Filipinos are known to be one of the happiest people and I can really see the resemblance of that Filipino trait to Serin's sons. It's really nice to have such affectionate family.
filipinos hilig bolahin sarili nila at magbuhat ng bangko ganito kame ganyan kame halatang kulang sa attention pinoy at recognition lage pinipilit sarili ewwww😒😒
I love how her husband isn't embarrassed or afraid to show his affection towards her and how he genuinely supports his wife in finding the thing she wants to do. Their sons are so caring and supportive too. I couldn't stop smiling like an idiot while watching this. Their family is so beautiful and they're very lucky to be surrounded by genuinely nice people. ☺💜
It's like watching a kdrama with some old vibe. I can't stop smiling. You can really see the couple inlove even after almost 20years of marriage. I love how the husband doesn't seem to be embarassed showing affection to his wife and I see their sons got that trait from him. I like how the village/island where they live is welcoming and open to foreigners. Just like when they tried suman (filipino rice cake) and a villager said to her to teach their neighbors how to make it. Such a sweet episode.
To be honest, having a childhood like their sons are the best ones. Every morning u woke up to help your parents by doing various of things that are related with mother nature; by the sea and animals to feed. This family is surely lovely. They balance each other flaws with their own strengths. Fighting!
@Georgina lovelots I actually agree with anon. 1. Negative issues piques the interest of people more than good news. I know this because i've been in radio and tv broadcast during my intership back in uni. 2. In korea (and other countries), they would publish more negative info about foreigners rather than saying "a local was caught abusing their foreign partners", no that would hurt the image of their own country. Instead, "a foreigner abused their local partners" would get more attention and get people more involved such as local government and people because you know, have to protect your own than foreigners.
Having a hardworking husband and a supportive wife is what makes a happy family. I love how they raised their kids and they still keep in touch with their relatives in Philippines. A mother is the light of the family. We love how they accepted a Filipina in that community.
I hope they get paid here so they can pay their debt. They’re so beautiful, we only wish them success and more love in their family. Bless all of you!!
After watching this lovely family, I couldn't care less of my degree in college, or having a job, or even having a career. All of I can think of is how happy it is to live the rest of your life in a simple way with your own family who loves and cares for each other. This is truly a true definition of bliss. God bless to this family!
Her husband is obviously inlove with her. The way he looks at her and the way he smiles at her. He looks at her with so much admiration. That’s so nice to see considering that Korean men (not everyone) are considered cold when it comes to relationship although they’re inlove, many of them are just not as affectionate.
omg this family is literally just so sweet. I love how the sons and her husband were all supporting her when she said that she wanted a job. 😭you could literally see the love they have for each other! 😍Really respect how the parents taught their sons. All the sons are so mature and its so nice to see them being helpful to their parents with their work. I was shook with what the second son, Hwamok (?), said to Serin at 43:15. Those are some wise words. 👏🏼 Just want to say how this episode has become one of my favorites! ❤️My Neighbor, Charles, thank you fo being such an amazing show! It helps me learn more about families like them that live in Korea! 😊
They're lucky their mom is Pinay at least she can teach them English. The mom is smart, she knows the importance of having her kids learn her second language in the Philippines. At least, if they can't learn tagalog yet, they can communicate to their relatives in the Philippines in English.
Filipinas are cheerful, loyal and industrious. They are loving wives and caring mothers. Give them love and they will give back tenfold. Serin is the light of her family and the source of much happiness.
I suddenly wanted to live like how they live instead of living in a luxury that I always dreamt. They look so happy. I want to have a husband like him. 😭😭😭
“If a person has ugly thoughts, it begins to show on the face. And when that person has ugly thoughts every day, every week, every year, the face gets uglier and uglier until you can hardly bear to look at it. A person who has good thoughts cannot ever be ugly. You can have a wonky nose and a crooked mouth and a double chin and stick-out teeth, but if you have good thoughts it will shine out of your face like sunbeams and you will always look lovely.” - Roald Dahl. This family is so beautiful. You can see the kindness and generosity shining from their face. Especially the father, he just looks incredibly gentle, understanding and kind. They've brought their 3 sons up so well too. Wishing them all the best!
this made me tear up. like they mentioned in the episode, many filipina women seeking out better opportunities abroad often find themselves in abusive relationships. i'm so happy serin and her friends have found safety and comfort in their families. such a wholesome episode. :((
well because of their conversation i remembered my aunt who died 6 yrs ago in China she died because of the abuse it makes me guilty that i did not have a chance to talk to her even for once.
“Mom, don’t let failure get you down. Success is always nearby, but we just can’t find it.” 43:15 Thank you for that, young man. That was awakening 😊❤️
I love this show especially when it's have a filipina/filipino they interviewed. Also they both respect each other culture & traditions. Hope more filipinos featured on this show. 😊

What a sweet family~ I hope Serin finds out what she likes doing and then can work in that field or maybe even start her own business! Also kudos for the guy that sells the cow‘s food to them! How generous is that to keep selling him the food even though they couldn‘t pay for 3 Months :( I hope they make a lot of money with the seaweed and cows so they can pay them back and don‘t have to worry about that~

it's nice to see family stories like this. She really got a good husband, who loves her and supports her. He really seems to be a good man, only a few would openly show that kind of affection which she truly deserves. What a lovely korean/filipino family! I couldn't help but feel proud because the wife shows what a true Filipino is... :)
I like how she raised her sons to be open to their family just like typical Filipino family. Korean children are shy and don't open that much to their parents
women who used to work for a long time will definitely miss working, it's the independent feeling, you can do your thing without your husband and the feeling that you also bring money to the family. it's not just the money but also self fulfillment and self respect
This is refreshing for me to see a successfully happy couple with their family especially that she's a filipina with a korean husband, because most of the videos and news I've seen before says filipina battered wife.
You could easily say how this family is such a loving family! It warms my heart seeing her three sons being a lovely & respectful children & her husband is very sweet & caring! You're indeed lucky to have them. Bless this family! ❤
Their kids have really good personalities. They were raised well. And they have an overall happy disposition. It's a very refreshing thing. Hope for the best for them💕
I am so proud of Serin as a woman and a Filipino. She is clearly the one who holds her family together. I love that her husband respects her and shows his love and encourages his children to do the same. Even their fight over debts was cute. They just said their views about the problem and did not say hurtful things to each other. Such love and respect. They really are a match made in heaven. I would say that it's a miracle that they found each other. Everybody in this episode made me smile and feel good.

Feels like I fell inlove with this family that inspite of cultural differences and hardships of living in a far away island they still living a happy and contented life.. I have met koreans that are good but there's also some who are not so it's really nice that they ended up meeting each other and be forever.
It's good that she's educated. Nobody will look down on her. She can cook, she's kind and loving, she do house works and she earns money. She's also lucky to have a loving husband. A Filipino household is full of love no wonder they're so happy

I never thought of a filipina having a loving, loyal and caring korean husband... bcs all of the news I've heard was a battered filipina wife
I haven't heard those bad news though rip
Same thing. I just like the actors or idols but marrying off to a korean didn't cross my mind at all.
But my cousin is happily married to korean man they currently have 2 daughters .
@Georgina lovelots I actually agree with anon.

@Georgina lovelots they're already hateful enough. Eventually locals will ignore that news, be in denial and would say it's "false claim".
