did, I became a nurse and had a long and satisfying career. In Australia where we live a days drive from relatives, I only saw my grandparents on rare occasions and seeing the Queen on tv, she seemed to be so relatable, like a grandmother to me.... How a wonderful charity like WellChild thinks its a good idea to have a drug addict and proven liar as a Patron or even a speaker at this event is beyond me.

I was driving home from York and just burst into tears. I still start crying whenever I see any clips from the funeral, or the procession through Scotland or anything. It is just such a profound loss.
I remember feeding devastated when I saw the last picture of HM Queen Elizabeth II. I think I knew at that something was very wrong. I kept checking reports over the next hours. I wasn’t surprised when we learned things were going downhill fast. The amount of respect that I have for HM is immense. She vowed to live her life in service and she did to the very end. I hope and pray that HM and Prince Philip are now resting quietly together in peace.

I am in floods of tears. I am American but have closely watched the Royals all of my adult life. I miss the late Queen far more than I ever thought I would. I think what makes me the most sad is what she must have went through because of the actions of the one time spares - Andrew and Harry. I think I and a lot of other people would be far more at peace with the Queen and Prince Phillips passing if the dark clouds the one time spares hung over their heads hadn't happened. It is clear that Harry is not and probably never will be sorry for the pain and anguish he and his wife have caused. Hard to say with Andrew but given his insistence that he should be allowed to return to duties tells you all you need to know. Sad, sad state of affairs. I wish nothing but the best for those in the Royal Family who are trying to carry on as her majesty would have wished.
Totally agree with Richard, sadly Harry is no longer the right person to be a figurehead for Invictus. He can't seem to get away from trying to draw the attention to himself, and towards the athletes and the mission. There are many inspirational leaders with the lived experience of overcoming trauma from serving that could step forward - maybe even an honorary chair each year.
In my 10+ years of doing adaptive sports, the Sussexes are the only non athletes to draw attention to and talk about themselves. Promotional materials, the event, all media coverage focuses on the athletes. The exposure from this coverage is critical for athletes to attract sponsors and win competitive grants. While there are athletes in the promo, every one of them is defeated in competition by Harry. In the final game he faces his top rival: Meghan. That promo's insulting, ableist propaganda. I stopped reading Invictus interviews because Harry only spoke about Harry, as he did in his speech, and the 30 minutes he gave himself in the doc for every 5 minutes given an athlete. Harry doesn't understand that he will never be seen as a role model by any athlete with disabilities. It's a shame he doesn't have the empathy or humility to realize that Invictus athletes have so much they could teach him.
The RF should completely ignore Harry. I can't believe that after all the malicious damage he has caused the family, that he could be so calm and demand an apology from them. A man who cared deeply for her I think like she was his own daughter. That man was Winston Churchill. She learned very quickly how to reign, be a wife and mother all at the same time. She was beautiful and elegant yet a simple country woman who loved her horses and dogs. So many things wrapped up into one woman and yet she was so majestic and regal and so simple and resilient. From Tartans, hunting and horseback riding to ball gowns, jewelry and Tiaras. She was magnificent and truly an icon who is missed. 💔💔

I'm sure that they're sitting side by side watching everything that's going on. Obviously, I didn't know either one of them, but I think that Prince Phillip would say that enough is enough. I am a 70 year old American. I loved Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth ALL my life. Hot tears covered my cheeks when I heard of her death and the passing of an Era. She was my beloved queen too. Many Americans feel the loss along with our British cousins.
I am your age and I am certainly one of those who held her as Queen in my heart. I must have watched her coronation 5 or 6 times. I collected her Christmas speeches and other documentaries about her and her love and care for her people. What a wonderful, wonderful lady.

With the marriage of the Prince Charles & Diana. My first heartbreak was Princess Diana. Our family was celebrating a marriage in my children's life when the news just astounded everyone. QEII legacy is worldwide. I believe she was one of the greatest queens of our lifetime.

I’m an American, but I so miss THE Queen. It’s still brings tears to my eyes when I see things about her. She was such a pretty, lovely woman, who exuded dignity and majesty. And as I understand it, had such a great sense of humor that they could often hear her laughter resounding throughout Buckingham Palace. Love seeing pictures of her laughing! She really modeled commitment, compassion, humility, a great work ethic, duty, faith, and integrity. Truly a rare treasure of a person - especially to be found in leadership. She grew and matured in these qualities as the years went by as most of us hope to. Great Britain was blessed to have had her. And she showed how a true constitutional monarchy can be of great value to its people.

