- Part 2 of our series is mean to put the Holosun through its paces. Most budget optics can't hold up to repeated use and will typically have one of several things happen. 1) the reticle has issue with either flickering on and off or completely going out due to poor electronics 2) the housing fogs up or gets water in it 3) the mount or hardware becomes loose.
This optics had neither of those issues after putting over 1000 rounds through the rifle in 2 days. Not to mention the amount of water and temperature changes it was subject to.
The rifle is a Battle Rifle Company BR4 Spectre. You can see my earlier review of that rifle here: • Video
I just wanted to add that I also have a holosun for about a year and a half. and I have not had any failures. it's all ways on when I need.
My holosun hasn’t failed me yet with about 5000 rounds through it. Great sight!
I bought the ACSS micro and the quality is amazing! Shot it on my 16" AR at 300-400-500 and the BDC was spot on with M-193! I ended up getting 3 of them!
The BDC is pretty darn accurate with m855 through a 14.5 too. I've used it out to 500 yards.
Why is everyone 30 lbs overweight?
Then you will like a video im putting together for release around Christmas time
They aren't. A lot of them are 50+lbs overweight.
Stephen McNichol Because they think they're tacticool now
thequantumvacuum it's more fun that way.
based on everyone's comments I'm starting to get the feeling that y'all believe that only fit people are able to train and be effective with a firearm. I'm betting that those 50lb+ overweight guys can shoot just as good if not better that a fit guy. How many people here had a teacher in school or college that looked stupid yet they still educated you. I fail to see what body type has to do with the fundamentals of life protection. Just my point of veiw.
most of the guys in the video should probably exercise a bit more because if shtf and they had to run for 100y they would drop dead
Tactical fat for when the food shortages start lol
if I would have showed up and seen those couch potatoes teaching that class I would have turned right back around and went home
With that kind of mindset you might miss some of the best information you could ever receive from a great instructor. The instructor you were in reference too is a great dude and I guarantee you wouldn't make that comment to him today. He is a beast of a man (Super Jacked) His name is Jerry Nuss... Look him up on FB. Don't judge a book by its cover... This could get you killed on the street, misjudging a threat.
Yoda out
Emphasis on the word "IF"
Now if oniy half those guys were as dedicated to losing weight as they were hauling their heavy asses across the field
Losing weight is a very bad idea . They will get thin in 15 days of scrambling around when war breaks out and shipping gets all jacked up and food doesn't come to texas much or sporadically. The fat gives them a calorie cushion. A lean bastard goes DIRECTLY into muscle consumption. Not good.
@@jukeboxhero1649 Or you could.. put on muscle so you can actually carry your body weight further than the average line at Micky D's. Lemme see big man over there do a 15 mile march through the woods on with all his gear I'm sure he takes pictures with. You'll find him in a ditch having a heart attack. Physical fitness is required if you think of yourself as a warrior or fighter or whatever it is here.

Assuming you don't have food stored up, or are too incompetent or out of shape to defend it. No, being in shape is better, whether shtf, or not. Lower medical costs, less suffering, more energy available to do things, instead of just wasting energy on movement, longer life span, stronger immune system (because there's less mass for it to patrol).
@@manictiger you can chub up and be in shape. I'm doing sprints, long distance hill bike rides, hiit, and eating good and keeping 12% chub. Great way to carry around some extra dinners. I don't want to go back down to 6% again until it is demanded of me. I eat Irish butter and cheese, take my high quality vitamins and rock AR-Ten lead guitar so I need only hit once. Half a century I been around and my pecker gets hard without any chemical or manual assistance or self assistance and my extra chub. Fat is like burning coal. I been doing long distance crap most of my life and three days in the fat and muscle from the hips up are going into the furnace of distance. It's just that way. I like the guys who carry shovels, axes and big folding saws. That shit makes me laugh!! There will be so many of those tucked inside a tree hole, under a rock overhang and just thrown down. Keep it light on your back, train MFer, and don't carry extra bullshit.
@@christopherobrien4493 you need your 12 to 15 percentage larder on your person. Being lean isn't worth a shit on a 140 hours long run through the mountains to escape. Don't be lean. You'll eat that fat up in the three days out of the suburbs. I know this by multiple experience.
