Berry it's always a blessing to hear you teach and answer questions so wisely.i have this question about backsliders, the local church I go is so much about Altar calls in inviting the backsliders to rededicate, and lost salvation to regain but I understand the eternal redemption.kindly share some light on backsliders example a person who knows the Lord I mean a saved person living in adultery..what I learn from Andrew wommak's teachings is that allowing spirit over take soul and body!
This is certainly food for thought. What do you think about the perspective of him not being exalted above measure referring to the people he preached to and not to Paul himself? Because if you remember, in the Corinthian church, there were those that had picked sides on whom they thought the most anointed ministers were. Some for Paul, others for Peter, others for Apollos, etc. So in a sense, these believers had started to glory or exalt these apostles. So in order for them to see that Paul was still just human like they were, he was given a messenger of Satan who afflicted him with an obvious, unpleasant looking eye disease. Because ,doubt less, Paul had a problem with his eyes. Which you would think strange that an infirmity like that would linger in his body. In one of his letters, he testified of their love for him by saying he knew they could have given him their own eyes if it had been possible. And then when he went on to list those weaknesses he took pride in so the grace of God could rest on him, the first weakness he listed was infirmities. Which refers to an adverse physical condition.
I have taken out time to see it form this angle you've spoken from, but how do we then explain Galatians 4:13-14? Paul attest to having an illness here.
That’s pure speculation. Your past has nothing to do with the future. This is just a theory as you see many saints die of sickness. Old testament and new alike our bodies waste away but our spirit is being renewed day by day. I’m not saying that Paul didn’t have a sickness in the body because we just don’t know but we can look at Elijah in the old testament and Epaphroditus in the new. Be blessed

God use the same words from Genesis to Revelation re: what also hindered Paul

Doesn't mean that's what he was referring to when he was talking about a thorn in the flesh 😮
