Meatloaf is the rock star that wasn’t meant to be. No one was looking for a fat guy guy who sang operatic rock with a frilly shirt and a handkerchief. But his talent made him undeniable.
I didn't know meatloaf personally. He was a member of a exclusive country club I worked at in the mid 90s. I can say, everytime he came by he would have a conversation with me. What made his conversations different from other members. Meatloaf was always genuine in conversation, it was never a formality. He enjoyed the conversations and he listened just as much as he spoke. I always felt meatloaf was my favorite member of that country club. He was such a good person. Thank you for the memories, condolences to his wonderful family.
Reasons why I loved ML. He was so authentic, unapologetic. He spoke his mind. But yet was very authentic and showed his flaws. In other words he was as real as they get. The man walked around with his heart in his hand. Much love to him and his loved ones. 🥰😍❤️
I think he was sexy as hell even as he grew older. Just wish he hadn’t cut his beautiful hair. I would have fallen deeply in love with him back in the day!
yes, you are so right, I saw him once in Germany, 30yrs ago, it was so absolutely great. He had such a presence and radiation in his voice and expression, so powerful, but tender.... just unique and irreplaceable.
What a Legend . Meatloaf , you will NEVER be forgotten by the fans !!! You always sang beautifully . And so cute too. Your music will live on forever. R. I. P. 😭 💙🙏
What a real, authentic, warm human being. I never knew much about him but after I heard him sing the National Anthem I was so moved to tears I had to know more about him. The more I saw the more I felt like I knew him. I discovered something about him that touched my heart even more. The man sings with passion and he can sing just about anything. Love him. May he Rest In Peace.

I side with the theologians that say we go straight to Heaven. But frankly, it's not a big deal. What matters is the gospel. So instead of being self-righteous, share the gospel that saves.
@@TheMidnightModder there’s no misinterpreting “The living know that they will die but the dead know not anything”. That means when we die we aren’t CONSCIOUS. @Scott D "woman with the most beautiful voice ever!! 💜" Listen to Agni Parthene Sung by Nana Peradze or Maan korvessa kulkevi lapsosen tie sung by Mirja Lepola.
He gave it all in his performances! I had never heard Life is a lemon before..What an awesome song! I think it is the perfect song for our current time.
My aunt Leslie, God rest her soul, LOVED Meatloaf. Whenever I see him, or one of his CD's, I think of her. Also, nice upload. Meatloaf is such a wiseass!
To hear Meat before the nasal passages get tighter is bringing back memories.....I didn't have much time to listen to music back then but I made up for it after the turn of the century.
I was in vacation in South America with my family when the August 12 1982 Meatloaf telecast aired. Was in the Caribbean Island San Andres August 25 1982 for my birthday. Fun times. Living in Queens NY with my folks and siblings. Meatloaf was one of my sisters idols. RIP .
Meat looked Great in the Early 90's Really dropped the weight and was singing GREAT! He was so funny and always had a good story about how his name came to be.
"PHENOMENAL!!!" SO MANY PEOPLE IN OUR WORLD SHOULD BE SO HUMBLE & SO BLESSED AS THIS MAN... WITH SUCH HEART & TALENT!!! MAY GOD BLESS YOU... MEATLOAF!!! ALWAYS ~ AMEN♡
Thank you. I always felt like I was the only one who thought he was such a good looking guy! I was only 12yrs old in 1987 when I first heard him and the look on my uncle's face when I asked for his album for Christmas was priceless. I recall my friends even in the early 90's who thought I made up a singer called meatloaf until they went home and asked their parent's!! Lol 😂🤣 The other night I was watching youtube video's of him and the next morning the news announced his passing, I was heartbroken!! I will love him until the end of time. ❤
MeatLoaf was incredible He alway's gave his fans 100% R.I.P Meatloaf Another Icon taken to the Rock and Roll Heaven What a Hell of a Band there would be. KEEP ON ROCKIN!
Meatloaf what a blast from the past. A big part of my teenage years till the present day. Your music got me through some difficult times in my life. What a great grounded guy. Your music will last an eternity. RIP My friend.
I hope you and Jim are shooting with the stars and flying with the angels. I'll miss you Meat. You have been my favorite since I was 9 years old, 26 years ago. When I first heard "I'd do anything for love", it was love at first listen.
Thank you so much for posting this! I'm really enjoying it! Meatloaf was absolutely precious!! Love him forever! (The band too, wow!) We just lost a very special part of our lives. We were blessed to have Meatloaf! And Letterman's The Man!
I was born in 74 and my mother would take me and my older sister to my grans at weekends where my mums younger brother my lunatic Uncle Trev used to always have Bat out of hell blasting out full blast... i would have only been about four or five years old but i distinctly remember that album, and what an album it was. Really sad to hear of his passing. Rest in peace Meatloaf, gone but never forgotten.
Wonderful memories. Saw him live in 78 at Rutgers in small venue 1000 or so incredible, again not sure, DC where he took a gainer off the stage, left for hour came back and finished the show. One of the greatest rock performers of all time
Rip #MeatLoaf you are, have been and will be a wonderful human being... You leave an invaluable legacy in music... Now you sing in heaven with the angels

I watched that 2. I felt so sorry for him how he was treated as a child. No Wonder he had a temper when things went wrong. But... He persisted and he was eventually a Legend. The thing that got me was his then Girlfriend Leslie gave him her scarf at a gig a red 1 and he carried it for years when he did concerts IM not sure why they split but I guess they had their reasons
@@debmcpartland9528 I’ve read everything I can find on this great man. In 1st interview here he adjusted ring on his left hand then put hand on the desk facing front as if he were showing it off. Made me think he was so happy to have met and married Leslie. Just a quick gesture but a “tell”, very endearing. At least 22 years together. Once he said him being workaholic was a problem.
The cover of Bat Out of Hell scared me as a little boy, but as a man his music moved me to rock n roll. He created the rock opera and Bat Out of Hell is the third best selling album of all time. And he didn't take Gary Busey's shit. A legend, a pioneer, an innovator. You will be missed by all.
Thank you for sharing this, its a pitty about the watermark on 1999 clip. Great performances had the pleasure of seen ML live 9 times and met him 3 times sadly missed but his music and memories will live on forever Keep rocking up there Meat with Jim.
I can't say that I've followed his career or even an ardent fan....but a song like "I'll do anything for love...but I won't do that!"....cuts right into my bones. Instead of “heaven can wait”…it’s now: “heaven is great”….
No. They are asleep in the grave until the first resurrection or second. Read your Bible.