Cost of an AK; $600
Cost of a decent optic: $400
Tactical clothes: $80
Being in shape: priceless
That course doesn't look very safe to me
Of course it's not, it was taught by tactical response.
War and maneuver in war are not safe activities.
@@jukeboxhero1649No, this just borderline looks unsafe and unprofessional.
Then stay at your local "shooting range" staying at the same skill level all year round.
@@mountaintraining9203 Cool, now these guys can look like LARPers and slide around and do barrel rolls with their beer guts swinging.
After 50 rounds of 12ga (32gramm) front lens of my 515 shifted from housing and zero lost as well. XPS2 survived much longer but also have broken after about 1k rounds. H1 still working yet...
man those instructors need training himself.
Man I need friends like you guys
Looks like a good couple days of shooting!!
Twas
I feel like HS has fixed the issues he talks about
Shooting should be done in stressful situations to keep you at top tier fighting capacity
Yall be making me nervous running around without a firing line. Somebodys ganna run out in front of somone shooting on accident.
I love shooting in a early fall rain or an early winter snow as long as I can have low winds, cover over my head with open sides; plus a place to warm my hands and my firearms. I don't ask for much....do I?
Nice tactical mag pick up
would the 503 c work on a ar15 with a a2 front sight post. or is the front post too high. good video
stillsmokin53 it will work comes with a lower 1/3 cowitness mount
I'll second the 1/3rd height mount. If you're shooting with both eyes open a true co-witness is completely doable. You learn pretty quick to ignore the front sight
I'm looking forward to part 3, basically I'm trying to see if an Aimpoint pro is worth it, or go with a Holosun. I do want to ultimately buy a vortex razor hd 2, but in the mean time I want a red dot. Thoughts on this vs an Aimpoint?
If you have the money, buy and aim point pro. If not, this is your best option. I haven't posted my final video but I can tell you I can definitely get behind this optic. What we don't know is the long term durability of these products since the company is so new.
@@CraigSummers Part 3?
I bet all these shit talkers below have never taken a private sector training course. I take fighting pistol next month in Bastrop. I'm stoked.
Still waiting on a part 3
So, where's part three!?
I purchased this optic with the intention to use it on a home 🏡 defense built I put together, but I am kind of disappointed 😔 with it because if I use the auto mode of always on and try to use it at night it really doesn't work well as soon as I turn the light on the red dot disappears is not bright enough and if I use the manual mode in 12 hours it turns off. My intention was to always have the firearm ready regardless of light conditions but is not the case here, it looks like this little guy might have to go back and start looking for a different model.
Never Enuffguns still a really good optic just the solar panels are worthless
I wish is saw your video before I bought the MRO.
The MRO is on a different level than the holosun optics. Do not regret your purchase. You did well
You say the MRO is on a different level than the Holosun, why is that? Also, if you had $600 to spend on an optic plus mount, what would it be? Just as examples but not limited to, RDS like an Aimpoint Pro, or Vortex Viper or Strike Eagle..etc etc.
Either an MRO or an Aimpoint. The Aimpoint is personally my go to but not everyone has the money nor needs an optic of that high quality. I believe the holosun provides the best value for the money right now. It will hold up to the abuse that an everyday shooter will put it through
+TheRepublicMindset Thanks for the response. The biggest draw to Holosub for me is the ability to change from 2moa dot to the circle dot reticle, I really like having the option. I'll have to find some locally and look at them all to see for myself. Thanks again!
Josh T Higher end Holosun models have that option.
what kind of range is that lmao. people falling and sliding with loaded rifles?
W4yne O they should have worn cleats
That happens in training and combat.
I took Fighting Pistol at this same location.
I took Fighting pistol in 2014 and 2015. Was trying to see if I recognized you
I did as well in 2015.
Took Tactical Marksmanship and High Threat Environment Vehicle (he's since renamed the courses and closed them to cvilians) from Guerilla Approach there in Bastrop/Smithville. The range owner, Rus, is a good dude. He hosts a lot of good outfits there from what I've seen.
Great news
Flagging the shit out of two guys at 5:10… yikes…
I call those the “dark years”
lol
