cliff ive been on sot break for a couple months because i couldn’t find anything new for me to do in sot i just saw that i’ve been kicked from the guild but i have now come back from my break as season 12’s arrival. i will most assuredly keep playing now that the new season will bring things for me to do, and i would like to give my most humble apologies for not contributing enough to the Jolly Rogers. I know there is no way to justify not keeping the guild réputation going up, but if there is some way to redeem myself i would like to try.
Another bonus to the Devil's roar treasure is that they are worth 150-200% their original value. That's why when me and my friend just want a really nice and easy 450k an hour, we do vaults in Devil's roar.
also if ya get good at reading the roar and spending tons of time there you can make money really fast plus with the quests update you can grab emessary quests there to do them all with ashen loot compounding even more

Learning another person plays sea of thieves just to fish like I do is.. amazing haha! I am terrified of deep water and such things but love to fish so I would log on solo and just fish which had mixed results with all kinds of people coming to ruin my day. This fisherman dood.. he has my respect

Um i just got a quick question, how is it possible that everytime i go do fotd the flames are already there and i just have to place the ritual skull and the event is activated. Is it a glitch or am i missing something?
Thank you for pointing out how bad it is for newbies right now being constantly attacked… We’ve been being bullied nonstop since we recently started! And adding ship cosmetics only help a little as they somehow know we are new still based on other little things we do..
Good thing we now have Saver Seas, that way you can enjoy the game without the community ruining your day. Personally in the 100 hours I have on sea of thieves the best moments where those when the server was almost empty and nobody bothered us for hours. But for every 1 hour of good times you have 9 hours of a crew full of pro PvPers chasing your across the world just to sink you for your level 2 emissary flag and the 3 pieces of loot you have.

Sure just like similar games where PvP and PvE are intertwined you had people focus on fight on sight (like DayZ) but those were rarer now its the default and people engaging in some friendly chats or banter have become the rare occurrence. And how do you think people are supposed to learn how to fight if everyone that is willing to fight them will stomp them in a few shots or the Hourglass is infested by hackers.

I'm very close to Pirate Legend, I have recently gotten Gold Hoarders to level 50 and am very close to getting Order of Souls and Merchants to level 50, and if I can convince my friends to raise the Reaper Emmisary next time we play together, I can also get that to level 50. Hunter's Call is gonna have to wait sadly, that's gonna take forever to get to even level 25. (I've been grinding that as of recent, so it's pretty high up.) Anyway, thank you for the amazing videos and I hope to see you on the Sea of Thieves.

Hello im new to the game and i chose the wrong character but i grinded for 2 days is it possible to have 2 or more characters with both different progress without deleting one of them???
is it just me or sea of thieves feels so laggy, like i clip onto every object and terrain constantly, i get like 40 ping average and on other games i get 10 ping
I think it’s a combination of both game physics and server lag. I’ve noticed my average ping in SoT is about 130 but it’s usually around 40 in rocket league
That is the Gold Merchant Emissary License. (You can get it for the three factions). First you need to buy the license from the respective merchant, then you can fly the emissary flag. This flag selection will be next to the faction tables.
One thing you should take out of this is that even as a new player, you can make friends. Not everyone is an enemy and even if you just meet someone, give em a chance. There are good souls out there. Trust me, some guy played with me when I just started out to help me get enough money to buy my first ship.

For anyone starting their sea of thieves journey as I did around 2 weeks ago, the greatest advice I can give is solo sloop hourglass once you learn the basics and get your own ship. I know many may disagree, but a new players worst nightmare is seeing another ship on the horizon. If you run into another player and don’t really know what you’re doing when it really matters, it will only end badly. When you feel like you got the controls down, are ready, and you first start solo slooping hourglass, you will suck. You won’t land cannon shots, you won’t have good bucket timing and your angles will be off. But you have to play. You have to keep going. Go for boards on enemy ships, watch streamers and RUclipsrs…learn. Most importantly, don’t get discouraged, it is difficult and there will always be a player better than you, but each match is a lesson. Since I started going heavy on pvp I feel so much more confident seeing another ship. Am I great, no, but am I getting better, every day.
Been playing sot since release and really enjoyed this basic rundown. A little tip for others would be to always make sure you turn your lanterns off on the ship before setting sail. You become less visible from a distance and is just a small thing to appear less new.

Unfortunately I am a bit late to the video can I can definitely say that I enjoyed hearing about your tales in collecting 1,000,000 gold pieces. I think these last few videos have revealed a new side of Cliff, he may have in the past cared only about the gold, but now he is learning to appreciate the adventure a lot more and take in the glory. I started the game, got through the tutorial, got my ship, picked up a quest map, and set sail. 3 minutes after leaving dock I was sunk by a kraken. Im doomed

