If the game had been exclusive to only one device, it would have been a commercial failure, and many of us would have been deprived of enjoying this masterpiece.
It had a solid 9 months of exclusivity before it hit the PS2. Didn't hit PC until 2 years after release and didn't go to Xbox until 2011. 6 years after it released
Meanwhile re4 is probably the only game that eventually was published to almost any platform in existence, from consoles to mobiles, to every console generation and keeps being published to new platforms to this day 😅
Re4 is for everyone to enjoy dont let it be exclusive to small amount of people y bet they wouldv regreted not porting this to almost 8 consoles y think

To be fair Capcom didn't really have a choice here. The GameCube sold rather poorly so if they wanted to make their money back porting the game to PlayStation was their only real option. If they had done this years ago with the GameCube remake of RE1 that game would have sold better too and we could have gotten a remake to RE2 years earlier than we did.
Well.... They were gonna make A LOT more money off of the highest selling console of all time. And for doing that. The fan base blew up significantly more for future games in the series.
it was Capcom that make a deal with Sony because ps2 is selling more than gamecube not shinji himself it wasn't really his fault. poor guy though he just wants to see nintendo's boys happy but that doesn't mean i wasn't glad that it got port to potato station 2 as i own that one and I'm sure xbox owner are happy too. also re1 on gamecube looks really good it's like early ps3 game just show how much more powerful gamecube is to ps2.
If you ever wonder why the original RE4 wasn't on the Xbox it's because the translator at Microsoft messed up so bad that mikami immediately left and got a ride to Nintendo immediately to give them the exclusive 5 game deal
