While I commend the Sheikh for wanting the majority of lay Muslims to stick to one of the four schools of fiqh, at around @28.40, he makes the usual useless claims of the scholars of the four schools. Perhaps he should have explained to his audience, in Islamic history, there have been several schools of fiqh. Imam Tabari had his own school of fiqh, Ibn Hazm wrote an entire encyclopaedia of fiqh based on the Zaheeri school of law, called ‘al muhalla’. Is Dr Shadee seriously considering anyone who follows Ibn Hazm ‘deviant’ ? When it comes to the ritualistic acts of Islam; salat, fasting, hajj, umrah, etc , they have been perfectly preserved. Umar was the caliph for 10 years and would have lead the daily prayers in the Prophet’s[saw] masjid. The Sunnah has been preserved. What is really important for Muslims is to understand the law when it comes to: 1. When the Qur’aan and Sunnah only give a general principle , 2. When the Qur’aan and Sunnah are silent and give no ruling. This is when most educated Muslims are really not interested in the opinions of imams who have long passed away.

Very strong criticism and praise. What is your credentials brother? Assuming your qualified what other alternative do you suggest and how is it better than majority of scholars agreed understanding of islam?

He already explained that there have been abandoned schools of Fiqh in other NBF episodes in the past, not to mention that it is irrelevant to mention that in the context of teaching laypeople about the importance of the four madhabs, and he even explains that in the timestamp you marked: "Just because you see it in a book it doesn't mean its a sound transmission"
Moreover, there is an agreement between scholars of Ahlul Sunnah that after the Four Madhabs have been perfectly preserved/transmitted, have thoroughly covered all what needed to be covered, and found acceptance among the general community of scholars: it is impermissible to exit the space of the four Madhabs.
This is common knowledge in the books of Usul al-Fiqh and I'm unsure whether you're seriously unaware of this or is it that you're disingenuous?
"What is really important for Muslims....."
Is to follow an Imam that can explain the rulings to them. Understanding 'how' rulings are isn't really in the capacity of the average person, think how doctors give medicine to non-doctors , and those "imams who have long passed away" (novelty fallacy) have done a better job than most or all scholars after them in explaining the primary sources of Islam, that's why we follow them, and if you think they didn't, point out you think does....
P.S: FYI Zahirism isn't considered a real Madhab, they have no principles to unite on from the first place, and they consider Ijtihad obligatory on every single person. (in al-Muhalla for example).

    • @sparephone8228
      @sparephone8228 8 месяцев назад

Thank you for the lengthy essay on why following the four schools of fiqh has now become 'obligatory' in Sunni islam! Do you know how ridiculous you sound? Do you have any idea what taqleed has done to the Muslim ummah? Do you not even think why the Qur'an and sunnah give general principles in most of the ahkam ad Deen? Have you even read the sahih hadith in Muslim where a common lay Muslim asked the prophet about matters he the Prophet has not spoken about? If you had, then you would understand why Ibn hazm quotes it in the introduction to al muhalla.

It seems you have neither studied the Quran nor Sunnah or a book of Fiqh in your life. You're absolutely clueless on what you're talking about, don't confuse the people here with your deviant personal opinions. As for those interested in learning, I highly recommend reading Shaykh Abdul Hakim Murad's article called "Understanding the Four Madhhabs: The Problem with Anti-Madhhabism", and the new videos on Madhabs here.

@@muhammadan.inheritors It seems you have never studied a book of fiqh in your life either, as you are equally clueless why most educated Muslims are so repelled by them. To summarise, in the words of Muhammad Asad, a great scholar who followed the Zaheeri school of law, ‘….the sharia will no longer be the subject of hair splitting books of fiqh..’. Asad was referring to the various ‘methodologies’ employed by scholars of fiqh e.g. qiyasis, pseudo Ijma, local custom..etc. The only thing that is Devine and eternal are the nassus of the Qur’aan and Sunnah. And what we mean by Sunnah is those 100% authentic statements of the Prophet[saw] or physical actions. But as I have already stated , when it comes to the basic ritualistic acts of Islam, Umar was the caliph for 10 years, he would have led the daily prayers in the Prophet’s masjid, the Sunnah has been preserved perfectly.

      Prophet followed Qur'ān alone.
      Qur'ān (Surah Yunus) 10:15 (U.M.)
And when Our verses are recited to them as clear evidences, those who do not expect the meeting with Us say, "Bring us a Qur’ān other than this or change it." Say, [O Muḥammad], "It is not for me to change it on my own accord. I only follow what is revealed to me. Indeed I fear, if I should disobey my Lord, the punishment of a tremendous Day."

