    I have a 2018 RadRover. I ride exclusively street. A little over 4000mi. on this beast. I did many mods on this thing, but kept the drivetrain bone-stock(batt., motor, etc..) The mods are strictly cosmetic and it looks more an old-school motorcycle now. I have had no problems with it at all. Love it!!!

    One thing that a lot of these reviews don't take into account (likely because it's a bit niche) is that the Aventon Aventure (what I have) is actually a little different than the Rad Rover and at least a few others that I've seen in that it has a true cassette in the rear. I have upgraded mine to an 11 speed 11-51t cassette and SRAM derailuer, which has improved shifting and enabled climbing even steeper hills. It doesn't have a whole lot in the way of "proprietary" components, aside from the battery casing and the controller, which is great from a maintenance standpoint.

I wish they made one that topped out at 45/mph range just so I could keep up with traffic if need be but I’m not buying it for speed. I highly recommend it over at least 3 bikes on this list. I have gone through a rad and an original Lectric - the rad just fell apart - every day something new would just not work anymore - horrible experience... and the Lectric I just beat the hell out of and put it through things it didn't deserve so I think their bikes are solid but the Juiced is many steps above both.

      If you're climbing hills a fat tire is the last thing you need. I have lots of hills and I'm swapping my 2.8s knobbies for 2.0s all weathers to get some more speed and range. I did not see any pedals being used other than to set shoes upon. None of the reviewing/evaluating goes into how well the supplemental pedal assist actually works. It appears that the majority of "fat tire" e-bikes prefer to provide no physical effort, and just cruise regardless of the terrain. Obviously, there is a market for this "very limited" form of exercise, and it is better than just sitting. A good lighter e-mountain bike would provide the best of both worlds.
    Fat tire e-bikes are popular with seniors in home parks in states like Arizona. Due to the speeds of class 2 and 3 e-bikes, nearly 50% of senior purchasers make at least one trip to the emergency services at hospitals in metro Phoenix during first 3- 5 weeks of ownership.

    Why do you never test Sondors bikes?? Specifically the LX. When I purchased I paid $2000. Probably would win this

      We hope to review some Sondors bikes soon. FWIW, when people reach out to companies saying that want to see an Electric Bike Report review it really does help us get bikes in. It's always worth saying something on their social media pages, or a direct email. We'd happily take a look at the LX if we can get one in!

    Two Rad bikes? Lazy or paid off? Rad bikes are pedestrian as far as quality and that's after 2 or 3 years of low quality junk. You said "best" fat tire bikes and the Surface 604 Himiway Cruiser and the QuietKats are acceptable but where is the Juiced Bikes, where is the Ariel Rider? There are a LOT of high quality fat tire e-bikes and Rad does not belong on any best list.

    • @ElectricBikeReport
      @ElectricBikeReport  2 года назад +1

      We haven't had Juiced or Ariel Rider bikes in for testing and review yet. We stuck to bikes we've reviewed for this video. Rad bikes are good value too, but different opinions isn't a bad thing.

      @@ElectricBikeReport the Rambo Rooster is the better version of the Radrunner. More features considered extras on the Rad and better tubing and welding. You need to stop drinking Rad wine. There are bikes out Radding the Rad.

    I expect at least Himiway Zebra/Cobra or Cobra Pro. I don't know what is wrong with these 3 models.

      The written list includes alternates. We have the Cobra there. The Zebra needs a larger chain ring as it's a pretty big drawback. And we hope to test the Cobra Pro soon, but we haven't tested it ourselves yet.

    NORCO and MOOSE are two canadian FAT BIKES that are in many ways MUCH BETTER than anything you’ve got there, please guys you must check those. Almost to a superior level…. Norco is reknown with it’s numerous prizes among « mountain bikes designs of the year ».
