I hope Dr Roy knows that behind the empty seats and scant laughs are thousands more behind paying attention, learning and having a great laugh whilst learning. I literally listen to these lectures while working and has been a great source of knowledge for myself and I’m sure, many! I hope our paths cross!

I have literally listened to everyone of his lectures now, I can’t get enough. Fantastic teacher! Very easy to follow and understand! A pleasure to learn from
I agree that he is actually one of the greatest nowadays! We can not keep up with his greatness in the modern era because he would stand wayyy above other historians Since we’re talking/watching about history. Roy is extremely great not only is he accurate in facts but he’s also relatable in perspective many people that do his job, I can not listen to them, I could probably never be interested if not for him which is my fault.
@@angelodeherrera4689 I agree. He manages to hold my attention and I retain what he says. Lots of times I’ve listed to historical lectures and couldn’t tell you anything about what I’d just listened to. He’s a marvellous teacher.
I wouldn't go that far, he's more like a history popularizer, not a real historian, as he indulges in a lot of sensationalism in his chronicling... He's like a Niel deGrasse Tyson more than a Stephen Hawking, not necessarily worse, but one is more of a media character than the other who has more serious/tangible academic output.
@@adebowalekonstantinov404he’s not a “history popularizer” he’s a professor. What more do you have to do to be considered a “real historian”? He has a doctorate and gives lectures and has conducted original research in history.
Love Dr. Roy. I'm visiting San Antonio at the end of September / the beginning of October and I am seriously debating driving up just to try'n meet you;
AWWWW YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAA In college I studied polisci & econ to work at the UN or as a geopolitical risk forecaster, and then went to finance intelligence sales. My brain comes alive through Dr. Roy's content: If you love Dr. Roy's stuff, check out these podcasts: - History of Rome - Revolutions (both by Mike Duncan) - Blowback (about US involvement in Cuba, Korea, Afghanistan, Iraq) - The Age of Napoleon - The Reconquista - History of the Cuban Revolution - The Iberian knot: History of the Spanish Civil War - The Verge - History of Pirates
I'm from Portugal, found Dr. Roy on youtube and I love his lectures, amazing, thank you so much for sharing, cheers Dr. Roy and his team and colleagues.
Dr. Casagranda, of your many otherworldly attributes it is your humility that shines the most for me. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and wisdom with us ‘common’ people
I look forward to picking a new lecture of yours every evening. So informative and you're not boring to listen to, I actually retain things . Thank you ☺️
Dr. Casagranda should consider live streaming Austin School lectures on this channel! It would be a great opportunity to grow the community around the channel, and potentially could get more lectures uploaded here sooner!
Ketchikan guy here. Love Roy casagrande! Love the shout out to my city. FYI we are on an island, not on the mainland, and we have 10,000 people in the city, 15,000 on the island. Our airport is on a separate island and the population there is probably about 50.
Love hearing you setting the record straight on what people think vs. what actually happened! My favorite is the notion people have political parties are so different! Also the ways the Executive Office has been redefined! Makes me realize what a historic time we are at right now!

Thank you for the very informative lecture. Days that I see a new video from Dr.Roy is uploaded are the best ones. Still waiting for world war 2 part 3 lecture😅 All the best. Your devoted student from Iran
A thousand thanks for your RUclips series! If possible , please do a presentation on the ever increasing illiteracy rates matched by the ever decreasing funding for public schools. Are we becoming a nation of fools? Is it on purpose? The private schools continue to take more and more money from the public sector. You are a voice of reason in a sea of media manipulation that is inspiring. Please keep up the great work!
I think Dr. Roy gives Truman far too much credit. If you look at the bills FDR would've passed if he was alive to pass them, Truman basically scrapped half of them and just remodeled them into his own bill. Personally see that as damage control by the ruling class not good policy
Guys can you please post all of dr roy's lectures on ww2? I ve listened to parts 1 and 2 but you have another one posted called part x?? So im assuming parts 3 through 9 are still to be posted? Ive recently discovered this channel and im on a history knowledge acquiring binge enabled by dr roy and your university and everything you guys are doing is much appreciated. Thanks for everything! Dear Dr. Roy, thank you for your time and effort doing these historical events and truths from thousands years ago till now, I really appreciate it. You have made a video about Iran and its historical events from the beginning till today but you covered mostly from last century. I wanted to ask you about this that is it possible to make another video of how Iran became smaller and weaker from 2500 years ago with focus of the period after Arabs attacking and mostly about ‘Nader Shah’ who rebuilt Iran from scratch till now. If it is possible please add this topic to your classes and cover it cause we have been told some stories inside Iran from our school books but they are not all true and we wanna hear another face of truth from outside of the Iran guys like you. Lord Acton’s famous statement, “Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely,” was not specifically about Abraham Lincoln. This quote was part of a letter Acton wrote to Bishop Creighton in 1887, where he discussed the moral standards that should be applied to all men, including political and religious leaders. Acton did have opinions on Lincoln, particularly regarding the American Civil War, where his sympathies lay with the Confederacy due to their defense of states’ rights. However, there is no direct link between his famous quote and Lincoln himself.

One question that arises: who is “they”? They impeached, they elect, they select… who is they in this story?
The "representatives". Question is whom do they(darn adjective again) represent?
