.50 CAL Air Shotgun with CROSSBOW BOLTS - Powerful!

  • We shoot some crossbow bolts out of a pneumatic shotgun in this video. This air shotgun really slung these bolts with impressive power. We show how to use inexpensive crossbow bolts instead of the expensive ones, and show some of the hiccups we had so you don't make the same mistakes.

Awesome! I can't believe how well they fly, really. I had thought about trying this for a long time and even bought bolts to do it, but figured it wouldn't work well. I'm really impressed, and good thinking with the cardboard seals!

I had better luck using 7/16" disks with a couple 1/2" disks glued to the end to form sort of a spool. The company contacted me with the premise we would shoot BOLTS out of it, but never sent us any of those sweet air bolts! I guess they didn't think my channel was worth the extra costs.

TAOFLEDERMAUS your channel is awesome, I hope you're making more than 25 a video. I honestly thought you guys were making decent money doing this, youtube needs to nut up and pay the people who make good content

    • @FuzzyDiceProjects

Huh, really strange that they sent the expensive gun and not the ammo they wanted you to use in it. I hadn't heard of that "shotgun" air rifle before, seems just like the one I have with the addition of a choke. And, if the spec sheet is to be believed, increased power. Are you planning on trying the "shotshells" they sell to fire birdshot?
Really good thinking making the spool shape with the discs, after all these years of shooting weird things out of guns you truly are the master of it!

What you guys need to remember is that in many countries, home defense is a spanked Arse!, and firearms are not over the counter items. The ability to accidently blind them is a BONUS, (In a legal..ish way). My work premises have to be locked in such a way that if a PERSON should want what we have, they cannot break in and be harmed (that includes making sure that all fire exits are clear)....... I believe most of these ridiculous law suits started in the USA 😠...................

I had the same airgun in .44 caliber, it was a Big Game 909. That thing would drop a deer 🦌. 10 good shots before I had to recharge with a scuba tank. I used a lead .440 roundball, ballistics were on par with a .45 blackpowder rifle loaded with a patched lead roundball & 60 grains ffg.

I wish they would have sent us the Air Bolts - that was the ENTIRE reason they offered to send me the gun after they saw my comment on IV88888's video. They gave me some code where I would get a commission for sales, but it is a java script I can't use in a YT description. I really got the raw end of the deal. I try to operate with a minimum budget so I can ensure I earn SOMETHING from ad revenue but I over-spent on this one.

as an archer this is why I hate aluminium arrows, due to "archer's paradox" when an arrow is fired it bends around the bow, aluminium arrows don't last long before they end up as wavy pieces of junk.
it also doesn't help that the tip being the heaviest part has more inertia than the shaft so the shaft tends to bend before the arrow is released. carbon fibre or fibre glass would have been better for this gun especially if you planned to reuse them

Pretty neat. I made a gas-powered spear gun many years ago out of a CO2 fire extinguisher, copper plumbing supply line, and a few fittings so that it was shaped like a long-barreled pistol. The big difference with CO2 is that - unlike the case with compressed air - the CO2 pressure is constant shot after shot until the last shot. The other difference is, of course, that the pressure from CO2 is much less than that from, say, a scuba tank's pressure. I fired short steel spears made from hardware store steel rod that I threaded to take spearheads, and it was very powerful, very successful, and very compact and easy to maneuver under water. With lighter spears it would be pretty formidable as an air gun, because the internal diameter of the copper supply line is big enough that the force, even at low pressure, pushing against the sealing flange at the back of the spear, really accelerates it. Within range of about 15 feet, it would send a spear through a large striped bass like it was made of styrofoam. Neat little shotgun in this video - and entertaining as always.

Aubrey Baker I don't think so, lots of other channels have been experiencing a decrease in ad revenue as well as general demonetization. I think that weapons channels in general are getting hit hardest, and by weapons I mean swords, knives, axes, as well as guns, tanks, and planes. There's one well known channel amongst the sword community that actually had their channel taken by (presumably) a RUclips bot with no warning what so ever.

WET: The Magazine of Gourmet Bathing was a publication of the 1970s and early 80s. Founded by Leonard Koren in 1976 it ran thirty-four issues before closing in 1981.[1] The idea for the magazine grew out of the artwork Leonard Koren was doing at the time-what he termed ‘bath art’

I just checked out this Airshotgun and it seems, that you can get one of those fully legal here in Germany!
I will explain, why I'm surprised that much:
The laws on weapons in Germany are one of the tightest in the whole world. It's even illegal to carry around a P.AK. gun with blank cartridges, if you don't have the 'Kleiner Waffenschein' which literally means 'LITTLE license to carry around weapons'. And of course you can theoretically get yourself a license for REAL guns, but without any heavy reasons, there is no chance. Even hunting is something, which only ONE guy per city is allowed to do! And in this country, with these laws, it's FULLY LEGAL to own one of these! Crazy, isn't it?!?
Oh and by the way: I was serving for almost 12 years, I even was in Afghanistan from 2004-2006. Now I'm reservist, but still not allowed to possess guns with live ammunition...

*Pretty sharp and deadly. **allabout.wiki/5u98** The heads are misaligned with the fletching, causing some accuracy issues but that's an easy fix. Once aligned the erratic point of impact settles down altogether.*
