Finally someone saying what I’ve been thinking. I don’t understand why any bag lining over a specific price point is not made out of suede, leather, or silk.
Chanel and Celine are my favorite fashion houses, but as you’ve stated Chanel’s quality is not consistent across the board. Chanel’s aesthetic is SO my style and bc of that I’m considering investing in the ready to wear vs. everything else. I’ve fallen so in love with Celine!🖤 The leather on their shoes/bags is just so impressive to me.
I've been sticking with vintage chanel based on everything you said. Plus there's less styles with caviar leather, the long straps are rarely removable when there's a top handle on the bag as well and they cop out with two tone hardware instead of two separate hardware selections for the same style (like they do with the classic).
I’ve also noticed that Chanel shoes aren’t made with the best quality. I had a pair of leather sneakers that completely fell apart after just getting them wet, a pair of espadrilles with stitching that came loose after BARELY wearing them and recently a pair of boots whose sole completely detached from the bottom of my boot. I was so sad and confused because the sole wasn’t loose previously. Mind you, the boots are fairly new as I’ve had them for less than a year. Fortunately, I found a cobbler who made me a new sturdy sole and the boots looked brand spanking new again. But at the same time, I’m SO disappointed with the poor craftsmanship of their shoes.

Wow!! Great video! Your skin is glowing and the quality of the video is amazing the colors of the handbags are jumping out of the screen the green color is so beautiful! The Bottega green is unbelievable! I've actually seen that leathersmith channel and I did see where he said that Chanel was very poor construction. I can't believe how thin their handbags are. For the price point, the bags should not be falling apart so easily and have to be handled with that much care. Have a wonderful trip!

I’m the same way. I don’t mind paying the premium, but make the quality match. I haven’t bought from Chanel because they also don’t repair their bags if they’re older than 10 years and I don’t think any bag that you’re paying thousands of dollars for should not be able to be repaired.

If you have some thing that was passed down from a great grandparent and it’s not in your purchase history, the brand will still repair it. The catch is that there are very limited things they can do to repair canvas. This is why I always advise people to go with any of the Louis Vuitton leather options. I have seen people bring in bags that I know they bought second hand online and have them repaired.
Tanner Leatherstein did do a short on a Bottega wallet which highly disappointed him so while I also love Bottega (Ive been using the small loop for 6 months now), the brand doesnt seem to hold up across the board
Yes but having the product and using them for a long time and going to the boutique to experience them firsthand is credible and that's the point of this video. You can literally feel and see the difference in quality, complexity and craftsmanship not to mention longevity.
That lining is most likely a blend of wool, silk, cotton, and or linen woven together love. That is not cheap to do and you are not cheated. The 19 is a puffy slouch bag. It's made exactly how is was supposed to be made. It wasn't meant to be the stiff like the double flap. You really shouldn't be getting your facts from tiktok. Sheesh, I digress...
I get that but what's your experience? My opinion is based on using the product and realizing it does not hold up over time. A bag that costs so much should not fall apart and look worn so easily no matter what it is made of. Bags are to be enjoyed, not sit on a shelf.

If a bag has silk or real suede lining good luck getting stains out. At least micro suede is easier to clean and maintain.
