Not really a negative, but I figured The Crow was going to be a threat. Almost like the koi fish. When I first started the game I assumed The Crow was going to follow me around or interact with the environment. Since the player is the size of a bug it would make sense. Perhaps you have to stay out of sight of The Crow as you traverse the backyard. I’m sure the Devs had more plans for The Crow.
I think the upper yard point is valid but I think it was done on purpose , the upper yard I’m guessing is supposed to be where all the tier 3 insects are … So I’m guessing it’s more to up the difficulty so the upper yard would feel more dangerous to travel
I can buy that idea, but you can't walk 10 feet without getting attacked up there. There are other ways to make it difficult without dumping every insect up there lol.
@@OriginalRyan lol true true , I think maybe that point you also said about it just being put out .. I think it needed more time in the oven hopefully they release DLC in the future.
Oh 100%. It really feels rushed. Look at the labs in the upper yard, one is just a walkway to an optional boss, the other a walkway to the Mant (unless you count the undershed, but that's another case of insect dumping to fill the void), & the last is a lab turned sideways requiring obnoxiously frustrating jumps. Definitely doesn't feel fleshed out as I think many of us had hoped.
@@OriginalRyan OMG I was streaming doing the sideways lab , I instantly got frustrated and cut it off .. it definitely a good game that could be a lot better I was definitely surprised how hooked it had me compared to other survival games. I’m starting to think they didn’t know it would get as big as it’s getting. I really hope they invest into the game.
Pets are really bad too. I built my base where it's unreachable for ants. I got a pet weevil in a pet house and suddenly worked ants can teleport into my base. I just ended up trapping the weevil on top of the stump wall and just left it there for the passive buff.
Oh yeah, the pets are completely useless! Before they patched the pet backpack, they were nice for the extra slots, but now they are a waste of time. Good point!
The quests are totally stupid. I gave up on trying early on. The first quests were impossible for the stage of the game, then I started getting stupidly easy quests towards the end. And I shouldn't have to craft a bee mask when I already have better armor and I know I'm not even going to use it. But by this point I don't really need the extra raw science anyway. They should start off with the easier tasks that actually help you progress, then gradually ramp up the difficulty.
Also about a week ago I get on the game and every one of my armor and weapons were half broke and they were all full health when I got off. Did you have that . Everything you talked about I have experienced.
They adjusted the durability of weapons & armor so all of your gear reflects its former durability. They didn't, for whatever reason, keep your gear at 100%, though so we're forced to repair our gear because of the change.
I agree with a lot of this though the bug ai has been improved you can still trick it. The making of your own upgrade materials happens so late it's almost not even worth it. But the phasing problem I don't think it's a bug I feel like our builds don't exist when we aren't looking at them. So wolf spider walks into our place then we get there and the game builds it around the wolf spider. At least I've never seen one actually phase through a wall. But I have. Seen them go off screen to phase through one.
I want you to Google what a termite or a "ladybird beetle" looks like. I do agree the ants should probably get some changes, like the black ants being bigger but.. it's really like you've never been outside.
I want you to Google how to understand someone else's opinion. You might learn that it means "one's own thoughts or ideas on a particular subject." I understand what a termite & a ladybird beetle look like, my point is that they could've introduced OTHER insects as opposed to reskinning ladybugs & ants. Thanks for the enlightening comment though!
@@OriginalRyan I think he's got the point. In real life red ants, black ants and fire ants do look strikingly similar, just their colour and size is different. I don't know what the solution would be in this case besides re-skinning. Why would someone spend time re-drawing the same ant over and over again. Also, they had a fire ant queen boss which for some reason they cut out of the game (.
In terms of insects, I just want different insects with different combat & casual mechanics. Ants can be ants, but they're broken in the game. The Ant Queen is probably coming since they've been adding new bosses, but basic insects, I'd like to see some differences.
So I was playing grounded and for some reason, my house just got randomly destroyed. I have no idea what happened because I wasn't even near the house at the time it got destroyed but what's weird is that I made a building next to my house that was also damaged and partly destroyed but the house had 5 stories and 3 stories completely disappeared and there was grass and weed stems on the floor from all of the other stories that used to be built up on the house. I think this was a glitch but idk one day I was playing with my brother on grounded on the same world and he said that the house was completely destroyed on his screen but on my screen, it was perfectly fine. If anyone knows why this happened please tell me.
That's super weird. Are they old saves or new saves? Single or multiplayer? Updated? There's a lot of potential issues that could've caused the issue. I wouldn't call it a glitch, though. Likely disconnected server issues.
@@OriginalRyan It was a new save on multiplayer the day before this all happened and I was playing with my brother and his friend and everything was perfectly fine. They got off and I just started grinding the game I wasn't even near the house for most of the time I was playing only when I had to sleep. But I had gotten on the day after all that grinding and I just see all the materials from the house just falling down and most of the house had been destroyed somehow.

Regarding raids ... having multiple insect types raiding at the same time would only really work for multiplayer, or for top tier solo players. You mentioned how you hated that the Upper Yard had too many insects all together, yet suggested that raids be exactly like that. The (re?)introduction of raids to Early Access earlier this year made me stop playing until full release ... it just wasn't fun having dozens of insects swarming your base and not having any help. I'd agree that the full release raids are too easy, but I doubt most casual players would enjoy having a raid where Black Ox beetles, Bombardier Beetles, Tiger Mosquitos, Dust Mites, and Ladybird Larvae all attack together and don't fight each other. It just wouldn't be fun to lose a base that took dozens of hours to build because of a raid the player had no chance of winning.
I'm not saying a full raid of every difficult insect, but more difficulty & perhaps a set date/time for the raid to happen so you can actually prepare to defend. More traps would be nice, useful ones. The insects should all have a faction meter with their hostility towards you & if a few fill at the same time, then you'd be raided as such. You could even have insects with set factions with other insects in an effort to lower the hostility towards you. It could've been done much better is what I'm saying.
@@OriginalRyan Im kind of a newer player. I played in the very beginning when the hedgemother was still on the frisbee. And I started playing again a week ago. A few ig days later i got raided and the insects were so quick that they destroyed a wall and my chest with all my quartz and marbles in it. So ye that sucked.
It is difficult to deal with raids at the start although I've never experienced one so early. My suggestion would be to build up high, some insects jump, but for areas like the top of the baseball, you're completely safe.
@@OriginalRyan yeah it was a few ig days for me but it was a shared world with some friends who already started playing. I agree 100% with the overall A.I needing improvement...it's not fun when bugs get stuck on flat ground or get stuck inside the terrain/structures.....unless it's the Widow, i'm cool with that 😂
Most of your things aren’t “bad”. The reskin thing just saves time so they don’t waste time making something they don’t need to make. With the AI thing it’s not bad AI, it just glitches in places it isn’t meant to be. The mutations would be too OP if you don’t need to turn it on.
