Imagine being 62 and this is 8 minutes of a 3 hour set. The Professor didn't owe us a thing... he died empty - purpose fulfilled. Wonderful performance!!!
You are absolutely right, I can't even Imagine. I've been playing since I was 13 and I'm now 65 with Arthritis and I have had 3 back operations and 1 neck operation, all of them have been Fusions, Including all 5 levels of my lower back being Fused together. I'm in constant pain but I still like to kick around on my Kits because I love drumming it's in my blood. I'm lucky I have a Grandson who loves drumming because of me so I will probably pass on my kits to him. Anyway Neil Peart (the Professor) was a true Inspiration to me and was an Amazing Musician, There were times I wondered if he was a machine, but he wasn't he was an Incredibly gifted human being and a most humble man who truly loved to make amazing music with Alex and Geddy. I still find it amazing Rush was just a 3 piece....God Bless.
@DrumRulloPlease I am a big Symphony X fan, I didn't realize you had your own channel. This is excellent. Please keep posting videos. I just started my own drum channel a little while back, I plan on putting up a video at least once a week. ruclips.net/video/gIgC8BENJuE/видео.html

Jason! I am from Monterrey and I LOVE the fact that you are wearing a T-shirt from CAFÉ IGUANA, one of the city´s MOST IMPORTANT clubs that has provided so much music and entertainment to the city for over 3 decades at this point! one other thing, back in 2007 it was precisely at the CAFE IGUANA that I attended my first ever Symphony X show and it was awesome! please never stop drumming!
Saw a short interview with Grohl talking about playing the 2 Rush songs at the Taylor tribute. He said he was physically spent afterwards and said there'sn no way he could physically do that show. Imagine Neil playing a 3 hour show at his age. He was certainly a drumming workhorse.
❤ yet another evidence of the brilliance and the fine execution of Jason! You’ve been my favourite drummer over the years and continue doing so. Thank you!
One of my favorite RUSH songs. I have heard it many times over the years. I would say you NAILED it! Symphony X has been my favorite band for 25+ years now.
Jason Rullo is a monster on the drums, the first time I had the opportunity to hear him play was with the song Sea of Lies and from then on I was impressed with his way of playing, and now seeing you pay tribute to The Professor , playing wonderfully this one of Rush's greatest songs, made me admire your work even more, great work, thank you, watching your video from Brazil.
Jason..much respect sir! Just seen you for the 2nd time iat the Tokrn in westland Michigan.. Wow what a show...love you guys! You have easily become one of my favorite drummers of all time..right there with Bonham!
Hi Jason, didn't knew you had a channel. I think I never saw an interview with you. I would not mind to see and hear more from you. That would aso cool to have you on Drumeo one of these days. I know not every musicians like to get on the big spotlight and frontpages. I figure this may also require lot of time and energy to always try to promote as an artist. But, you are so talented and defenitely an influence for lot of people. Keep it up! Will not hide that I am eagerly awaiting a new SX album and that I hope you will knoc it out of the park. Cheers!
I’ll never forget hearing this song for the first time at the vapor trails tour. I was blown away. One of my favorites, and as a drummer myself awesome job man. Spot on!
My favorite rush song. Great cover. One of the best prog metal drummers I’ve ever seen live. Hourglass recorded a cover of this months ago just needs vocals which will happen soon. Seems like this song is on the minds of the prog community!
I've been listening to this song since the album was released, but have never clearly watched someone play all the drum part before. In concert, there's a lot going on and easy to get sidetracked with other things... plus, you couldn't really see what Neil was doing very well ( at least from where I would end up ). Over the years I've memorized all of those strokes in my mind when I would hear the song, but seeing this makes me aware of what it takes to make all of them happen. Fun to watch you do it... first rate!
Love this song and you do it more than justice here! Great performance! Can't wait to hear the new SX stuff that's been cooking and to see you guys in Milwaukee soon! Hope you are doing well, Cheers!
I'm 61... I was mowed down by pick up truck. Left me with 29 broken bones including shattered ankles, knees, shins, neck and cracked skull. Metal rods and screws were used to reconstruct ankles and knees. Not to mention that i already had both arms and hands broken prior to my accident. Doctor couldn't assure me whether I would walk again. I incorporated my drum kit as part of my physical therapy. It's because of my drum kit that I'm able to walk again. Problem is that due to my cracked skull, whatever i learn today I sometimes forget tomorrow as i suffer from short term memory and my left side can't keep up with my right. You inspire me to keep going. Ps. Rush happens to be my favorite group.
Flawless execution, kit sounds great, snare sounds like it has life, cracking a lot, too! love it! Metal bands all have similar sounding overprocessed snare sounds and it drives me nuts...

thank you very much!! Appreciate you!

