Great tips! I love the wash now style later method. I do that once a week. I wash and deep condition in the evening. I then let my hair. I rewet and style in the morning.
Thank you for this video. Very good information. And really nice to know that if my Dyson kicks the bucket, there is a more budget friendly version that seems to do a bang up job!
Hey, thank you for your videos, they're very helpful! Do you have any tips on how to handle curly hair when you're a swimmer? I swim 3 times a week, hence end up washing and styling from scratch at least 4 times a week, and 3 of those need to be super quick (and done in a public bathroom with products I have to carry around all day). I would really appreciate any ideas on how to make that more manageable 😅
A co-wash is great for washing after swimming because it can be used frequently without stripping. You can also pre-poo with oil or a deep conditioner before you go swimming. It helps protect the hair from the chlorine water
@@GenaMarie I do co-wash at the pool, but deep conditioning while I swim is something I'll definitely try out! It might help the protein-moisture balance, too. Thank you!
Hi Gena I love your video’s, I have learn a lot from your routines and tips. Thanks for that! I was wondering if you already are familiar with Talia Waajid products for curly hair. I will like to see a review of those products. Xxx
While I like Curlsmith Strength, Color and Scalp lines, the Curlsmith Moisture Line is pure kryptonite on my hair. I’ve used a lot of products that didn’t jive with my hair, but this line is, by far, the absolute worst. Not only does it wreck my hair, make my curls look terrible and cause me to rewash from scratch, but I think it smells awful. I’d love to have your opinion on the Controlled Chaos line, but you will need to add a gel to it. I use the Hydro Style Flexi Jelly or the Ouidad gels.
Hi! I'm struggling to maintain moisture in my 3A high porosity curls. I started my full curly hair journey at the end of summer 2021, went with the big chop in order to grow out my curls. My current wash day routine consists of Olaplex pre-shampoo treatment--> hydrating shampoo from Pattern by Tracee Ellis Ross--> heavy conditioner (also from pattern beauty)--> hair mask--> final rinse in cold water--> jojoba oil --> leave-in conditioner --> curl cream------> gel--> plop --> diffuse on low/cool setting. Aside from that, I put my hair up in a pineapple when I sleep; invested in silk/satin pillowcases, drink 2-3 water bottles (32 fl oz bottle) worth of water daily. I am at my wit's end on what else can I do to prevent my curls from losing moisture, falling flat, and becoming dry & frizzy between wash? Please help!
hi gena i just wanna say thank you so much for everything you’re doing cause now i can finally understand my curls at a deeper level. i used to straighten all the time but i stopped a little over a year ago but i didn’t really know how to handle my hair either way. anyway i was wondering if you could do a video on how to restyle hair after wearing a hat or a beanie. i work in restaurants as a cook so i’m required to wear one. with all that heat in the kitchen and the hat squishing my hair my curls become flat and really ugly
Yay love this video!! I take sections of curls i want to define meaning more of my front peices that i like to add abit more definition! Saves time in styling my whole head of curls to do only parts id love to add defintion😁💞💕xxxx
Always super clear instructions, thank you! Do you use the hair dryer on low heat and low speed to dry it that fast? If so that’s crazy awesomely fast! (I know the diffuser automatically puts it on those settings, just wondering if you changed them manually to get that fast dry time.)
Hi Gena-I have tried both the In shower Style Fixer and the Souffle with good results! I think I like the feel of my hair better with the souffle. For some reason, I always get more hold on one side of my hair than the other. I try hard to add more gel to that one side but it still comes out this way! Any thoughts? I guess add more gel?
Someone suggested to always start any step of your routine on your ‘worse’ side. It has definitely helped me. There is always a side that’s not playing ball 😕
Have you tried wash now style later? A lot of times the only time I can shower is when my boyfriend is taking care of the kids which is at night since that’s when he comes home from work I’ve tried washing and styling before bed but it comes out so bad and notice I wash my hair too frequently because of this I tried to wash now and style later but I’m not liking the results I’m getting 😞 any suggestions or tips ?

I alternate co-washing with using a curly girl approved shampoo (I also clarify with a sulphate shampoo once a month). I love Curlsmith products!
Me too!
Good morning Gena, I'm so excited for your video! Thank you so much!! Have a beautiful day!!! ❤
I like the style later option for spoonies since I can’t do the whole thing in one go
Thank you we need this from time to time... You always focus on new ideas we think about it thank you so much

Great video! I need to add a co-wash routine I’m just not getting the time between washes that I used to get. My hair doesn’t look as good 🙄

I watch your tutorials every week! Do u have a tutorial using Jessicurl products?🤔
Thank you! No, I don't unfortunately. I tried some samples in the past but couldn't really tell how they work, so i need to try again.

I tried it and weights down my curls, no volume. I figured if there's anyone that can figure this out, it's you! 😅

Yes, low heat and low airflow! I was shocked too!
@@GenaMarie well then, I’m sold!!
Hey Gena. Do you experiment with you low density hair stick to you scalp after rinsed out your conditioner? Do you do it upright or the opposite?
I wash and style right side up. I usually run my hands through my hair after rinsing out conditioner just to break it up
