We spent about 45 minutes trying to find a suitable place to land the Super Cub. They are amazing little planes and an accentual part of air travel in the wilds of Alaska.
"I come to the garden alone" ... And he walks with me and he talks with me, and he tells me I am his own. And the joy we share as we tarry there, none other has ever known. Good to hear the words of this old hymn bring sung as he goes about his business. Awesome skill. Encouraging testimony!
I understand the "bush" part but never understood why they call this bush piloting.. This is expert level flying and still even at expert level your one big rock away from being stuck out in the middle of nowhere thats if you survive the crash.
I think this is the guy I flew in with sheep hunting in 1987. Air taxi service out of Glenallen? Can't remember the families name they had several pilots. Good pilot, we went through a bush landing on this gravel bank. I will check my pictures for the N number.
$4,000 and 20 hours flying time to get a flying licence, according to a local. My son had to do 120 hours driving time to drive a bloody Toyota in Australia. lol. Ya gotta love Alaska.
LOL and in Germany you need about 30 hrs driving time until the driver‘s exam. But a plane is very nice. I like the Piper Cub planes. Kinda adorable with these big wheels.
GOT ROCKS ? ... YEP ! Love this,... This IS what I wanted to do with my life when I learned to fly ( '78 )........I was STUCK in L.A. forever... I still fly & dream of being a BUSH PILOT.
Hi Robert, I flew for a living until the attacks on 9-11, but never quite made it to bush flying in Alaska. It was always something I wanted to do as well. What can you say.
yeh... having a darn good job with the City of L.A. & Sgt. Friday in the formative years I found it hard to break away, Flew for fun 'til 2018 when I went to Oshkosh and realized Part 103 was my calling.. I build Legal Eagle frames for fun now...... everybody has a life path.... mine is now custom welded steel tubes ............ so be it.
Robert Lafnear understood, but the itch doesn’t go away. Videos like this one only make it worse as I’m getting a bit long in the tooth. Almost got into crop dusting down in South Georgia, but this redhead seduced me away from it. Redhead’s long gone, but I hauled a lot of freight in a variety of airplanes while I had the chance. Enjoy 103.

Es una pasada, volar en super Cub tiene que ser la ostia, en España desgraciadamente no hay cultura aeronáutica, una pena, y volar en aeroclub super carísimo..
A taildragger can also do a nose over due to hit a deep bump or full braking. One of the main reasons why the Germans lost many Messerschmitt BF 109‘s through landing on rough terrain with a narrow front wheels. Often break and do nose overs. There‘s the advantage of the tricycle gear. A lot less prone to nose over unless the nose wheel breaks, so they are not good for landing on rough terrain.

And again at 4:09 time stamp.
Красивые места! Надо у нас в России, в Дагестане организовать полеты над Сулакским каньоном.

Живут же люди!
I will never not be amazed with these pilots ability to land in terrain like that. This guy makes it look so easy.
Total Faith in your pilot.
Красавчик.
What mods, if any, do you have on yours? Horsepower? You have a STOL kit on it? Awesome flying. Looking to get a SC myself.

It's actually closer to (unless you own your own plane) $10,000 and a minimum of 40 hours with the national average being over 50.
Dale, thanks for the update. Still value for money compared to Australia.
@@rossjackson7134 except fueling up a plane is a lot more expensive than a car haha.

Rough spot. Good job.
Cool video. Anyone know the name of the song and who does it. It's heard at the very end of the video.
DeanMk1 Indigo Girls
Yes, good pilot skills and they wreck about 15 of these a year up there.
And it's no wonder they wreck so many. Yes it takes skill, but sooner or later they turn these airplanes into junk landing in places like that.
What’s the name of the song in the very beginning sounds like big and rich?
and after all that he pulled into his driveway
Living the dream
I like it at 999 making it 1k
Ondre Vassell thank you
In 45 minutes how much fuel is burnt how much is left??
bravo how mony is the engine hp?
Sorry, I don't know. I was the passenger.
Bravo au pilote pour cet exploit unique
Nice to have radio in cockpit!
Is this stock?
Every small plane I've travelled in has been equipped with radio's.

It's great, just like a car with wings!
I saw your footprints in August.
You're not going back to that area, are you? I literally camped right next to the super cub tracks.

Классный аппарат и его пилот👍👍
You out of lake Clark? I used to work there.
Yes Mate, we flew out of Lake Clark. I was just the passenger.
Scott Robinson Outdoors Thought I recognized the runway. 😬

Es una pasada, volar en super Cub tiene que ser la ostia, en España desgraciadamente no hay cultura aeronáutica, una pena, y volar en aeroclub super carísimo..

Just like the parking garage. Gotta meander a bit to find a good spot
I feel like I’m watching the 80s
Still how it’s done in Alaska in 2019
Scott Robinson Outdoors I meant the footage and image quality. The flying was great.
Very nice......😀😀😀😀👍👍👍👍
Mr. Davis is one hell of a stick.
I learned how to fly with a super cub. I plan on buying a carbon cub.
Good flying but some pretty pathetic photography. Very annoying.
Gee, sorry
The all-terrain vehicle of the skies. A hop, skip and a jump of about 15 feet and you're airborne.
How much hp does it have?
WTF is accentual?
Anybody know the name of this area or near this area?
جو راااااااايق 😘👍
Oh my! The song is..."In the Garden." Was my Granny's favorite song.

Good!
حلوة اوي الطيارة دي كاوتشها بنزلها في اي حتة😍
Bravo buen piloto ,buena experiencia felicidades!
Is that why you need a taildragger?
To handle the bumps on the ground without falling over?
A taildragger can also do a nose over due to hit a deep bump or full braking.

This area reminds me of the Chitistone River. What part of Alaska is it?
Two lakes, Alaska range.
CARALHO::- SERÁ QUE O MALUCO NÃO TINHA MAIS GASOLINA???

He missed the ground with his wing by about a foot, and he actually hit that small tree with his wing. Dumb flying
