I remember he was a big Duran Duran fan. I'm guessing that's why he started incorporating 80's music into his songs. I actually went as far as elementary school with him. I wasn't very good friends with him so I don't remember much. I think I remember that he talked a lot. He was a smart guy too. In honors classes and what not. Never thought he'd end up in music. I would've figured science.
I heard this song today in Forever 21 as I was about to leave the store. I stayed in the store and meandered through the clothes just so I could copy down the lyrics and listen to the whole song. It has kind of an 80's vibe to it.
Exactly! that 80's feel is the main reason I like it along with his other songs and other artist such as Toro Y Moi, Neon Indian, Washed Out, Little Dragon etc..
+tyler borbon it was probably like me and two others jamming out to this in the entire crowd you could just tell this wasnt their feel for music. oh well i had a blast
I was at that show too! I'd never heard of him before, and honestly it didn't initially grab me. But months later I looked him up cause I was curious what happened with him, and then fell in love with his music! What a wild ride.
She'll lose herself in bright-lit skies She watches the sun go by And even if her love runs dry She'll be there for the summertime But it chills me to the bone That she might be the sweetest thing I've ever known And I'd rather be with her than be alone You've got me under your spell Baby, I couldn't fall harder You know it all too well Baby, I couldn't fall harder Baby, I couldn't fall harder She loves to leave me in the dark She's always a mystery But even in the pouring rain There's nowhere else I'd rather be And I know deep down inside We were meant to be together, her and I And it hurts to sit around and wonder why You know it all... You've got me under your spell Baby, I couldn't fall harder You know it all too well Baby, I couldn't fall harder Baby, I couldn't fall harder
The older couple lost their sense of youth, lost their fire/passion in their relationship. In the beginning scene, the man receives a watch - representing the time that's passed (He even turns the watch back in time). In his youth, he received the toilet paper, which to me, represents the mischievous spirit of being young. Once he walks in the party, he sees his wife's younger counterpart, and reminisces on being young, hence, he throws the toilet paper again - revisiting his youth aka rekindling his relationship with his wife. Truly a very human story, which many never get such a happy mending of their marriage.
Yeah, that's my interpretation. I'm going through struggles in my relationship of 12 years and i watched this the other night and just bawled like a kid.
I am so late to the party on this one. Now I can’t stop playing this song and watching it over and over. Heard it in a furniture store last week. Now I’m hooked on Vaporwave.
I used to hear this song on the radio at work. I heard the 'chirping' sounds in the background and thought someone was cutting spider wraps or setting off fire doors on the other side of the store all the time.
My ex showed me this song. He broke up with me. Now everytime i miss him I will listen to this song and close me eyes. I feel like he was stilling siting beside me driving me to somewhere fun.
@@user-vi4xy1jw7eThe new name was a transition into indie and out of vaporwave, which is what I found and loved him for. All these years later, there's quite a few SS songs I enjoy, but his catalog as SP is unmatched.
Wow, got to this channel thanks to Rob Pinkston's ig (coconut head from ned's declassified). And I seriously enjoy Spencer's music :^) I hope the artist gets even more popular! Great work!
This song makes me both happy and sad. Makes feel like I’m some cool kid in a John Hughes movie. However it gives me the feel that I’m cool and chill at this very moment, but that I’ll peak at the next corner, and never meet my prom crush Jennifer/Stacey/Joan/Sabrina/Hannah/Cyndi/Patrica ever again 😢 #memoriesthatneverhappened
This song remember my ex I told her if in some point of the relationship, dont work, use this video to remember the good time, but i think she didnt suport me on my low moment of my life Great song
anyone know a song that has the same melody as this one in the beginning, and has a girl singing? this song reminded me of it and i cant remember what it was called. i think i saw it on a gopro video or something similar. haha
I went to high school with Skylar Spence. Pretty wild to see him get so huge. I hadn't known he was a legit musician until recently.
Omg
What was he like back in high school?

Diego Espitia I wonder if he remembers you.
Yea I'm sure he does considering there was only 2 Diegos in our school including me.