But if i was in that position I would show the world alor more by clining more and more together showing the world that we still love each other, and no one could keep us apart. I agree with you and I'm an American. I have UK roots with my paternal grandparents. QEII was the only queen for so many. I was born in 1956, and she was all I have known. My grandmother always followed what was going on in the UK. I, too, believe that this will pass in time.
My own mother passed away last year. I still get teary and can’t get used to her not being here. I have an advantage over King Charles. None of my children or grandchildren disrespected my mother. We all grieved together as a family. My Mum will be looking down on us and smiling and sadly it seems that Harry is so clueless that he included in his speech this week, that is in denial about his disrespect towards his grandparents, his father and brother. It’s a shame there’s no one to tell him that he should be apologising and showing remorse. Not making public statements about how his grandmother would be proud of him. Another American here…. I heard the news on the car radio as I was driving over a bridge. It was the day before my birthday. I spent most of my birthday in tears, watching the coverage on the BBC World.
I had just regained consciousness from oral surgery when my friend and driver told me the Queen had passed. I was still half out of it and it seemed very surreal. We watched the coverage from my friend's home while she kept an eye on post-surgical me for the requisite three hours.

I remember feeding devastated when I saw the last picture of HM Queen Elizabeth II. I think I knew at that something was very wrong. I kept checking reports over the next hours. I wasn’t surprised when we learned things were going downhill fast.
The amount of respect that I have for HM is immense. She vowed to live her life in service and she did to the very end. I hope and pray that HM and Prince Philip are now resting quietly together in peace.

I think what makes me the most sad is what she must have went through because of the actions of the one time spares - Andrew and Harry. I think I and a lot of other people would be far more at peace with the Queen and Prince Phillips passing if the dark clouds the one time spares hung over their heads hadn't happened. It is clear that Harry is not and probably never will be sorry for the pain and anguish he and his wife have caused. Hard to say with Andrew but given his insistence that he should be allowed to return to duties tells you all you need to know. Sad, sad state of affairs. I wish nothing but the best for those in the Royal Family who are trying to carry on as her majesty would have wished.

Totally agree with Richard, sadly Harry is no longer the right person to be a figurehead for Invictus. He can't seem to get away from trying to draw the attention to himself, and towards the athletes and the mission. There are many inspirational leaders with the lived experience of overcoming trauma from serving that could step forward - maybe even an honorary chair each year.

In my 10+ years of doing adaptive sports, the Sussexes are the only non athletes to draw attention to and talk about themselves. Promotional materials, the event, all media coverage focuses on the athletes. The exposure from this coverage is critical for athletes to attract sponsors and win competitive grants. While there are athletes in the promo, every one of them is defeated in competition by Harry. In the final game he faces his top rival: Meghan. That promo's insulting, ableist propaganda. I stopped reading Invictus interviews because Harry only spoke about Harry, as he did in his speech, and the 30 minutes he gave himself in the doc for every 5 minutes given an athlete. Harry doesn't understand that he will never be seen as a role model by any athlete with disabilities. It's a shame he doesn't have the empathy or humility to realize that Invictus athletes have so much they could teach him.
The RF should completely ignore Harry. I can't believe that after all the malicious damage he has caused the family, that he could be so calm and demand an apology from them. He thougherly enjoyed the destruction he caused while it lasted. How can you just forgive somebody without him showing any remorse for his actions. As if he had the right to do whatever he wanted.
They have been ignoring Harold! All these news reports about any connections to Harold and his wife are from their PR machine, they must keep their connection to the BRF to keep making money.
I was visiting London, at the time of the Queen's passing, and the emotional impact was palpable ❤🇦🇺

The man saying that, Meghan attaching herself to celebrities, Kerry Washington is a friend of Meghan far way before she met Harry, those three women knew each other a long time ago, Kerry Washington invited Meghan for her breakthrough to magazine cover called Elle, and Kelly Rowland was also there too, I got a picture for that party, it's a long time ago it was in 2013, and here they are again at Beyonce's renaissance. Queen Elizabeth to me was a pioneer of the modern woman. She was a mechanic in WWII, she was a Princess, a wife, a mother and then The Queen. She had a great and honorable man by her side all of those years who was her strength and stay. She also had a man who helped her to start her reign and show her the ropes. A man who cared deeply for her I think like she was his own daughter. That man was Winston Churchill. She learned very quickly how to reign, be a wife and mother all at the same time. She was beautiful and elegant yet a simple country woman who loved her horses and dogs. So many things wrapped up into one woman and yet she was so majestic and regal and so simple and resilient. From Tartans, hunting and horseback riding to ball gowns, jewelry and Tiaras. She was magnificent and truly an icon who is missed. 💔💔

They are missed by the world, just as they were respected by the world. A truly amazing woman, with a great man by her side. I'm sure that they're sitting side by side watching everything that's going on. Obviously, I didn't know either one of them, but I think that Prince Phillip would say that enough is enough. Wish this was twice a week! And so glad they are publicly remembering. Just so much enjoy Rebecca’s commentary such as describing the death of the Queen “on the hop.” We enjoy these phrases. And the inside stories like when Rebecca mentioned to The King sorry for your loss and crowd had said “God Save the King.” These insights are really a special thing! Keep up the great work folks!
