    I am from India on H1b, did my masters here from a reputed US university, lived here for more than 6 years, payed my taxes, law abiding, always learning and improving, i think i did everything right. I might have to adandon my American dream very soon. Though i think i am victim of the stringent laws . I am glad that USCIS has started cracking down on those malicious consulting companies who have been exploiting and abusing the H1b system. Trust me, I know for sure, not all H1b holders and employers are bad, there are some highly qualified competent workers, who are victimized by the new executive orders. However, one has to understand that, its becasue of those few bad ones we can't nice things in this world. This is just my personal opinion.

    As an Immigrant who came here on H1B and become.a proud citizen my advice to young H1B aspirants is to give up the US dream, unfortunately it is dead and long gone, go back to your family and friends in India and work towards your own progress. It may sound harsh. You have a true freedom in India and business and growth opportunities are much better than what it was when I left the country almost 25 years ago. Take advantage of growing Indian economy

Now any tom, dick and harry goes there, gets a degree from some third rate college and wants a green card. Not everyone of those people are sundar pichai. Indians are not entitled to jobs in the US.

    FYI his mother (Trump’s mother) was an Scottish immigrant and got naturalized citizenship thru marriage. As far as read so far, based on merit point system trump’s administration is suggesting for the future immigrants to enter this country, his mother would not have been able to get here ! Irony to the extreme!

    There is no compulsion on the part of the United States to offer jobs to foreigners. In a country where the median hourly wage has been stagnant for 30 years, this is understandable.
    These tech companies that hire foreigners while not training local citizens have done the country a disservice.
    About time that local resources are trained and used.
    Anyone who suggests that learning technologies is a long drawn process is wrong- 5 years ago maybe, but not anymore. Give me six months and anyone with a college degree can be trained in internet technologies such as Ruby on Rails, Ruby, Json etc
    This presentation that the United States needs foreign resources is no longer true. Technologies are no longer that complicated that they need a two year CS graduate from abroad.

    Rubbish, the United States owes those here on employee visas nothing more than what was agreed to when that visa holder first entered the country. Regardless of how long the stay, an employment visa is a temporary visa and a path to immigration is neither implied nor in any way suggested. What must be done to bring the H-1B system back into balance is end the duel intent nature of the visa. In 1990 it was simply an employment visa. It was later changed.

    How is an H1B Visa an immigration issue? It's for a foreign worker to work here for a temporary period and then return to their country of origin. Immigration is when a foreigner comes here with the intent of staying here and becoming a legally naturalized citizen.

    Just lost my job to an Indian. My org at Walmart Labs (my recent employer) was hiring dozens of Indians every week straight out of India. Never ONCE hiring someone born in America, despite it being in Sunnyvale, CA. These Indians work more hours for less pay usually on contracts without any paid vacation, benefits, or anything. And they will do it all with a smile on their face because they are desperate. Those of us born in America that like the 40 hour workweek, vacations, basic benefits, etc are losing their jobs left and right to these people that are absolutely flooding the tech industry and costing Americans millions of job every year.

  • @nole8923

    You reap what you sow. I was myself a victim of h-1b visa abuse. There is no tech shortage. H-1b should be for geniuses with special skills that cannot be found or taught.
    And once an Indian visa person gets into a management position they only hire or promote h-1b Indians from their specific clan. They bring their caste system with them and impose it on Americans if they can. In other words Americans are on a lower caste than them.
    Time to go home and give Americans the jobs and pay they deserve.

