serious question, what therapy exercise would be best to raise the diaphragm? Have a hiatal hernia, and the heel drop kinda helps, but I'm looking to find a position to possibly help with a means to get my diaphragm back in it's proper place.
Mine often hurts if I haven't eaten enough recently. And I know it's an easy problem to forget about or dismiss as standing too long. So I recommend trying that as well if you haven't
It's called a physiotherapist. They mostly work with disabled/elderly people and athletes, but they can very much help anyone with posture issues. Oh and I'm counting pregnancy as a disability btw. There's tons of exercises you can do to help relieve some stress from your back, shoulders, and hips.
the two excersises in the video would be brilliant for you to do. hangs are great and so are bridges. holding those positions for some amount of time every day will help your posture amazingly.
Guess what, they listen to you via your smartphone, they track what you're typing on your keyboard and then adjust your recommendations. That's why you got a feeling they read your mind
@@JesusPlsSaveMe As a Christian, I highly recommend you don't do this. You show yourself shirtless with depressed/slouched posture, then you pull yourself back into what you say is extended "not ideal posture". But you never show yourself in "neutral/good/ideal" posture. Please show the extremes, then show what is "ideal" so people can better wrap their heads around your concepts and content. Bending around a skeleton doesn't help people see what is ideal. But you showing this on your own body and movements and muscle activation would be much more helpful (front, back, and side angles). Thank you.

bracing pelvic floor, glutes, core, neck(/neck? like, do the ballet neck posture thing); make sure your shoulders aren't forward hunched. You do that for workouts, do it in general, and eventually an easy default becomes the norm
Have you worked with anyone with spinal stenosis? Very challenging because the issue isn't muscle imbalance/weakness or strength, and exercises that promote extension cause them tremendous pain.
is that the guy who plays someone else's short and then records himself with a smartphone and mirror and spends 2 minutes explaining why they're wrong in a vocal tone like he's trying not to wake up his incredibly irritable & abusive sleeping parents in the next room
I’ve been told to point my nipples into people’s eyes like I’m shooting laser beams out of them, and that I’ll be golden for posture. But every time I do that, I’m breathing so shallowly. I can barely take a breath without being physically restricted from any more air coming in
Thank you. I have struggled with posture all my life and changed it a number of times, both on purpose and as a result of having children. I've never been able to redeem my posture after kids. Now that I'm completely done having children the next couple years are going to be spent putting my body back together. Things like this really help.
THANK YOUUU. i need to fix my posture because it makes me look insecure and small. i’ve also had a lot of daily pain over the past year and my posture is just fueling the fire. i’ve found myself straightening my back to attempt to fix it, but it was so uncomfortable and now i know why. i’ll hang to try these exercises out.. i dont have anything to hang onto, though
I feel like I have constant hip flexion like you said! I have L4-L5 herniations and a “twisted” SI joint, and honestly my lower back arch looks very exaggerated even when standing straight up. My shoulders/ribs never give me problems, but when my sciatica flares up my right hip gets tight, and looking at my torso, it looks like my right waist curve is shorter than the left waist. I do glute bridges all the time, and I suspend myself to get that hanging relief, but is there anything specific you’d recommend for getting the hips more underneath me and not overextending my back arch? Btw I love you 😍 thanks for these amazing videos!!!
I think i'm going to trust my parents who are both physiotherapists... Edit: Turns out this guy was actually right but there are a lot of times this would be false information.
I was born with scoliosis. Got rid of it by addressing the massive knots in my upper back it caused. Now I got a nice curve and it doesn’t look like I’m walking like a duck. Mobility is key. I also took ballet when I was younger so a lot of that helped me to think straighter. You are the God of your body and you can heal it. ❤❤❤❤
I really hate it when the human body is like demanding you to not do thiss Ohhhh don't eat this Ohhhhhhh don't sit like this.............GOD KNOWS how painful it is 💀🗿⚰️⚰️
But without changing the spine. I can talk for myself and can confirm that when I think of standing straight, I move my lower body forward and my shoulders back. He is saying that you shouldn't do that, but rotate only the hips and shoulders. If I try to stand straight like people told me in the past, I cramp up in like 5 minutes and it hurts really bad.
Do weightlifting exercises that strengthen the back, like deadlifting. Your posture will NATURALLY improve without harm, and your pain might be related to lack of muscle rather than to the conscious straightening.
This dude is a content creator not someone trying to help people. His videos lack nuance and practical advice and instead use tactics that stir up something akin to "fear there's something wrong with me" in people uneducated in physical fitness. If you're concerned about your posture, hire a well reviewed personal trainer and unless you're suffering from a serious structural issue, you will be able to correct any issues within a few months.
@@ChasingChevy thats not really for you to decide, though, is it ? the classification of "out of touch" is one which, by nature, is generally going to be disputed by the person to which it is assigned. in no small part, this is because youre too out of touch to realise youre out of touch 👍"how much could a pear cost, $6?" etc etc etc. To be clear, I am not commenting on the majority of your comment. Frankly, while i think it (ironically) lacks nuance and seeks to stir up negativity more than provide actual realistic advice for people, I dont entirely disagree. As I said, out of touch.
No. Just a tip to understand what he is saying Search up the photo of backbone and try to replicate the shape of it with your backbone You will realize that it's straightens your whole body rather than just the upper body

I do have scoliosis but 'standing up straight' honestly obviously won't help me at all. My shoulders will always be slightly different levels
My posture is absolute dogshit, and this makes a lot of sense. When I try to correct it and straighten out, it's very uncomfortable, and oftentimes causes more discomfort than my already terrible posture.
I’ve been struggling for years with anterior pelvic tilt and a slightly hunched back, plus getting out of breath really fast and experiencing a lot of back pain, this may have just saved my life
