Yes love this fragrance. Only start wearing it when I was nearly 50. The wife thinks it’s a bit spicy old man smelling. I reckon it’s classy and refined! Love it ! Thanks Mr Smelly for the great review
I consider it a classic and find it absolutely delightful. Just a bit better though is the Terre d'Hermes Eau Intense Vétiver. To my nose extra vetiver IS something worth getting excited about, especially when adding it to an already stunning scent! Both are delicious and both sit proudly in my arsenal of fragrance.
This was nice of you to do an extra review for us! Thank you! While I don't own Terre d'Hermes, I love it. Especially the dry down. The cedar note is wonderful.
Love the Parfum version . . . Great masculine fragrance ! ISO-E Super pushes Terre D'hermes on for hours with nice performance. Be well . . . be safe . . . Thanks for sharing . . .
Seen Jeremy Fragrance video on it today talking about it's not that good. It's my most complimented scent. Been rocking it since I was 28, I've just turned 40 I've got the Edt the Edp and the intense Vetiver. I had Yardley citrus and wood but I think it's discontinued. Great video sir.
The fragrance community consensus is that Jeremy doesn't seem to know all that much about perfumery and I am inclined to agree. He doesn't review fragrances for fragrance enthusiasts, he reviews them for some guy on the street who simply wants to get laid. I'm not even going to go into detail on how much of a snake oil salesman he is. You cannot keep using the adjective "sexy" to describe every scent and get away with it.
Great review Dan, liked the historical info about Hermes. Hands down masterpiece for me. Love wearing this in the spring. Classy and draws lots of positive attention. Always liked Jimmy Qs description of it. To quote, “a marmalade, burnt orange kind of smell; like the orange rind you’d spritz or squeeze on top of a cocktail” I totally get that🍸🍸
@@MrSmelly1977 I bought the whole line. It's superb, each one standing for itself, while keeping the DNA strong. Easily in my top 3 designers right now, along with DHI (don't own DHP anymore after my bottle emptied and couldn't find it again) and Chanel Egoiste.
I hated this at first but it really grew on me with repeated wearings - it's quite literally refreshingly different form your literal "freshies". If you put a gunflint to my head though, I would say it stands under the same umbrella as TFTL and quite possibly Bentley Absolute, which is no bad thing at all.
Day 2 of sampling the EDT. To my nose it's primarily an orange bomb. Don't dislike it per se but it doesn't do anything for me. And I had such high hopes based on the its note listing and concept. Oh well. Always a chance I'll inexplicably come around on it later but for the time being not for me. Alvarez Gomez Barberia (I have the EDP) is more my style for a versatile citrus forward frag. I can see the appeal, though, for those that don't find the citrus overwhelming and why for many its a great alternative to aquatics. Great review.
One of the best fragrances of all time :) I never got it when I was younger however it just grows on you . It’s the best when it lingers in the air in your scent cloud . I own both the Edp&Edt. Get compliments all the time ..
@@numberuno9015 edp (parfum) for sure. But edt is more bright in some way and has more “loud” scent in comparison with parfum. Parfum has on it’s base more warm woody notes
I have never tried Terre d' Hermes. I love Equipage & Rocabar. I bought them in my early 20s, having gone into Hermes for the 1st time thinking 😳 way out of my budget lol. I did buy Rocabar & Equipage. Those 2 were my 1st quality fragrances. One of my all time classics, though before my time, is Azzaro Pour Homme..I still wear it. I'm not sure how or if it's been reformulated. I wear it and my friends say that's an old man's fragrance lol..or when I wear Dior Fahrenheit, ew that smells like gas(petrol) fumes😌
Great review, Mr. Smelly. A true classic, indeed. The geranium note is a bigger player than people give it credit for, and once you key in on it, the Eau Intense Vetiver really shines. Let's Project!!!! 💨💨💨💨💨
Not even watched the video yet - but I love the mourning clock. I have always loved clocks, and have 2.5 mourning clocks myself (2 working, 1 a shell with a broken mechanism). Is that an Ansonia works in that one?
Dior Eau Sauvage Cologne (with the white cap) is a great modernized version of the classic. But it is barely discussed at all. Maybe it would be interesting for this series.
I have the parfum, but recently gave the edt another wearing and realized that the orange comes off a bit more sour on my skin with that one. It's not quite sour, but on its way. Still an iconic scent IMO.
Avon Destination Grand Canyon is a good smell alike. Performs well enough as well (unlike other Avon's!) Still a few on Ebay for about £10 as discontinued. Cheers Dan :-)
Yep , it's a all time classic, recently bought my fourth bottle and second bottle of Hermes voyage, which could be better, it's very well made and could rock any accassion. My old favorite that can't be bought now is gucci rush, it's a lot like, one molecule ..
If you want the best dupe of this, check out Stirling Soap Company’s Arkadia. Stirling is known for their shaving soaps, but they also do eau de toilettes. They do all sorts of dupes of popular fragrances at very affordable prices!
I really liked it when I first tried it but at the moment I seem to have gone off vetiver. Also I tried Molecule 01 and can't smell anything, it seems anosmia to iso E super isn't uncommon. Would you recommend something similar that isn't so heavily based on it?
Masterpiece. Was my signature for many years, it will always be in my collection. I get absolutley no similarities to the frankly dreadful and overrated dunghill icon although i do think icon has a little bit of the equally overrated & dreadful ellena creation declaration by cartier.
im really struggling to understand this scent. i cn c a lot of crazy fans of it, but it just doesnt perform on me. the notes seem very intresting and i tried a few times but to begin with i cn hardly smell it - and also i dont find the smell all tat amazing as its made out to be. i find the tres Fraiche very excellent though
Found it uber thin, too transparent, with a chemical vibe and with very bad performance too...would much prefer Dunhill Icon being in the same ballpark...
One of the best Designer Fragrance on the market, thank you for the historical background too👏👏😍
Thanks a lot Miya.
I adore Terre Hermes. The dirty orange smell is one of the best orange notes I know.
Orange peel would make more sense imo
This would fit perfectly in your "citrus woody" category. Also just noticed the bottom of the bottle is the Hermes "H"

Seems right up my alley. Versatile, mature and masculine. I am also a big fan of vetiver as a note. I will possibly blind buy this. Cheers.
Lovely fragrance, very distinctive and has its own unique charm! A truly wonderful creation.
One of my favourites, and interestingly enough, my most complemented fragrance as well, a classic indeed.
Hey Mr.Smelly what's up? This is literally my favorite fragrance

Very good review.
Love smelling this on my husband! 💕
So do I.
TDH is just such a great citrus with a hard edge. It truly is what Aventus wishes it could be when it grows up.
In my opinion Hermes amd Guerlain are above Chanel and Dior
Cool clock, does it chime? What brand?
I swear my parents had the exact same clock! 😂

Dunhill Icon has some similarities.
@@MrSmelly1977 I think Dunhill Icon would be perfect for me if it didn't have that "smoky oud" in the base.
Huh it turns out that I can smell ISO E Super now, and Terre d'Hermès doesn't just smell like soapy vetiver anymore
Excellent fragrance, probably my favourite as an all rounder. Have you tried Rasasi fattan? Almost indistinguishable when compared side by side.
Amazing mature scent. I own Pure Parfum version. It works great in hot days...
It is a classic for sure, although I prefer the parfum version. Fantastic clock!

This was an instant dislike for me. The dirty vetiver/mineral (?) was too prominent. The scent cloud however smells much more blended and pleasant.
