  • I found this title and it sounded interesting and I was intrigued at how it would work. You pick a style of story, and then based on your inputs, it writes the story, generates art for it and the like. For the first time I tried a Medieval story, and ended up with a Humanitarian Smithing organization.
Think Chat GPT and an image generator mixed together. You can choose prompts, type your part of the story, or even use voice recognition to speak your story, you can ask the narrator questions like a GM
    dreamio: ai-powered adventures
The Developer describes their game as such:
DREAMIO is a 'choose-your-own-adventure' game where stories and visuals are dynamically created through the power of artificial intelligence in response to your decisions. Explore endless worlds with limitless possibilities; go anywhere, do anything.
It comes out 3/5/24 and can be picked up at:

I the very early days of home computing there were text based games like this, with no imagery or graphics. All you could do is proceed, go back or turn. It would day things like "you have entered a dark room, you can hear water flowing". I remember playing as a kid.

Yes, I remember them as well, but those were programmed for only a limited number of options or actions with everything pre-scripted. Dreamio uses your input and writes the story based on your actions. Instead of going down some combat path, I went down a blacksmithing path. 10,000 people could start with the same prompt and all get a unique story.

As a proof of concept, I like it... it will give inspiration to the next generation of this type of game. I liked my story that I did in this video, but just kinda felt that the narrator was just a bit too easy, anything I wanted to do worked out. To put it in movie terms. I'd want the story teller to treat me more like Luke Skywalker than Rey.

How well does it remember details and keep consistency as the story/game further unravels?

it seems to, during my story I apprenticed under a blacksmith, moved on to working for the lord, and the blacksmith came back to me later and wanted me to take over his forge as he was retiring. And apparently you can play the same save file again and expand on that storyline?
