One of the best bass lures to use in the summer is the simple texas rig. There are so many baits out there these days that I feel like a lot of people neglect the simple texas rig at times.
It will catch a lot of bass and it will catch big bass!
BassFishingHQ is dedicated to teaching people how to catch more and bigger bass. I will go over different bass fishing tips & techniques that will put more fish in the boat or on the shore. Whether you are just starting out or a seasoned tournament angler, my goal is to help you catch more bass.

No worries apologies accepted lmao. Hey bro what’s your Ohio PB? I’m in jersey. Where our fishing is similar. I’ve caught 7 over 5lbs and 2 one Oz shy of 6lbs within a year. and this years PB 7.4 back in may!!! This is from end of 2020 to today. Last week I got a 5.1 and and a 4.13. I’ve been successful catching that class fish being 4-7lbs what can I do to catch a bigger one. Mostly using a 1/2oz jig , swim jig and a spinner bait. All very common lures. What to do for a true giant 8+ lbs

I watched this episode yesterday, I picked up a pack of this lure today. I fished it from the bank at a spot where when I get a bass or two, they’re usually small. Today in an hour I caught 3 monsters. Mind you; I’m new to bass fishing and at 67; I just started using baitcasters this spring.

Good job I’m watching today at 72. Just getting ready to apply the winter type baits and locations on elephant butte lake in New Mexico. Was in Ear 4 hours ago with sciatic problems but still gonna plan getting on the water in about a week. Stay with it it’s fun I didn’t fish for bass till I was 59. But it’s all I do now that I finally retired.

The pit boss is my #1 lure in the summer. It's not even close. I remember when they came out as the havoc series and I bought so many of them. My favorite color is perfection. It has worked for me in super clear and even muddy water. I have I think every color but it really is that good. It comes through cover easy. It's smaller profile to me feels almost like a finesse presentation.

    • @erniebrightfishing

I have a few bags of unopened havoc series baits. And I have a few opened too. I knew they were an older series but I bought them this summer at a discount store. Score.. lol. I got some pit boss and some fatty craws great find.

I started fishing Texas rigged worms back in 1975 as a high school kid. I still do. I will use 4" all the way to 10" worms, depending on the type of water (big vs small, creek, pond, lake etc.). Crawdad plastics can work, yes. On smaller ponds and creeks a 4" worm with no weight using a spinning rod can be devastating. I always had outstanding results on Culprit worms. I use 3 colors (green, red, and black). Next, spinner baits. When the dog days of summer are here, I large spinner fished deep, just fast enough to barely get the blade spinning has had some very good results too.

  • @ChrisG9978
    @ChrisG9978 2 года назад +2

The Texas rig has been my go-to for years, especially because I enjoy fishing through weed beds and in shallower water. Nothing avoids a snag better than a Texas rig. This year however I started fishing blade baits more frequently, and although you can't fish them everywhere, I've landed some huge bass with silver and gold blades this Summer.

I’ve fished the pit boss since it came out. It’s the most versatile soft plastic imo. I’ve used it as a jig trailer, chatterbait trailer, on Texas rigs , Tokyo rigs it just seems to get bit. It’s got a nice noticeable but not overly aggressive flap on the fall.

What kind of water? Here’s 2 tips- Try fishing them just on a plain exposed jighead, 1/8 - 1/4 ounce. 3” green or brown. Or if it’s an area with a lot of wood, take the tube and put some tiny splitshot in the tube. Then take a piece of senko and shove it up into the tube all the way to the head. Maybe a drop of superglue on the front of the senko. Then cut it off even with the end of the tube body. Now you have a solid tube with a weighted head. Rig it backwards with an EWG and pitch it near some wood or a dock, and it will swim away from you into the cover.

Hey Tyler Lowrance has a sell going on with their 9" elite fs, and I was wondering if I got a couple, one for the console and one for the troling motor. Would I be able to fish offshore effectively with them

I live in Ohio. Where do you fish at? Rarely see the size of bass you catch where I’m at

Instead of a lake in the summer, what would you use on the Ohio river & the tributaries?

Do you ever Snell your hook for better hook ups?

With weights over 3/4 oz I always snell. Weights under that I really don’t have a problem hooking up

Tyler. Just curious why you don't use America made rod and reels. Personally I'd rather spend the extra money on something made in America 🇺🇸

The pitboss is a great bait. But in my neck of the woods the yo mama and battle bug is king in the grass.
