Is McGregor a top tier actor? No.
Is he absolutely fucking hilarious just being himself amped up as a character? Absolutely, funniest part of this whole thing 😂
He was so funny 😂😂 him and Moe.
His character injected SO much energy when it needed it most. There are two movies in this and the second part was way more entertaining, he is a major piece to that. "I got a message from you, from your fATHer. Bom" Had me laughing so hard.

Mo made this movie so much fun. I adore his actor. But overall I really loved Jake's portrayal. Great reaction you two too. Your commentary always makes me laugh.

I still think they missed a golden opportunity to name her boat “Boat House”

What Achara said makes sense cause I definitely will scroll on my phone a lot for movies I'm not super invested in. With this going straight to streaming, my expectations weren't high in the least and i didnt even know they were remaking this until a few days before its release. I got a good laugh out of Moe and McGregor. It was just fun, and with only seeing some of the original, I wasn't comparing it at all and could simply sit back & enjoy what I was being given.
That’s all you needed lol, people are making a big deal about the remake because of Swayze. The plot of the original is so stupid 🤣 but Swayze literally carries the movie. This one has a plot and lots of laughs and makes fun of how ridiculous the OG is and how everybody fights randomly 🤣. It was entertaining…….just like the original. I enjoyed my time spent watching this 😅

@@iamatn3317 i think it failed at being deep, the whole subplot of Dalton being haunted by his ufc days was very meh, it broke rhythm way too often without any flow even for a dumb action movie. It felt like two different people were editing the movie, one moment it wants to be deep in a meh kind of superficial way, another it wants to be a fun popcorn flick! I have no problem with either but the transitions were too abrupt. The main villain and his motivation was too juvenile. Conor Mcgregor was the best part of the movie. Wish they would've kept it full action throughout, between him and Jake. Would've made the movie so much better, it wasn't bad but could've been so much better if they just made the whole thing Dalton vs Knox throughout. Even with the same plot, the romance was also very unnecessarily executed.

@@Mwoods2272It's 100% true, have you been living under a rock for the last ten years? That's the most common complaint with bigger budget action movies. She didn't say that's how all movies nowadays are, just that the vast majority of movies like this, especially those that are direct to streaming, are written with that in mind. This movie was no different, not a whole lotta subtlety. Is it a bad movie? Not at all.
@@eigerw Not only is it true for streaming at home but it's also sadly true in the movie theater. Too often you'll notice people taking out their damn phones in the theater for whatever reason. It's a addiction, have to check the socials all the time least we miss something. More and more people seem to have ADD it seems.
That's the way TV used to be written a long time ago - it was assumed that people would be watching in a distracted state (eating dinner, kids watching with you, and constantly asking questions, running around, needing to go to the bathroom, you're tired from work, etc.), and this was before the days of VCR, DVD, streaming, so you could only watch an episode, maybe twice, unless it went into syndication, so they were written so that there was no way you would miss anything critical.

Watching this with the shape Jake is in, the character's brutality when he snaps and the stabby ending to Knox. I couldn't help but think of him as Wolverine.

I LOVE both roadhouses. I loved the dynamics between dalton, the dr and his best friend.
This one I enjoyed the lone wolf on the road to redemption aspect. Also the fight choreography for the 2nd one was phenomenal. Fight scenes are always better with fit, capable and fighters. Lol

Great reaction to both of the Roadhouses, and I thank you for being honest and having as much fun on both of them as I did. I was learning extra today about AI and its ability to quickly manufacture scenes from creativity that look absolutely real now. I was wondering how we would know if an AI program won a Golden globe one day because they are incredible right now as far as what they can do. I freaked out on learning about Devin or Devon, can't remember which but I'm just a human. 😊
There's a good interview by Jake and McGregor about creating this movie and how it was done and why it was done this way. It's about 4 or 5 days old I think, but it has lots of views. I just thoroughly enjoyed it after watching your reaction to this remake. 😊

I just watched this the other day. I love both movies. With it being more in a exotic look and more updated dialogue it was just as good and fun. I think McGregor did great as well. Great video guys 👍

It felt like this script was just kicking around and the studio said lets change some things and slap Roadhouse on it to get some eyes.

The big debate is should this have come out in theaters like originally planned, or right to streaming? As a streamed movie I think it was great, but I would have been disappointed if I had to pay theater prices to see it.
I'm pretty sure i remember reading somewhere, that even going waaaay back, it was kind of a rule, that if a ruckus starts, the entertainment, is to keep on entertaining.

Even though I liked the original, but I did enjoy the fact that in this version we get more depth to who Dalton is. All we knew about him in the original is he was dangerous but not where or what made him dangerous other than him ripping somebody’s throat out in the past and knowing to fight. Say what you but this version added more to the story. Was it the best execution? No but if you don’t always compare this to the original but it was pretty enjoyable with a little modern 80s charm. And even though the original is iconic and loved by all of us, it wasn’t perfect either
If you want his diet, it's simple the singer is straight edge, no smoking, no drugs, no alcohol, vegetarian, no coffee ect...

I do watch a lot of content on my 2nd screen while working on PC, but I actually sat in my home theater with popcorn for this... only to lose interest and go on my phone. Right around the time Brandt punched the captain instead of hurting the barber - oh, I guess we just get villains who do things that make no sense. The motivation didn't make sense, the way they went about it didn't make sense, even the bar didn't make sense (people just come there, in a fairly small community, to get bullied for months by a biker gang or to get into fights? Must be nice to own the only place where you're allowed to drink in Florida...)
Sometimes, the movie forces you to scroll because you realize there isn't much story and exposition is so in your face that you don't need to figure anything out - it's just fed to you.

I grew up watching the original movie before I was even old enough to watch PG-13 movies. Loved Swayze because of that movie and Red Dawn and Ghost. I was cautiously optimistic about this movie. Now, I can't get enough of this movie, it's fucking badass.

The original raod house had a 80s charm to it that you just can't replicate because when you do it just dosnt work plus this one was so waterd down this one had no nudity or sex scene and the relationship with the doctor went nowhere.

I don't know why they added the relationship with that girl in the first place. for this type of movie its pointless. it's just a fun obnoxious movie with a lot of fights and action. trying to find a drama or a deep meaning here is like ordering an ice cream and wondering why it doesn't taste like ramen

I had the pleasure of watching this fantastic movie today and I am impressed with it. 10/10 i rate this just as I rated the original. The entire cast was perfection and especially Jake who was outstanding as daulton. 👍👍 Two thumbs up.

This was better than I thought it would be but not nearly as good as the original. Never did I think Dalton or Collin were in any danger of dying. And they miss the drama of what happens to Sam ellliors wade Garrett in the original.

I liked this movie much better. Most likely having seen both back to back for the first time, this movie's flow and action were much better (at least to my sensibilities) compared the 80s cheese of the original. People claiming the 80s version was just indisputably better need to take off their nostalgia goggles. Each movie had it's pros and cons.
