I installed a new pump yesterday on my 1999. Thank you for showing me the details. This video was very helpful and very appreciated!! Truthfully the truck needs a bullet in the block...but she lives to drive one more day.......Merry Christmas.
Really appreciate you taking your time to make this video. It's generally very helpful to see the process before jumping into a project. If you have any other projects come up in the future concerning your Durango, I'd like to see those too. Trying to keep up with mine too. Thanks.
Son the red with the plus sign is the positive. You took off the negative. If that pump touched that positive you'd have had one hell of a light show. Aside from that. Thank you for the video. I know what sizes I need to get it off and on
Thanks for the info, I'm sure it will save me some bucks. If you could get a friend to hold the camera from time to time it may be easier for you when you need two hands. Just a thought.
What made you buy a new pump? I have a leak and am starting with the hoses. the pump seems to work just fine. So, how did you determine you needed a new pump?
No , mine went it just fine . I was carful to get it started by hand and then carefully use my wrench 🔧 And feel for it going in straight as to not mess up the threads on a crooked angle . I hope you are able get yours figured out leak free
power steering fluid was 5 bucks each power steering line was between 25 and 40 dollars the new pump was about 50 bucks the pully removal tool was a 50 dollar deposit and money back when tool is returned a few bucks on gloves 5 I had the other tools needed in my garage
Gvibez 98 I would check to see if you can take them off your old pump , maybe check your new one and see if they gave you some bolts in a bag . If not you can probably just install some bolts with thread tape in there . I’m not 100% sure tho since mine just came with bolts in it already.
I just did mine today 97 ram 5.9v8 did everything right but the pump not active and i have no steering after replacing everything. What step did i not do?
I recommend trying a wrench if you are having trouble , then push the pipe a little and pull the bolt at the same time to wiggle free. My tube was perfectly out of the way. you can also take out that bolt last and try moving the pump around different angles to free your bolt.

your welcome =)
I will upload any future work
One of the better how to mechanical videos I’ve ever watched. Explained wonderfully! 👌🏽
Good Work, thanks for the walk through.
Thank you, appreciate the video. Explanation on point. ❤
But yes only thing is take pulley off before removing bracket. Then put pulley on after bracket is reinstalled. Or a vice might do the trick.
best vid i have seen very very good job. thank you so much..

Thanks amigo that was a big help for me God Bless you.
Those yellow plastic is for plugging the hose holes. So you don't have to drain whole pump. Just future referance
Ahhh I see , thanks!

Thank You very helpful 👍Great Job
Thank you!
You explained it real good.
Why is the stud adapter in the positive side post of your battery labelled NEG; and you refer to the negative terminal of your battery as positive?
Thank you!

My pump wasn’t loosing any fluid but started whining, it was time to change the pump .
Make sure you unhook the positive and not the negative and more steps than needed but it is a good video for the first time
Thank you 😊
I’m getting better with my videos every time I upload 😀
My future stuff will be more prepared
Very helpful. Thanks
You’re welcome 😊
Great video
Appreciated this!!!!!!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you for the sub!
Where did you buy the parts from? I want to make sure that my parts come with the needed o-rings as well.
AutoZone .
Should be in the plastic bag inside the box
Did you have any problems seating the line the screws into the back of the pump? Mine won't seat fully for some reason
No , mine went it just fine .
I was carful to get it started by hand and then carefully use my wrench 🔧

I bought a pump that came with the pulley. There’s three o-rings with the pump I bought. Where do they go?
It’s been a while since I did that repair so I can’t honestly tell you exactly where, maybe someone in the thread will chip in
10:00 That's what you get for having a side post battery. JK great vid man and thanks
Haha 😂
You’re welcome and Thanks for watching
How much did it cost for everything including the fluid and tools that you needed.
power steering fluid was 5 bucks
each power steering line was between 25 and 40 dollars
the new pump was about 50 bucks
the pully removal tool was a 50 dollar deposit and money back when tool is returned
a few bucks on gloves 5
I had the other tools needed in my garage
21:50 my pump don’t have those screws now and it’s leaking from those ports what would I need to do

Just did mine today and the same thing happened to me. Did u figure it out?
Maybe air in the system, bleed air out of the system
@@jesuscrunch2617 how do you bleed the system?
What kind of pulling puller is it.
How you get the stud not hit the coolant pipe mine wont come out

My tube was perfectly out of the way.

I don't know why people don't show an explain putting the ground wires on with the power steering pump, because it is important.
You took the negative off but said positive.
I have all the stuff installed and I still can't turn the wheel. It's stiff. I wasn't sure what the issue might be
Your a lube tech that’s why
@@taylorrouillard5878 i dont work at a lube lmfao. Maybe fact check before running your mouth. Already got the problem fixed anyway.
17:46 you can't put the belt on on the pulley unless the pulley is full seated.
where did you get the pulley puller
I just rented it from AutoZone, o’Reillys also has them for rent.
what tool sizes for this job thanks
Pro tip, buy an impact gun.
Baby arms
Use a 9/16 not a 14mm on the bolts. Also looks like you have the wrong battery installed.
Jesus ever heard of impacts n power tools?
P
You talk way too much. Just do the job
This sucks