I need to get people in my guild, i have my brig as a guild ship so people can sail with a owned guild ship. I should start adding people as friends in game. Shit had a game where i was sailing with a full crew doing the skull, ran into another full crew. Was tense at first but we teamed up and did glitter beard. Shouldve added them.
So basically if you LOVE PVE, back the Order of Souls! Which come to think of it are probably the CREEPIEST faction in the game given their Backstore/Lore. Still, good Video Cliff. Very Helpful for New players and Solo Slooper alike. (god i wish rare would add more ship types to the existing crew sizes). Also tip 1# PRESS GANG.... I mean PEUSAUDE your friends to join your adventures of thievery! Provided that's even an option..... My sympathy to all the Pirates with no mates or lasses to sail with. I had a reaper keep fighting over the FOTD we sank them twice and they sunk us twice and as we were preparing to fight again they flew up their alliance flag and dropped off 3 ritual skulls and defended us while we cleared 6 FOTD, was one of my most fun on SOT and by far the most I've ever sold in a gaming session.
"the ammount of chasers was unprecidented" nope, its Rust spillover: EVERYONE targets the weakest because every game is a dual lingo in whos lying about what they have or can do, leaving the only option to be as much of a facist bully as humanly possible until the server itself either has Rare themselve force-boot you to another or COMPLETLY closes the server off to you being truely all alone. In a game where even your own crew mates are encouraged to mutiny out of boredom
Damn, that looks like new player experience I’m in the game for couple of days and holy shit it’s hard. I don’t really understand what’s the point for like customized 4p galleon to attacks me and my pal who are noobs on a slope without any loot (and even if there is - probably it’ll be some quest chests for couple of thousands in total) And one dude even stayed on my ship for 20 goddamn minutes waiting for ambush Wtf is wrong with these people lol
My last interaction with a new player happened in my friend's second time playing the game, two VERY new players started chasing us in a galley. Later we dropped off all our loot at an outpost so I could fight whilst he sold (I have I think around 500 hours now) and they made the mistake of anchoring and thinking we'd run anyway. Basically we just spiralled them and didn't see much of them until they sank cos they didn't even try to raise they only bailed and repaired.
I remember being in a server alliance and a new crew joined the alliance so i took the time to help them with a fof just wanted i thought we were safe my alliance who made a group chat on Xbox warned me about a level 5 reaper brig coming our way so instead of fighting i moved both our ships away and left the loot and hid 4 kegs and I blew the first one up which caused about 12 kegs and a athena keg on the reaper to blow up. They kept coming back again and again and again until my alliance sunk them together like a fleet. After which one of the reaper crewmembers had the audacity to call us a nazi so i played WWII German music and had my allies execute them firing squad style. We made around 789k
Just before watching this I saw a bunch of videos on worms and tape worms and parasites in the body and now I’m never having spaghetti or ramen or noodles ever again. 🤕
Am I just the only person with bugged Megaladons? 10+ meg encounters, and all of them just circle around my ship and never attack, which makes it take way longer to kill them as a solo
Sadly this video has a lot of examples of one of the worst sides of sea of thieves. Often times people will go after you for no reason even if you don't have any loot, when this happens you're put in a lose lose situation. Either they sink you and get your loot or you sink them but don't get any loot out of it because they just wanted pvp. And then of course theres the bugs and glitches where it feels like the entire game is against you. However, I would much rather put up with other players than have to put up with tall tales. If I EVER have to do another tall tale after doing all the shores of gold one with my friend, I will literally die on the spot

Not only is The Devil's Roar relatively safe from other players, but you'll also get a bunch of practice repairing your ship and putting out fires.

They only attack when ur ship is stationary
you can outrun them quite easily and they despawn when you get close to an island

Only REALLY REALLY slightly and a single wind Change would undo all of that running

how do you manage to come across so many players in eu servers who actually fight 💀 on the rare occasion i see someone they just run like what😭
I had a reaper keep fighting over the FOTD we sank them twice and they sunk us twice and as we were preparing to fight again they flew up their alliance flag and dropped off 3 ritual skulls and defended us while we cleared 6 FOTD, was one of my most fun on SOT and by far the most I've ever sold in a gaming session.

nope, its Rust spillover: EVERYONE targets the weakest because every game is a dual lingo in whos lying about what they have or can do, leaving the only option to be as much of a facist bully as humanly possible until the server itself either has Rare themselve force-boot you to another or COMPLETLY closes the server off to you being truely all alone.
In a game where even your own crew mates are encouraged to mutiny out of boredom

I’m in the game for couple of days and holy shit it’s hard. I don’t really understand what’s the point for like customized 4p galleon to attacks me and my pal who are noobs on a slope without any loot (and even if there is - probably it’ll be some quest chests for couple of thousands in total)
And one dude even stayed on my ship for 20 goddamn minutes waiting for ambush

My last interaction with a new player happened in my friend's second time playing the game, two VERY new players started chasing us in a galley. Later we dropped off all our loot at an outpost so I could fight whilst he sold (I have I think around 500 hours now) and they made the mistake of anchoring and thinking we'd run anyway. Basically we just spiralled them and didn't see much of them until they sank cos they didn't even try to raise they only bailed and repaired.
I remember being in a server alliance and a new crew joined the alliance so i took the time to help them with a fof just wanted i thought we were safe my alliance who made a group chat on Xbox warned me about a level 5 reaper brig coming our way so instead of fighting i moved both our ships away and left the loot and hid 4 kegs and I blew the first one up which caused about 12 kegs and a athena keg on the reaper to blow up. They kept coming back again and again and again until my alliance sunk them together like a fleet. After which one of the reaper crewmembers had the audacity to call us a nazi so i played WWII German music and had my allies execute them firing squad style. We made around 789k

Am I just the only person with bugged Megaladons? 10+ meg encounters, and all of them just circle around my ship and never attack, which makes it take way longer to kill them as a solo

Sadly this video has a lot of examples of one of the worst sides of sea of thieves. Often times people will go after you for no reason even if you don't have any loot, when this happens you're put in a lose lose situation. Either they sink you and get your loot or you sink them but don't get any loot out of it because they just wanted pvp. And then of course theres the bugs and glitches where it feels like the entire game is against you.
However, I would much rather put up with other players than have to put up with tall tales. If I EVER have to do another tall tale after doing all the shores of gold one with my friend, I will literally die on the spot