Criminally underrated drummer- I saw him perform with symphony x over 20 years ago- I was blown away
"The death of balance/lacrymosa" on album V. Epic drumming
@lp4275 that album is awesome- but my favorite Is the divine wings of tragedy
LOL
One of my favourite drummers playing one of my favourite Rush songs
What a great tribute to the professor by another professor. 🤘🤘
Might be the best imitation of Neil Peart I've ever heard/saw.
I think you passed the audition 😉
Awesome!!!
Beautiful kit! Love those hats and ride!!!
"Happy Drumming"
🙏❤🌹 Neil 🌹❤🙏
Can't be better. Punchy and fluid. Can't wait for next Symphony X .....👍👍👍

What! My favorite drummer playing a song from my favorite drummer! Sick! 🤘
Well done, mate! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
One of the best drummers out there.
Saw a short interview with Grohl talking about playing the 2 Rush songs at the Taylor tribute. He said he was physically spent afterwards and said there'sn no way he could physically do that show. Imagine Neil playing a 3 hour show at his age. He was certainly a drumming workhorse.
No he was a Drumming God! The Consummate Professional Perfectionist.....
The Professor........
But Peart was not The most technical advanced drummer.
Jason Rullo, for example is much more advanced
@@82manginithere are more important things than technicality.
@spencergsmith
There only one aspect Peart is better than Rullo, Peart is more famous and popular
ALL other aspectos Rullo eats Peart for breakfast
@@82mangini don't know about that but have a nice day anyways....
More of this, please! I’ve found a new appreciation for this song ❤
Great song. You really nailed Neil’s power and essence. I will be watching for more.
This is what happens when a master surprises you by playing a marvelous piece of art made by another master!!!
My favorite Rush song! Awesome! What a study in Time Signatures besides just a really cool piece.
I feel the same. This song has everything and Jason did it justice... well played, Mauer... well played.
❤ yet another evidence of the brilliance and the fine execution of Jason! You’ve been my favourite drummer over the years and continue doing so. Thank you!
Amazing Jason! Beautiful performance! Hugs from Brazil!
Jason… this was amazing!!👊🏻 Cooper watched and loved.
WOW 🤩 Amazing performance!
Wonderful as always ❤ Thanks Jason
Excellent rendition of this classic Rush song, Jason!
One of my favorite RUSH songs. I have heard it many times over the years. I would say you NAILED it!
Symphony X has been my favorite band for 25+ years now.
There are only two drummers that I would be ok with playing Rush songs with Alex and Geddy, and Jason is one of them.
Portnoy is the other?
@@endlessorbaggins8223 you bet.
Virgil Donati could do it
@@endlessorbaggins8223, more like Mangini. He's much better equipped to handle that job.
If I had to pick one favorite, I would choose the Odyssey.
❤Symphony X it’s all great

Wow that was exceptional. One of their best songs and an incredibly complex drum part. You nailed it!
Grande Jason Rullo e grandi Symphony x!!!

I Love this song!!!❤
Awesome! …and now you’re an inspiration to thousands of drummers!! 🤘🙌 Speaking of which, I could use some new Symphony X 😃
That kit is gorgeous and sounds amazing!
Perfect. Neil Peart has left us a legacy. Just like your band SYMPHONY I put you in my top 5 world progressive metal drummers. You are a teacher.
This is Great!! …Jason Rules!!!
No really . . . . WE'RE NOT WORTHY!!!
Bravo man, that was precision with "soul". A track that is in my Top 10 Rush faves.

Hard hitting right there.
I just discovered that you had a channel! That's awesome!
Nice! Jason Rullo is a great drummer in his own right.
Amazing
A low profile accurate and soulful drummer, tight as a vise with musicianship that serves the song for the song, underrated but great!!
Based on the strike pattern on his snare drum, I would say he is a very precision drummer. Bravo one of my favorites, the man, is a master.
Awesome job! You’ve got a new sub, keep rocking
Flawless execution, kit sounds great, snare sounds like it has life, cracking a lot, too! love it! Metal bands all have similar sounding overprocessed snare sounds and it drives me nuts...
Great!!!
Great job man. As a drummer for over twenty years I can tell you It’s not easy playing any Rush song.
Well done, sir!
Excellent work
got a signed drum skin from the merch booth at the Toronto show recently thanks cant wait until next tour/album.