+vxy357 You should listen to some of his vaporwave stuff, its pretty good. He went by the name saint pepsi :)
+efrain6299 I don't consider saint pepsi's music as vaporwave, it seems more like future funk.
+vxy357 right? it totally has an 80s feel to it
+Ferny Martinez Saint Pepsi was a bit of vaporwave, funk and a lot of stuff tbh but Skylar Spence is no longer vaporwave at all.
Takes me back to October 2019, when I was a Freshman in High School!! Miss those days!!😊😢
Skylar Spence is criminally underrated
The crazy timeline nostalgia is killer. Amazing art direction.
saw this guy perform this song live at the madeon concert at fox theater in pamona and omg he was amazing! he played the guitar sang live
+tyler borbon it was probably like me and two others jamming out to this in the entire crowd you could just tell this wasnt their feel for music. oh well i had a blast
+tyler borbon SAME it upset me, but oh well. I was jamming!
+Erika Nebergall heard him for the first time yesterday at Madeon's concert in orlando, different style but definitely liked it!
I was at that show too! I'd never heard of him before, and honestly it didn't initially grab me. But months later I looked him up cause I was curious what happened with him, and then fell in love with his music! What a wild ride.
how are this not over million. Quality music. True Quality.
+Koios Ronin opinions
This song is amazing
I dig both of his sounds: this current material and his classic Vaporwave stuff. I hope he throws in a sick Vaporwave track every once in a while...
She'll lose herself in bright-lit skies
She watches the sun go by
And even if her love runs dry
She'll be there for the summertime
But it chills me to the bone
That she might be the sweetest thing I've ever known
And I'd rather be with her than be alone
You've got me under your spell
Baby, I couldn't fall harder
You know it all too well
Baby, I couldn't fall harder
Baby, I couldn't fall harder
She loves to leave me in the dark
She's always a mystery
But even in the pouring rain
There's nowhere else I'd rather be
And I know deep down inside
We were meant to be together, her and I
And it hurts to sit around and wonder why
You know it all...
You've got me under your spell
Baby, I couldn't fall harder
You know it all too well
Baby, I couldn't fall harder
Baby, I couldn't fall harder
thank you!
Thanks a lot.
1:14 hero
I truly in all honesty shed tears of joy to this video
+Darkcrowdeath me too lol
Seriously thought I was the only one.
Its a good story
Why life has to be beautiful and perfect for the characters of music videos?
especially since skylar spence is an ugly fuck
No he isn't😂
Because beauty and perfections only last the length of a song, sadly...
Both the song and the music video are so sweet 😚

this music video hits my heart
This is my new song for the summer. Even though it came out forever ago

awesome tune for the warm changing weather right now
Beautiful, both the song and the video. Saint Pepsi did magnificent job on this one.
Nothing in this entire world hits harder than that "baby i could't fall harder", makes me wanna cry for no reason
I was at Pret a Manger yesterday morning, and this song came on! Thank The Lord for Shazam!!!
I am so late to the party on this one. Now I can’t stop playing this song and watching it over and over. Heard it in a furniture store last week. Now I’m hooked on Vaporwave.
This vid hit me right in the feels
That beginning hits me on another level. Thank you express
This video gets me everytime.
Love this song. Found it in a Playlist. Sorry I'm late Skylar.
Esta canción me gusta mucho, que pienso dedicarla cuando sea un momento adecuado :)

wow this is a cool song never heard it before.
I used to hear this song on the radio at work. I heard the 'chirping' sounds in the background and thought someone was cutting spider wraps or setting off fire doors on the other side of the store all the time.
Literally shed a tear for the plot of the video. Absolutely bursting with emotions ♥️
Dude I fucking love Saint Pepsi/Skylar Spence and will always unironically listen to vaporwave.
It is one of my favorite songs and I love the videoclip!
most favorite music video I have seen
This is a great song. Excellent video & message. PROPS.
saint pepsi has such a wide range, good to see him making moves :)
Tune is bad ass
This brings back good memories
oh jesus christ that intro. so beautiful and for some reason, kinda nostalgic
Cried alittle. It's a good one.
This guy was Saint Pepsi if I'm not mistaken?
+Salvador Sandoval
Yeah, he's the same person as far as I can tell. But you can't tell at all by listening to them, they're completely different!
+Keith
he's still got some congruencies in his style
+Keith Yeah because he stopped fuvking sampling

The beginning reminds me of the beginning from "Feel It All Around" by Washed Out
My ex showed me this song. He broke up with me. Now everytime i miss him I will listen to this song and close me eyes. I feel like he was stilling siting beside me driving me to somewhere fun.
Nola Chen :(
Just started seeing someone new and this song is how i feel!
I'd been staying away from "Skylar Spence" since the transition from Saint Pepsi, but I loved this video and the song is great too.
He still uses Saint Pepsi for vaporwave
Why have you stayed away because of a name change? That's dumb.
@@user-vi4xy1jw7eThe new name was a transition into indie and out of vaporwave, which is what I found and loved him for. All these years later, there's quite a few SS songs I enjoy, but his catalog as SP is unmatched.
VIBE FOR LIFE
Underrated bop
Good Song !!! :`)

*Spence
+Eliska Chan Have you checked out "Fiona Coyne". He (Skylar Spence) was formerly known as Saint Pepsi, so you can listen to his older songs.
Amo esta canción😍
I love you Marina!
The "prom king" album version of this song was absolute shit compared to the original. Yet I still love this song so fucking much.

This song makes me both happy and sad. Makes feel like I’m some cool kid in a John Hughes movie.
