As house prices keep climbing in Porto and Lisbon, I’m glad newcomers are finding these smaller cities that offer so much in terms of quality of life. Hats off to you for making connections with the Santa Tirso community.
Subscribed ! I discovered your channel yesterday and introduced myself briefly in your first video. I chose Coimbra - Sao José in 2021, having been around nearly everywhere as an older adult & widower. I´ve put Santo Tirso on my list
I love vicariously experiencing such beauty and wonder with your videos. And Cheryl - you’re totally crushing your linguistic lessons! I’m in awe! Incredibly well done video, guys!!

As a Portuguese American who moved to Portugal 6 years ago and with ancient roots in NE Portugal (not far from Santo Tirso) I am so happy you choose this area of Portugal to settle in and be happy. Not many foreigners venture to Minho, especially Americans, but more and more do and fall in love with it, I mean... how can one not😮😅?! Minho is the name of the NE region of Portugal just North of Porto, and the spiritual home that gave birth to Portugal almost 900 years ago. It is the most Celtic & Germanic area of the country, and the most genuine along with Trás-os -Montes in the NW region. In Minho, music is king, food too both are our happiness and joy. Step out of your comfort zone, and visit the country, especially the beautiful area you live in. You have ancient Celtic ruins nearby in Sanfins and near Esposende, the interior in the Lima valley at Gerês National Park is gorgeous, Ponte de Lima, Ponte da Barca, Viana do Castelo, Caminha, stunning places so enjoy the beauty of the land, and our culture which in that area is still quite ancient & folksie. Welcome to our society, and I hope you stay with us for a very long, long time. ❤& ✌️
Hello! I’m so happy I found your RUclips channel, while still exploring Portugal. My friend and I are in VDC, and hope to stop in your town on our way to Porto. I really like your vibe and style. Wishing you all the best as you become settled into your new home, and community🌸
My parents retired to Santo Tirso years ago (my mom is Portuguese). It is a very nice town. Ask for "pivetes" at Moura, Santo Tirso´s almond cookies, and the bread could be amazing but you should know the bakeries...
I really enjoyed your video Cheryl. I love that you are enjoying the local culture and how grateful you are for where you are. It looks like a beautiful place.
I think you´re starting to understand what Portugal is all about... Family and friends, not just in S Tirso, but all around the country is the same. We work to live, not the other way around as many americans do...
Great video! We just moved to Estreita da Calheta on Madeira. We're currently building a house with a recording studio in it. I'm planning on starting a RUclips channel focused on electronic music production combined with cool visuals of the island. Look forward to seeing your RUclips channel grow in popularity!
Absolutely stunning and beautiful in situation - to paraphrase another source. Want to see it several more times to savor it. Thank you so much for sharing this!!!
Bolas de Berlim sem crème 🤓 We call them ‘ oliebollen ‘ 😂 traditionally served around the New Year with powdered sugar 🤤 greetings from the Netherlands 🇳🇱
Congrats on finding your new home. We just moved to Silver Coast last year and love it. We Have a new RUclips channel also. Let's jam some time! All the best!

As someone who lives near Santo Tirso, I'm very happy you're family is enjoying this part of Portugal 😊
"bola de berlim quente!" 🤣 the shock on the lady's face! Enjoy Santo Tirso guys!
Our daughter likes them hot! 😂 She prefers another pastelaria in town because they will heat it for her.

The only hot Bola de Berlim I’ve eaten is on a beach in Costa de Caparica on a summer’s day😅.
