Never seen this. Who would have imagined Meatloaf and Stephen Fry in a sketch. Bat out of He'll was a superb album. When our daughters were young (3-5) they would say from the back of the car, 'Put on the noisy one dad' and on would go the track and the volume would be cranked up. Haven't played it for a while, but I will now. RIP Meatloaf.
Genuinely funny! Never had seen this one. Meatloaf did have some acting talent and a voice that was incredible! Two out of Three Ain't Bad was simply AWESOME! I hope his ending was peaceful.
I forgot how excellent Stephen Fry is at sketch comedy. Meat will be missed, what a character! :( Though it's cold and lonely in the deep dark night, I can see paradise by the dashboard light :(
I forgot about this! I remember now watching it and having a right laugh. Meat was always up for a bit of fun. Farewell fat person with a knife. When will we see your likes again?
This brings it all back, and other things. I watched it when it first broadcast and I was too young to understand the concepts really, but Stephen Fry breaks it down for Meatloaf and incidentally explained the terms for me in a way I understood- at a tender age - so I thought “oh, right, a mother lover, not always a good thing then, in fact can be really really bad…”. Only the second time I’ve seen the sketch and a lot funnier than I remember, my brain was too busy at the time working out a lot of new concepts :- ) Can’t believe he’s gone, was Meatloaf was an institution and one of those rare things, a well spring for creativity and joy.
Loved him so much. Rock n roll in Heaven is filling up with the greats. At least if we get to go there, the best musicians in the history of music will be jamming. RIP Sir Meatloaf, you will be misses
I grew up listening to Meat. Love Bat out of Hell and Bat out of Hell 2. Sadly never got to see him live but I have seen many clips on TV and RUclips to know he would have been amazing.
Very sad to hear that Meatloaf passed away. He was said to be a great gentle caring man. We're losing far too many talented people... 💔Rest peacefully Meatloaf.💔
Another legend gone, who had to struggle long and hard to receive recognition for his immense talents......I hope he can 'see Paradise by the Dashboard Light' now.
Grew up with bat out of hell.... :( 2 outta 3 aint bad, was by far my favorite, but the whole LP, was covered in epic songs... RIP Michael Lee Aday... A.K.A Meat Loaf...
Rest in peace Meat Loaf. What a singer and all round dude. 😔
It's Meat Loaf. Two words. But yes, he was amazing.
@Jac K do wot?
Edit: Ha!! A throwaway channel! A troll then. Even now...
@@andemaiar Thanks dude I appreciate it - my mistake.
He was definitely round....
What a terrible singer! No wonder he had to flee Australia! They should have sued him to get the money back!
RIP and long live Meat Loaf (September 27, 1947 - January 20, 2022), aged 74
You will always be remembered as a legend.
"No no, the other sign please..."
A hugely justified round of applause for a man entirely in the spirit of scene 🤣
Stephens subtle adknowledgement was good.

Another sad, lost link to my youth. A man of great talent and humour. Hilarious sketch.
Meat Loaf once said "The angels had guitars before they had wings".
Now they are strumming along to a great entertainer. RIP ML
I can't believe he's gone, but heaven gained a bat out a hell kinda singer. Show them how it's sang! RIP MEATLOAF
I love how they just rescued the sketch when it looked like they were going to corpse but they got through it!
You don't what you've got till it's gone. Life well lived. Great sport, also loved the energy of Saturday Live.

Love all those not-so-subtle glances at the idiot boards...
0:22 See if I was Steven, I would have cracked up after he said that.
Just beautifully done! As a fan of both these fine men thanks for uploading!
Rest in peace Meat Loaf. What a character and a front man...
Brilliant sketch, RIP Meat, thanks for providing the music to everyones roadtrips ♥️
Just heard!! such a unique entertainer RIP Meat Loaf your music lives on
This is probably why Jacob Rees Mogg has avoided street mugging in W1.
What a great actor, a man of many talents and an amazing musician. RIP Meatloaf as there will never be another like you 💜
Brilliant, amazing how one language can be so differently used.

Great James Brown impression 😂
One of the best sketches on the programme. Hilarious, even more so with Meat Loaf struggling to remember his lines. Thanks for posting!
Fantastic. So sad what happened to him when he got older.
Another legend gone, who had to struggle long and hard to receive recognition for his immense talents......I hope he can 'see Paradise by the Dashboard Light' now.

He's lovely xx good acting
"It's all bottoms with you American's isn't it!" 🇬🇧😉
RIP big guy. Never thought you would do that... 😪
Hey, I remember this, I watched it first time when it was on TV . Saturday live. (Or Friday live for the first series)
Meat Loaf was also famously a huge fan of Monty Python, too. A man of great taste, obviously.
Loved Saturday live , bring it back
I came here because of a Meat Loaf tribute. Rocky Horror was my favorite thing you were in rip Meat.
Jeeves himself just linked this. Fantastic sketch.
You mean Bertie Wooster, Jesse's was the butler played by Hugh Laurie
@@deanwarde7126 Stephen Fry played Jeeves. Hugh Laurie played Bertie Wooster.
@@rodglen8435 Doh !! I had a brain freeze. My bad 👎
I'd forgotten that one. Brilliant.❤️😁🤣
Such a talented person. Hope he rests in peace
Freakin' hilarious.
What a great sport Meatloaf was. He’d often be on our TVs doing sketches and stuff.
He did this kind of stuff before "Bat out of Hell", didn't he?
YEEEEEEEEEESSSSS. Thank you for the post.
The morning came, and he was gone.
RIP you legend.
I got engaged with bat out of hell playing on the car 8 track player in 1978...I loved my hubby and meatloaf.

Grew up with bat out of hell.... :( 2 outta 3 aint bad, was by far my favorite, but the whole LP, was covered in epic songs... RIP Michael Lee Aday... A.K.A Meat Loaf...
I'm willing to bet his "the other sign please" line was done on purpose since he knew the reaction it would get.
Meat Loaf was a naturally funny guy, look up his "interview" with Avid Merrion / Bo Selecta
Brilliant.
Oh no!! I just read that he has passed 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢 My younger brother was practically his double. I'm so sad. Condolences to his family.
I remember this
"I'm a fat person with a kitchen knife"- In more than one stream of time, those are Mr. Fry's last words.
Never seen this before but it’s brilliant.
Stephen's ear still hasn't recovered.
Rest in Paradise Meat loaf.