10:47 "May be Heﷺ did it(Raf'ul yadayn) once or twice"
Although I m a Hanafi but I disliked the wordings used by Sheikh, most likely it was not meant to be what he said it was in a flow.
It's better to say that ibn 'Umar only wanted to say Heﷺ used to do it but it was not his last practice till his last breath.
An important note to the people about this issue that
The Malikis and Hanafis don't deny that the practice of Raf'ul was never done by Rasoolﷺ or Sahabah, this is a misconception more of a misunderstanding. Our view is that it was done but later on it was abrogated by Rasoolﷺ himself.

Most-Persons whom even entertain those Types of Assumptions, that Madhāhib/Religio-Legal Schools "follow Desires" honestly have 0-Idea how al-Fiqh (Religio-Legal Analysis) even works.
And, in All-Justice/Fairness: even Muslims whom don't claim any Madhāhib (Legal-Schools)-At This-Point, relative to the Revelation of The Qur'ān
(for the past Millennium, A.H./C.E.): it's almost impossible for any Muslim to not be influenced
    via any Madhab (Legal-School).

Jazak Allah khair brother couldn’t have said it better myself. Nothing bothers me more than people giving fatwas based on a single Hadith when they don’t know that even Hadith has tafsir and in most occasions there are numerous Hadith on that same matter. Almost all scholars viewed the same single Hadith they cite yet come with different conclusions not because they reject the Hadith but rather because they understand it in context. Unfortunately so many want to be scholars without putting in the work to become one.

Obligation: The Shafi'i school maintains that both the Eid and Jumu'ah prayers are obligatory, and attending the Eid prayer does not exempt one from the Jumu'ah prayer.
Evidence: The position is based on the general obligation of Jumu'ah as specified in the Quran (Surah Al-Jumu'ah, 62:9) and Hadith, where there is no explicit indication that the occurrence of Eid can exempt the obligation of Jumu'ah.
Reference: Al-Majmu' Sharh al-Muhadhdhab, Volume 4, under the section on the combination of Eid and Jumu'ah prayers
Reference: Nihayat al-Matlab, Volume 2, under the chapter on the rulings of Jumu'ah and Eid prayers.

Don’t be a fool and strictly follow one madhab. Men are not free of mistake. All 4 great ulema of the madhahib wanted people to follow that which they followed only when it’s upon proof however if they were wrong in their ijtihad then they wanted us to reject it and follow that which became apparent to be the more correct conclusion. The 4 scholars were all sincere and wise in all of their work but they are not revelation from Allah. The safest way to come to the correct conclusion on a ruling is to learn the opinion from all 4 scholars on that particular scenario and see what proofs each scholar came with, you will find in some situations that 3 of the scholars ruled on something, where the 1 scholar ruled in an opposing opinion but yet after breaking down the evidences, you’ll see the 1 scholar is correct in that particular ruling even though the majority of them ruled different. My point is, all 4 of the scholars are to be followed WITH THE DALEEL BEING CORRECT. If you were to NOT take from just 1 of the scholars then you’ve done yourself a disservice

Asalamu3laikum, you really gon research all those? If you do, will you follow one methodology or pick and choose what feels better in the moment? Also you are strawmanning ahlus sunnah, there are many many many more scholars that follow and build upon the manhaj of the great imams, each checking each other based on their methodology. I pray Allah shows us the truth and brings us closer to Him.

@@majesticsoysauce8648 my question to you is, if you follow one madhab. Say if from that madhab there is a ruling on a specific matter, then a different ruling is presented to you from another madhab which contradicts the ruling of the madhab you follow, then you see the sahih Hadith which gives you a clear evidence and goes against the ruling from the madhab you follow. What do you think is correct and what would you do? 1. Take the ruling from your madhab 2. Take the ruling from the other madhab

@@Kay-sd1fw If you want to know why is there a difference, you need to know more than just the quote of a Hadith. For example, Imam Abu hanifa held that the Hadith that you should make wudhu after touching your private part didn’t mean you should fully redo wudhu because of his methodology of not ruling by an Ahad Hadith when it is a common practice that everyone should do as a Muslim but there is only one narration, while according to imam Malik’s methodology of following the consensus of the scholars of Medina brought him to the conclusion that this Hadith should be taken as a ruling because the scholars all did remake their wudhu when they touched their hand. Imam shafai’s method is that if a Hadith is sahih then he rules upon it, so he would rule by this Hadith aswell and also imam ahmad bin hanbal. Based on their methodology, they came to different conclusions, which are all valid. Like the Hadith of rasulallah salalahualayhi Wa salam when they were directed by the prophet sallallahu alayhi Wa salam to pray in khaibar and one group prayed their asr on the way so they wouldn’t miss it as the sun was setting, and the other group prayed asr in khaibar after the sun had set already, based on their differing understanding of the meanings of the Hadith and their methodology of finding the correct ruling. Rasulallah sallalahu alaihi Wa salam said they were both correct, the group that prayed on time and the group that prayed late at khaibar. And Allahu Alam
