    • @silviopina_111
      @silviopina_111 Год назад +6

@@bilalhamurabi3362 I think most people would find that if they correctly gave IF a try, they could (1) totally do it (2) it would benefit them tremendously.
I used to do 2 days of 24hrs each week and was doing great. Now I'm trying a daily window, work in progress. Normally I do 16-8, but will be switching to 18-6 and possibly go back to the 2 (different) days of 24. Recently I stretched my 16 to 22 and I felt super-great, full of energy and clarity. You DO have to practice getting over the pesky "ghrelin" 👾, the appetite hormone that knocks on your stomach at every "old habitual" meal time to try to convince you you need to eat 😋. That feeling is NOT "real hunger" it is "habitual appetite" the body trying to keep the status quo . Once you pass 16-18 hours, you don't even think about eating, you just feel great and become super-woman/man/person 💪💥
Unfortunately the BIG PROBLEM, is an important message 🎙 that seems to fall through the cracks of educating about Intermittent Fasting. The problem is many people "trying", cause they heard of it, but omitting some very important steps, such as "bookending" your fast with good satiating fats
🥑🍳🥓(essentially a keto meal) AND, most importantly drinking plenty in between AND also very, very importantly, adding a pinch of SALT in their drink (I add lemon or ACV and salt
💦🧂🍋). By not doing that , by - for example - eating a plate of mostly carbs pasta or cereal and then imagining they can fast for hours AND not drinking water and salt, they all end up with a very uncomfortable feeling, possibly a headache throwing in the towel and saying "I tried" or "happy this works for you, it does not work for me" or "this is not for everybody".
While the latter is definitely true, it only applies to a very limited/specific group of people, with specific conditions, but actually fasting really works for most people, if done right. Otherwise it wouldn't have been passed on for millennia of generations. Maybe someone should do a a video and call it:
      "IF works... "IF" done right"...
... or something like that. I am soooo frustrated 😭😭😭with dear friends who are "pre" or just became diabetics, or very overweight and won't give this a good try. But of course I don't nag... I am just quietly sorry and always happy to explain when they are ready to hear.
I hope for you that understanding WHAT to eat especially before a fast and what to do in-between, might encourage you to try. Don't try 22 hours from scratch. Start by skipping one meal and slowly restricting your eating window 🕰 . Good luck, human! 🤗💪

In 4 months into the 18/6 blood sugar level is stabilized between 4.9-5.2, my weight dropped from 162 lbs to 150, with a height of 172 cm I feel very comfortable in maintaining my regular exercise program which consist of cycling 50 miles twice a week, rowing machine everyday 20 minutes, high bar hanging for stretching for a few minutes. Also like to add after watching your lecture on the effects of sunlight therapy I started to take advantage of the NIR and UVB from sunlight at noon for 15 minutes, I have never felt better in my life before.

It is interesting to note that western doctors are now promoting fasting. When fasting was introduced as part of yoga in USA back in 1960's by Indian gurus, the medical science vehemently opposed it. According to the scientists, human body cells constantly need food. If they do not get the food, the cells die, which is called auto-phage. Medical doctors completely prevented the normal people from fasting as a method to cleanse the body. Fasting is most common in India. As per Hindu traditions, fasting is part of life. Obviously, western science cannot promote fasting as it was mainly attributed to Hindu religion.
I am glad now the western science is quietly accepting fasting as a way to heal your body.
Just like yoga grew in popularity since 1990's, many of the other popular hindu treatments, such as using "turmeric", "Ashwagandha", and other herbs to promote health are gaining momentum.
It is better to copy healing methods of hindu and other eastern traditions, than stay behind and demean eastern cultures.

Great video that is presented in a way that is easy to follow and full of excellent advice and information. I think everyone needs to consider each of us are different so there's no set of specific rules that will produce the same exact type of results. For me the general guidelines of eliminating all eating after 6pm and then not having any food until 10am the following day has been very effective in terms of significant weight loss, improved energy and mood and maybe most importantly lowering my blood pressure. Now keep in mind I'm not the same as you so the IF schedule that is working so well for me might not be what will work best for you. I will admit that after always looking forward to getting up in the morning and eating some type of breakfast for my entire life and then switching to not eating anything at all until after 10am every day was very difficult at first. But after the first week to 10 days passed, it became so much easier to stick to my now well established routine. Recommend to give IF a try, you will likely be amazed at the results and the positive changes that occur in your life.

Virtue requires a larger steak! To be honest I don't notice much difference in my life on fast days. There is a feeling that something is different, rather like trying to remember something you forgot, but no discomfort. Weight appears consisten at 103 to 105 kg. As with an earlier video what I am seeing is the body is adapted chemically to the state when the sun is 'up' during daylight. A state common as we evolved thousands and thousands of years ago. Great to know our body is doing its best in the state of being in the stone age; however, we are not hunting, eating, gathering wood to burn, and doing labor during the daylight hours exclusively, anymore. Our live style has changed over the last one hundred or so year, but the body has not. That is a good thing as hesitating to change to the latest fad might not be the best. However, to know and consider balancing through knowledge is definitely the best approach.

if you have insufficient nutrients then its called starving not fasting. Limit consumption of plant based food because the essential nutrients are available in abundance in meat, seafood eggs, and optional dairy without minimal side effects. Most people fast without enough nutrients from natural sources. OMAD is ok long term and some random 48-72 hrs maybe 3x a year. The body can adjust to stresses. It can adjust to fasting hence the same repeated fasting schedule and duration can have diminishing returns. This is almost like exercise. 20 reps of push ups if done regularly can become easier over time. You have to keep the body guessing like in nature. Our ancestors had some hunting failures which is the incidental fast we ideally should replicate.

We should stop considering 16/8 as IF if all we are doing is eating 3 normal meals a day. That is simply eating like we did before the 1980s. 2 meals before 2pm and a sit down dinner with the family by 6pm. This is (was) normal. Hence the term breakfast. Do yourself a favor and either eat normally or eat normally and fast (20/4 or longer). 16/8 is not fasting. It is just having break fast....
I am just shocked that 16/8 is some special restriction. I mean how bad were we eating? Rhetorical question. Sometimes i envy the simpler times. Most times.
