    I sat back and drank my coffee watching this video. It's going to be a good year.

    Is the number 5 ok for two adults and using the stove still enough room? Thanks Ian Uk. Lovely peaceful video. 👍

    A lot of trouble to go to, to cook stir-fry! No, seriously - that all looks awsome!

    Väldigt avslappnande att titta på. Blir sugen på att gå över till tipi och kamin själv. :)

      Kan jag varmt rekommendera. Jag blev direkt fäst vid att ha en kamin med. Det är en väldigt härlig känsla när det är snö och minusgrader ute, och man kan sitta i t-shirt inne i tipin.

    As much as I love watching these videos, I can't stop thinking about how they come to be. The moment I see you paddling around that bend nice and quiet... I immediately imagine you paddling back to retrieve your camera muttering little curses to yourself…. Having just found a nice landing spots for setting up the camera… immediately crawling back into your boat paddling back out just to come in and get the landing scene. Doesn't the workflow kill the magic of simply being there and experiencing nature?

      Well yeah, in a way it does, and that’s one reason why I don’t film a lot. I have an unpublished video for a previous trip, and have considered filming more times, but it does take up focus from just enjoying the moment, so most of the times I don’t do it. I like filming, and I’ll do it more, but not on every trip.

    Great video. How much does your canoe weigh

    • @smalandoutdoor3721
      @smalandoutdoor3721  3 года назад

      Too much 😄
      I think it's somewhere between 32-35kg. It's a plastic hull. My dream canoe would be either a Cedar strip canoe or a Nova Craft blue Steel canoe. Not that I portage a lot, but it would be nice to have something that's a bit more easy to carry on your own.

    Must not be bear country. Cooking in your tent is a bear attractant. Nice video. Thanks!

      @smalandoutdoor3721  3 года назад +1

      No, there's no bears this far south. The only thing we have to worry about here are Wild boars.

    • @smalandoutdoor3721
      @smalandoutdoor3721  5 лет назад +2

      Yes it is. It’s heavy, but I do love the breathable canvas fabric, compared to a silnylon tipi.

      @@smalandoutdoor3721 Wow that looks great, I have been using a canvas bivi bag for quite a few trips aswell and I like you prefer the canvas material. I am considering getting a Safir 7 or 9 for living 3 season here / 1 season further south per year ;) I hope I will get an oppurtunity to see them to get an idea of their size.
      I want to have room for a primitive bed + bushcrafted chair + a chest (relatively big) for stuff + a stove.
      The weight difference is 10 and 15 kilos, but also 10 and 15 sqm so there is something to consider. The price difference is no big deal, you want to get the right size in my opinion :)

      @@smalandoutdoor3721 Excellent choice. You see so many with a canoe in sometimes very rainy Sweden/Finland, and they often get wet feet/socks and then use a Hilleberg. In my opinion a Tipi and a foldable or none foldable wood stove is what one should bring to dry out every day....enjoy.

    • @smalandoutdoor3721
      @smalandoutdoor3721  5 лет назад

      En Safir. Jag kände det var värt att få bättre material för (förhoppningsvis) längre livslängd, då det är ett ganska dyrt tält.

    • @smalandoutdoor3721
      @smalandoutdoor3721  5 лет назад

      Yes It’s the 5. 3,8m in diameter. Really roomy when I’m solo, but I mostly camp with my daughter, and she loves this tent.

    • @woodnugget7513
      @woodnugget7513 5 лет назад

      Would you say the size 5 would be ok for too adults and using the stove thanks Ian Uk. Lovely video by the way👌

    • @smalandoutdoor3721
      @smalandoutdoor3721  5 лет назад +8

      Absolutely. I’ve used it with my daughter and wife with the stove. All three of us slept behind the stove, I stored the gear and firewood on one side of the stove and had the food and cooked on the other side of it. I think the size is perfect for two adults and a stove. Since you don’t need an inner tent with a canvas tipi there’s no unused space between the inner- and outer tent.
