    Look at how he used Steven Spielberg blue print, but also managed to produce something of himself. It's like he uses books and studies then to make a great product. Brilliant just brilliant.

      Also a great movie, but the actors are too old. In Saving Private Ryan, and Fury, the kids are 25-35 years old, not 18-25.

      Neil Wilson I believe you speak the truth.

    • @TVgamesandvids
      @TVgamesandvids 7 лет назад +1

      Neil Wilson I mean, they aren't supposed to be kids. Both groups in Saving Private Ryan and Fury are depicted as soldiers who have clearly worked together for years and bonded as a unit, that's why Norman was the youngest character and the only 'kid' in Fury. During the Omaha beach scene in Saving Private Ryan, the beach is full of young soldiers who can't be much older than 20.

    love them both. what a pity that the camera work in this interview was not good, shaky, too close and I would rather have kept them both in frame from 1:14 onwards, would have been more interesting than seeing all the random people to the right.

    Nolan executed authenticity over realism, introduced an extremely thrilling film that will last through the ages, it was his style that makes this film Trump over SPR.

    • @clarkkent9009

      War is about realism, that is authenticity. What the fuck are you talking about? Dunkirk is a snooze fest compared to SPR.

    Comparing Dunkirk vs Saving Private Ryan
    Realism (3pt), execution (3pts) and entertainment (3pts)
    Realism = Dunkirk 2pt, SPR 1pt (slight edge)
    Execution = Dunkirk 2pt, SPR 1pt (slight edge)
    Entertainment = SPR 3pt (clear edge)
    Total = SPR 5 Dunkirk 4
    Saving Private Ryan is somewhat superior
    Summary
    Although Saving Private Ryan is one of the most realistic war films ever, Dunkirk tops SPR because of the extensive emphasis of realism by Nolan for the film. Execution wise, is very close. Both films have spectacular execution, but in very different ways. In terms of edge, Dunkirk has intensity throughout combined with spectacular sound effects and a unique and solid plot progression. SPR has flawless and convincing acting with a great plot progression. Dunkirk takes the slight edge due to the simple flawlessness of its execution. In terms of entertainment, saying Dunkirk gets zero points sounds like an insult. But it isn't. SPR is simply that good. SPR has a clear advantage in terms of entertainment, as to why it has all 3 points. SPR has thorough emotion and thrill when describing it's captivation effectiveness. Dunkirk has strong intensity, although not enough to offset SPR's clear edge. Both movies are overall masterpieces by the way.
    Christopher Nolan is the best director of all time in my personal opinion. His movies are flawless and has yet to make a film that hasn't been regarded as a gem.

    The difference between Dunkirk and Saving Private Ryan is that Spielberg didn't drown his film in extremely annoying ambient music that just drones on and on

    • @randomguy6679
      @randomguy6679 7 лет назад +9

      MatthewLedZepfan your right, he just americanized everything and turned every german into an evil bastard. At least we didnt see the germans in Dunkirk.

    • @chilliroach560
      @chilliroach560 7 лет назад +5

      Yeah.. Spielberg drowned his movie in annoying patriotism and after the landing scene it goes all to a joke..

    • @dccaleb5529
      @dccaleb5529 6 лет назад +1

      The alternative is dialogue or just leaving it to be boring. Exchanging gunfire is naturally way more suspenseful than realistic dogfights, boating, and waiting at the beach. It’s much easier for Spielberg to keep the music out and still have suspense than it is for Nolan, so the music is needed.
      Not to mention it’s good. I have no idea why the music would annoy someone.
