You know they are horrors, we know they are horrors from watching this, but now everytime someone plays them, they have to bring up a website to prove they are horrors and thats gonna be a headache everytime you play new people and an argument from some
I didn't realize or remember that the Mercenaries had that much evasion. So, let's assume N'gathrod is out (otherwise hitting them with Horrors is the same as hitting with any other creature type). I believe the Horror Mercenaries will do well in a meta where the games are slower. What's nice is that they are cheap to purchase. I just don't know if they're enough on their own. But it is neat, and I could be wrong. The fact that the cards can tutor is huge; it just sucks that you have to either tutor or attack with one of them.
@BlankAurora I'm going to be honest; I didn't catch that they're put into play. Yes, you can. You'll just have to keep enough mana open. For me, it depends. If I play a deck where I'll want to keep mana open (I want to cast a lot of instants; maybe specifically during opponents' turns) or I can generate a bunch of mana, then I don't see a problem with that. Otherwise, I guess it's up to you. It's nice to have the option. I guess my only concern is that you'll need a couple of them, then. They tend to cost more than their stats (power, toughness and keywords) would imply. In much the same vein, I feel Fleshwrither would be good here. It can fetch a couple of creatures from the precon, though I wish it had a CMC of 3 instead.
I already had a Horror tribal deck for about a year before this commander was released, using Umbris as the Commander. I'm about to take out like half of the creatures and I'm gonna replace them with regular mill cards, because every time I play this deck, it gets hated out real quick. I usually only steel like 3 things from my opponents. So I'm gonna take it into more of a mill/steal stuff deck. I'm gonna run more mill spells and Agent of Treachery effects. I'll still run a few of the Horrors for that additional mill. But the main theme will be mill spells. That should help increase the amount of things we steal from our opponents
A) Had to be the 13th like. B) This was actually quite a fun video that's making me rethink my current horror tribal deck's synergies. Thanks for the fun ideas.
Absolutely love to see such underappreciated Creature types. Mercenaries really got shunned the moment Rebels got popular, nor have I heard Changelings mentioned since Lorwyn.
CAPTAIN N, THE GAME MASTER Cards like Submerge and Memory Lapse seem great, Mesmeric Orb, Codex Shredder Make sure to include targeted graveyard hate that isn't Leyline of the Void, something like Scrabbling Claws or the like Corpseweft seems like a good one as well
For sure those cheap mill cards are pretty good and i agree but they have a issue, all of them are single target, often in commander format you have to face 2 or more opponents so single target mill effects become weaker, for sure they help a lot in particular if you have Bruvac but obviusly you will go always on multy target mills effects. Other than thanks you for the good tips
Slap Endless Evil onto captain N'gathrod. Get another captain Ngathrod each upkeep, and play an Uchaalon. Every turn you are milling a large number of opponents cards, stealing the creatures you want, and then exiling all the rest. If you really want to be a dick, add a Patriarchs bidding into the deck so you can get all your creatures, (horrors) back and you opponents wont get anything back if you've exiled all their creatures.
given that horror isnt printed on the card its self, idk if that would fly w/o pulling out the internet to search this up and prove it every time... no thanks

I really like N'ghathrod because he looks like Davy Jones from the Pirates of the Carribeans
because he IS based on Davy Jones
Absolutely why I love him
I agree, i hope to get a nice proxy/alternative art on him with davy jones
I did not expect the mercenaries. Spicy!
First video from you and I'm subscribed now too. Thank you for the video!

Consuming Aberration is absolutely incredible with this card.
Fr I don't hear anybody talking about that card and it was the first one that came to my mind when I saw the commander
I mean it comes in the precon 🤷🏻♂️. Consuming aberration goes in every mill deck. Mine at least.
@@mtbbaconbro5236 I’m sure there would be more talk, if they didn’t already have him in the Precon
I like the ones that have fear, or intimidate or swampwalk.
This Capt N is gonna break the game, or at least the graveyard
TIP: If you put this video in 1.5x speed his voice feels normal
That's so wrong but so true

That's legit. I love when old creatures become relevant again.
Thank you guys for all the support I really appreciate it! I do read my comments and I love what you guys have to say
Captain N'ghathrod is one of my favorite commanders.
Why are they horrors if it isn't written on the card though?
Good call! I've always wanted to find a good home for the mercs!
I discovered this recently as well. Those mercenaries are horrors lol
One card I feel would be great for this deck is bruvac the grandiloquent. He would be an incredibly powerful addition for the mill aspect of the deck!
Yes he would. He doubles the mill effect. I remember when he was like $5 and wasn't even on the radar. Now he's Ike $30
@@Commander_Claw oh my goodness! I had no idea!
Hahaha

Changelings have been around though :)
Love this edition
CAPTAIN N,
THE GAME MASTER
Cards like Submerge and Memory Lapse seem great, Mesmeric Orb, Codex Shredder

Corpseweft seems like a good one as well
glad im not the only one that caught this
I like to put to put the h at the end for emphasis, n'gaaaah

how does jace work in here still making them draw cards and exile lirbraries
Cool ideas!
i just slammed in a maskwood nexus and arcane adaptatiom, so now all creatures i steal are also horrors

you do know of the legend rule right
sweeet very nice thank you :) !!!
the mercinaries cost are not really worth it tbh
I dont understood why they are horrors:(
cateran summons
I think everyone's overlooking the fact that pirates have a commander now
pirates have had a couple commanders lol this one has no synergy with other pirates
Admiral Beckett Brass: "am I a joke to you?" 😂
music on point
Misshapen fiend is the only one I like
given that horror isnt printed on the card its self, idk if that would fly w/o pulling out the internet to search this up and prove it every time... no thanks
Would you also not play any hounds because it's not printed that they are dogs?
@@UsernameXOXO if they are called hounds and not dogs, but I needed “dog” specifically… then no I would not use them.
YAAAAAAARG!
I was pronouncing his name way wrong.
"Captain Noodles" is acceptable
nice
Or just run mill enchantments and artifacts for a much more consistent mill
you pronounce the N like ‘IN’ fyi
The Captain has the N word pass!! 😅😂 Captain Throd is his real name, but everyone keeps calling him the N word!! 🤣🤣😂😂 Zero respect for the Captain!!!
