- For some reason the ID.3 occasionally looses the connection and becomes offline. It shows this with a warning when the car starts and it tries to read the connection status. It's also visible on the little globe in the upper left corner of the infotainment screen. There is no signal indicators and the 4G logo is missing.
It's quite easy to fix this issue by removing fuse 19 for a couple of minutes.
This is how to do it.
Thank you so much for this! I was having trouble setting up Car-Net on my ID.4 and this fixed the issue. Saved me a trip to the dealer!
This solved the problem on my 2024 Pro S AWD thank you so much!!
Works like magic! Thank you!
It solved my problem, MERCI.
Perfect. Worked first time on my ID 4. Thank you for posting the fix.
Thank you for this video. Extremely useful. I had the same problem but lasted for a week, followed your instructions and worked like wonders. Thank you again
Thanks for this. For my right hand drive ID.4 the fuse panel is behind the glove box, a bit fiddly to remove, but the fuse is in the same position and the fix worked for me.

Thank you very much for this video. So easy to follow F 19 fixed it.
Worked on my ID3 in 2022. Thanks.
Many thanks for your video. So far we‘ve not had this issue. And it‘s great to know what to do if it does occur.
Very helpful - worked for me on my Id4 - Thank you👏🏼
Tusen takk for videoen. Det funket på første forsøk.

Works fine with my ID 4 GTX~ thanks!!
It’s working thanks buddy 💯
Thanks for great info. Happened to me too. Offline mode sorted. Only for right hand steering cars fuse panel is located in glove box. Needs remove glove box door and fuse lid is located on left beside saloon filter element.
Works on a 2021 VW ID.3 Pro. Thanks!
Vielen Dank, das hat prima funktioniert!
In the video it looks very easy, and it is if 1) you have the right tools, especially tweezers, 2) you are parked on a clean ground, 3) you are young and agile. When you do it yourself, you will find that you are not sitting in the driver's seat while doing it, but probably kneeling outside, so provide a little carpet if the ground is not clean, and padded if your knees are older.
Thank you! It helped.
Big thanks for posting this fix. Went off line and couldn't go back. Popped fuse 19 as instructed and the problem was solved.👍
Same problem. İ did it as you said. İt worked. Thanks
Great tip if it ever happens to me. Thanks.
Working! Thank you!
Worked for me, thanks! God, VW software is rubbish if it requires such hacks!
Any help on resetting services notifications without obd tools please 🙏 VW ID4.
Hi there, I have VW ID.6 and in the past 4 months I have been gone office over 20 times - ah it’s so frustrating that I cannot connect my Apple CarPlay with full confidence. Any suggestion or solution please
Just picked up a ID.4 Pro Performance and had the issue... Tried the tips and tricks posted in this video to no avail.
I did however find that the small "info" -icon at the roof gave some indication ...
When pressed I see the Globe switching to 4G then 3G and then back to globe while a "human friendly" female voice calmly states: "This service has been deactivated, please contact a dealership or service provider" ...
Perfekt. 1000 tak
I got the 4g signals with this yes! Still in my informainment system offline button is like stuck, can't slide the button "go online" into right, when i push the button, it does not react. Very strange....
After replacing the fuse I did not lock the car. I just pressed 10 secs the infotainment power button and restarted it agaun => voila'
Hi.. i Have the same issue and I am doing all the steps as you mention but still my connection gets lost very often.. ID3
do you recommend something else ?? Thank you
Would you happen to know if it's the same fuse on an ID.3?
As far as I have been told in the ID forums: yes.
I have the same problem for the past 2 weeks and I tried this trick but it didn’t work
Any advice ?
Thanks
Is car service working on WiFi?
Hi there, my VW ID4 both screens are shut down, but I still can drive, small screen showing that I am driving and it is on D, thats all! Other parts just black! Can you guys help me what to do? Thank you
try holding down the power button on the infotainment for a minute or two
Подскажи пожалуйста надо просто вытащить на 5 минут предохранитель и обратно вставить? Я просто не совсем см понимаю английский язык.
What is that fuse?
they are working on a fix is what i was told. somthing like Polstar 2 where if you hold down the deforster butten for 30 sek it restarts it but who knows when that update comes
You can already reboot the infotainment by holding the power button on the panel below the screen. You can even reboot the entire car by holding the button on the side of the steering wheel rod. But non of this helps this problem.
A year later it still hasn't come.
If you want a problmatic car this is what you want you will have a different problem everyday I think this car will be recalled VW can’t sell something that does not work and they can’t get you in for 5 days to look at it and tell you they have no loaner cars, can they?
crazy hack ,,, but very bad that a reboot dont fix it, sad that we even have to see such problem with brand new software.
I strongly agree. The ID-software is slow and full of bugs. Tip of the iceberg I tell you... ;-)
VW has a nasty habit in pushing products on the market, which have not been fully tested/developed yet. Just wait a couple of years and then the EV's from VW will hopefully give less trouble... (and have a lower salesprice!).
This method will give you air bag error
Germans dont know software dev... they suck hard at it.... Buuuuuut eventually it will sort out, so relax and enjoy the quirks i'd say
What a hunk of junk. Why am I pulling fuses in my wifes 1 year old ID4. Madness. Wouldn't happen in my Polestar.
