Gligar is about to be everywhere again. Now that it's frequently spawing. Or has been. I'm excited I finally get to abuse it. I've been so tilted the last few seasons not having one.
Got a rank 1 annihilape super pumped I immediately started using it. The main thing I learned is I’ve seen fast attacks do more than ice punch. It is undoubtedly lacking in damage…. After dropping 300-400 elo I’m starting to assume I got click baited on the meta changer

I feel like if Niantic give annihilape shadow claw down the road it might have a slightly better match up with gligar but the airial ace update has def made gligar annoying to battle
this game is so frustratng went 46W 31L with Annihilape, Lanturn and Skarmony got myself to near 2400. Decided to try Whishcash over Lanturn and saw some success. Immediately swapped out Ape with gligar as the higher i got the more people were hunting for it and instantly ive dropped 200 rating. Every safe swap after getting my whish out of lead is lanturn. Idk if its a tilt thing but its so annoying being close to veteran and dropping so much and not gaining anything back. Any advice on how to play the matchup? Am i supposed to just stick with whish in lead until death?

I rarely have a good lead. If I bring a grass type, they have open with skarmory or talonflame. If I bring a mudboi lead, they'll bring a serperior. If I lead with Skarmory, they'll have Lanturn or a rock thrower.
Just a flex- i recently(accidentally) caught rank 1 shiny gligar😂 But i don't have any maxxout mons for master league (i stuck at lvl 43, i have to win 30 battles for that😢
A team i have been using lately is Annihilape Counter ice punch shadow ball mandibuzz snarl dark pulse arial ace and skarmory steel wing etc. I think y’all shoild try it out.
The good old skarmory sableye swampert core is working wonders with me right now, almost getting me to expert, but I am in the southeast asia part of the gbl servers... so... a pinch of salt is needed.
i used this team but shadow gliscor instead of gligar, went 5-0 can’t complain haha, although a lot of my wins were from gliscor just nuking people and them not shielding 😂😂
I just don’t think PG PvP is for me, after spending time researching and watching others play over the last year I just wouldn’t enjoy it. You can’t have fun and get rewards, unless you enjoy using meta Pokémon and I just don’t. I would rather spend time burning berries unfortunately.
Remember your old team A nine/Empoleon/Mandibuzz? Loved using it except against Bastiodon teams, similar to how yesterday’s double fairy team worked with Gligar. Combine the two. Bring back the Empoleon and sub Mandibuzz for Gligar.

Agreed. I tried to get spicy with all these cool mons but went back to a simple Azu Serperior Skelly core and gained almost 200 elo

My God that Greninja, Emolga and Alakazam spice was unbelievably cool! I love non meta Pokes being used in random teams (Besides Greninja)
I also faced the spice lord with greninja/emolga/alakazam today. Thankfully I pulled off the win but I still had to tip my hat to the spice
This event gave me #6 gligar and this spotlight hour just gave me a #30 wish so this couldn’t have come at a better time - thanks!

I wonder why you purified your Gligar? because shadow Gligar 3/7/13 was very good PVP iv and it ranked higher than normal Gligar
I used Scaled from my whiscash about 20 times yesterday, not a single debuff. Yet when my opponent uses it, it's like 100% chance it gets the debuff.

I just got a 100 iv shadow barboach, dont have enough to evolve it, or get a second move, same with my gligar and skarmory.
