Great work! Everyone focuses on the fast ending licks but I reckon the phrase from 5:27-5:32 is the hardest part of this song to play.
Thanks Man, It is a difficult at first, But once its under your fingers its down to getting the timing right, I have seen slash play it so many different ways, The difficult part is trying to hear what he's doing on the original track. Thanks again for the comments
@@nango32 100%. Even with the isolated guitar tracks it can be difficult to work out exactly what he's playing sometimes (that phrase I noted is a classic example).

Nice and clean.....I've been working on that song for a yr. now and can't seem to get the intro, or the part between 3:26 and 3:46.... So, kudos for that.

@@nango32 yea man, I get it. I got obsessed with learning night train for a while. Could play or pretty close but struggle a bit with that choppy staccato ascending run in the outro. Even slash always plays these solos differently live but it is fun to try and learn them note for note, or close. I loved all this stuff in high school but could never play the leads. Thanks time and RUclips I have learned a lot in the last few years.

Thanks for the comment and checking out the upload. Axe Fx 2 into logic, I used the AFD Head Preset with some OD in front, with some verb and delay. very basic preset, The rest was learning as much of the licks and solos as best i could. Its a fun song to play 🤟
Great playing. But I think you should play with backing track without slash’s guitar in the background. That way we would hear better what are you playing. I mean your nuances and feeling (vibrato, accuracy in bending technique, etc.)

Hi Robbie, we both could be right or wrong here, I have been lucky to see slash with guns and on his solo tours quite a few times. I have seen him play tunes in different positions, Why ? Im not sure, Could be tone, position or comfort as he wears his guitar quite low, So many times you will see him lift the guitar during solos for comfort and hand position, Thats my 10 cents. Hope you enjoyed the video 🤟

Thanks for the comments.. there is a preset with the Axe Fx 2 called dual clean.. I just made you tweets to that preset, and I thought it was close.. Make sure you add a room size reverb and chours..

Hey.. no trouble at all. I have a present built on the Axe Fx.. outside the Amp.. I use a TS808 very little OD.. some delay and reverb.. I also have an EQ on that tone.. if you search YT you can find Boss EQ suggestion for Slash tone.. From there, its tinkering until you are happy..

Perfect cover but seeing the solo played as it was on the album it made me surprised how simple Slashs technique is compared to someone like Paul Gilbert or Yngwie for example. Anyway this is a great cover 👌

@@nango32 Yeah simple and effective Slash has always been , he's more known for the long sustained notes than all out Shredding , was glad when he came back to GNR in 2016 was amazing just a shame Axl Rose 🌹 has lost his voice 😔
@@christineayres7199 I've seen them twice since the re-union, slash, duff and the band are so good, Axl struggles at times but it has to be so hard to sustain those vocals from 20 years ago.. He set the bar so high with those early performances.. One of the best

tone tutorial?
I used the AFD head in Axe FX with a marshal cab,
Tube screamer for drive and some verb and delay.. Its was very straight forward. Just push the master and used minimal gain..
Nice cover, but it is very delayed in guitar response compared to the music.
You really have the tone down. It sounds awesome. But it's it's not a full cover when you're playing with the studio recording.
