In several interviews over the years, actor Marshall Teague who played Jimmy, said that the final fight between his character and Dalton, which took place down by the river was a real fight. He didn't like Swayze when he first arrived on set, because he said that Swayze basically ignored him for the first 2 weeks and he thought that he was a stuck up Hollywood douche. So during the beginning of the fight, Swayze lands a light kick on him and he mocked him for it. So the second take, Swayze lands a "freight train" of a kick on him, as he called it and he went flying. Teague, being a kickboxing champion from his Army days told Swayze "Now that's more like it" and the two of them went at it for real. The blood running down Teague's eye was from a real cut Swayze gave him from a round house kick and the log that Teague busted over Swayze's ribs breaking 2 of them, was a real log, not a prop and it wasn't in the script either, he just grabbed it and hit Swayze with it. They both had to go to the hospital after finishing the fight scene and both became good friends after that, having earned each other's respect.

Yes he was blind. Jeff Healey was a Canadian guitarist, singer and songwriter whose band sold millions of blues-rock records and who also pursued a passion for old-time jazz, ...Blind from early childhood due to retinoblastoma (a rare form of eye cancer), Jeff Healey's guitar playing virtuosity and soulful voice saw him rise to prominence in the entertainment world in the late 1980s and ‘90s selling millions of albums worldwide. Jeff Healey passed away on March 2nd, 2008 after a three-year battle with sarcoma cancer. He was 41-years-old.

Great musician. he had a couple hits in his time. "Angel Eyes" is probably his biggest sone, along with his version of "When My Guitar Gently Weeps". I remember reading that George Harrison complimented on his version of the song ( if I remember correctly, I think George also sang backup in the choras from the song).Loved his music, remember seeing him on The Tonight Show with Johny Carson as well as seeing him in a YT video playing with Stevie Ray Vaughn.

As a head bouncer who had worked at a lot of bars and events, I was respected by other bouncers in the city i live in
for how i would handle confrontations and situations without resorting to violence and fighting.
I would teach bouncers/doormen etc., that it doesn't matter how big and strong and big you are it is using your head to
to work out to defuse the situation first.
Me myself, working at one bar for 5 years had incidents only 3 times that turned ugly and got attacked.
Otherwise, every other removal from the bar was walking the patron out on their own accord.
So, what Dalton said about following 3 simple rules is pretty much the same as what we did lawfully using the acronym A.C.T or ACT.
A- Ask the patron to leave the premises.
C- Caution the patron if they refuse to leave, they will be Trespassed and removed by reasonable. force and/or arrested by buy the police.
T- Trespassed and reasonable force is used to remove them from the premises and arrested ,barred from the premises (usually 2years)
    possibly charged by the police.
As long as we follow those steps laid out, we are covered by the law as long as the bouncer doesn't just beat the patron up or the bouncer will be arrested and charged too.
Every person who works as a bouncer/doorman/bodyguard/security guard here has to be licensed a C.O.A (Certificate of Approval) to show that they are competent to work in the security industry as a bouncer etc etc. And must carry and display it so the patrons and public wearer is security etc etc.
The C.O.A details on the license is Photo, License number and date s from and to that is valid for.

Wade Garrett, the legend that taught Dalton all he knows, how does anyone not know this? ;-)
I once saw Wade kill three men in a bar using nothing but his mustache. The results of that was that the judge forced him to either register it as a lethal weapon or shave it off. Sad day for coolers all over, it’s rumored to be treated as a day of remembrance in bouncers offices everywhere.
In the immortal words of Peter Griffin… Road House.
Edit: this is a Western, well, in the style of. Bad guy has control of the town, hired gun comes strolling in, townsfolk are all being beat up by the bad guy, hired gun helps the townsfolk remove bad guy, day is saved. It’s quite formulaic when you put that lens on it. The only real difference is the end, the drifter shouldn’t have gotten the girl, he was supposed to just ride off to the next town where it all happens again.

One of my sister's all-time favorite movies. I watched it a lot with her growing up. She always pushed back at the idea of a remake even before one was announced.
I always thought there'd be room for a remake that captures the essence of the original that's not as grimy. Maybe the Jake Gyllenhaal remake will be that, I don't know.

For more Swayze fight scenes, check out Next of Kin, Steel Dawn, Point Break, Uncommon Valor, Black Dog.
He fights a bit in Dirty Dancing and The Outsiders as well.

28:50 That scene where Patrick Swayze comes is the whole range of acting emotions. Struts in, laughs to see Sam Elliott laying sideways on the bar, jokes on having one beer too many, comes by to wake him, turns Sam over, just for the knife to just come into shot. That range starts from smiling, to shocked, to horror, glaring at a friend, sadness, mourning, shaking, pity with the hand, realising for removing the knife, calming gasping to relax, starting to tear in the right eye, licking the lips, hyperventilating clutching the knife, tear roll down whilst clasping the knife grip. Not saying a word that setup the whole ending.

And the Actress who would become Sam Elliot’s wife! Kathrine Ross! Hopefully down the road you’ll give it a chance!🍿🙏🏻

It was good for the time especially watching it on the big screen which was a huge thing back then. I was 19 yrs old and loved going to the movies with family and friends. I was working at the hospital, just graduated from high school and took a girl I was dating to go see this movie. Mullets were a thing and yes I had one down to my shoulders lol. I personally had fun watching it and she as well . Fun times.
Stop with the remakes please! 😆 😎

    This should blow yer minds:
In Road House, Ben Gazzara (B Wesley) refers to Dalton as "a Drifter".
U guys mentioned Dalton NOT cursing much throughout, well in The Big Lebowski, Ben Gazzara basically repeats his "Gather unto me..." role as porn publisher Jackie "I want MINE!" Treehorn.
Funny part is that Sam Elliot not only appears there as-well, "The Drifter", but ironically questions "The Dude" as to why he uses so many "CURSE-WORDS!" 😎

It's a little unusual, but it's funny, entertaining, even heartwarming and has a good message. Drag queens stuck in a small midwestern town. The initial draw is seeing macho action stars in drag, but Swayze, Snipes and especially John Leguizamo take their roles seriously and are very convincing as drag queens. It's worth a watch.
The only downside is that this was at the point of Swayze's career where his stardom was starting to fade. Brad Pitt was the next big thing by then.

    Jeff Healey is really blind.
When he was almost one year old, Healey lost his sight due to retinoblastoma, a rare cancer of the eyes.
His eyes had to be surgically removed, and he was given ocular prostheses.
He was an amazing blues/rock artist. He was also one of Stevie Ray Vaughn's favourite guitarists.
And is a legend here in Canada