      @Snow 123 yup , u got dat right bro. Are u of Indian origin or American native local citizen u have good knowledge about that. Actually it used to be certain indians who reached the heights in India ,certain ethnicities, class of people ,but after economic liberalisation every shitty ones getting money ,& only dream of them is getting to USA & Europe. I had several opportunities , I declined. My relatives we're there since 1970 s ,in research, now many in finances , & Law. They were totally assimilated with the culture . But indians , especially large of dem from South indians in IT , & North indians , majorly Punjabis , Gujjus & every other North indians always brag , fantises about largely America ,or Europe - west , getting der , being successful , iys like a status quo or like dey are getting to Moon , but dey barely understand the culture. rather than solving 99 problems from over population of certain inferior races which diminished the very good sides . This should have happened. And Donald Trump is giving Indian s a golden chance to improve our own country , nation's. But no they gotta do it in America. Why America doesn't owe us H1B s or any visas. Most culprit is J1 hotel worker ,or short 1 year visas. Most easy to access USA for Indian cheap hotel workers , sometime dey are scammed ,& overstayed and never leaves. Which Donald Trump even knows. As a hotelier. He should ban J1 and other work program visas , as H1 B to other outsourcing countries .

Approve student visas of like a zillion people regardless of qualifications (raise their hopes for a better tomorrow), make them invest 20-30k $ for education, make them walk the plank for finding a decent job... And then the final nail in the coffin - once they've done the seemingly impossible, tell 'em "Hey, thanks for all that revenue. But you're shit outta luck. Vacate our premises, go back home".
    There ya have it. Casino!

Most lack aptitude and patience to pursue a stem degree. Yes I am back in India, leading by example now. I am the first of many to return. India needs it's heroes and many are rising up to take up that mantel. As for Americans being dull, go to University and see how many Americans are in STEM. You see a handful of Mexican-Americans, and the rest are Asian-American or mostly International students. STEM is something where Americans are lacking. Frankly being called dull is not bad, Americans have done worse, using the N-word, calling other;s dot-heads, a racial tag for every race. I can say whatever I want America owes me nothing and I am in India in my castle living my life.

    She did not mention anything about the misuse of the H1B visa. The H1B was meant to bring in high-level outsider engineer to fill a gap but it seems companies abused the H1B to "replace" existing American citizen employees. Several Indian engineers have also complained against this trend that is undermining the worth of truly competent Indian engineers. Business interests cannot rule over the national interests of any country. Please tell us the whole truth.

So only the best get asked for a H1B. So with no change in constitution it is clear its because there is more open hatred.

    H-1B should be decreased rapidly. The persons who should be allowed stay are those who come here and get MS and/or PhD in STEM areas. Just forklifting a programmer from India to come and do some coding are really not needed. These jobs can be automated and hence outsourced.

    • @sganti2498
      @sganti2498 6 лет назад

      Ok so you believe the MS/PhD's from here are superior to a programmer with several years of experience back home? well my experience seems to differ. I have seen several MS grads from here who might speak better english than the back-home programmer, but are clueless when it comes to writing a simple SQL query or putting together a static html page. Education is not a substitute for experience.

    • @debchatterjee6708
      @debchatterjee6708 6 лет назад +1

      Srinivas Ganti: there are anecdotal examples where someone from India with only 2 courses in Java or C++ had been forklifted and brought here in USA and displaced Americans. (Disney is an example). Second, I have seen other examples where Indian code masters write no superior code than Americans or US educated foreigners. Code functions can be automated or the entire process can be outsourced to India. Why forklift people from India and bring them here to displace Americans? If the companies want to make profit with cheap labor, they should move operations there!
      Finally it is not the fault of the Indian IT professionals to come here and face the uncertainty. The fault lies clearly with these US companies who are too greedy.

    • @sganti2498
      @sganti2498 6 лет назад

      Deb: The comparison was between Indian US STEM grads Vs Experienced programmers "forklifted". I don't think they teach many languages & technologies at US grad schools, neither it is necessary IMO. I personally trained and groomed many programmers myself - both US grads and forklifted, and I don't see much difference except for little english skills which can be taught easily.
      I leave the matter of who should come and who should not to the citizens of USA, since this is their country and they decide their future.

    • @debchatterjee6708
      @debchatterjee6708 6 лет назад

      Srinivas Ganti: well put. Just one issue: all routine jobs shall eventually be automated, including ones that involve cleaning toilets. The pervasive use of Artificial Intelligence coupled with Big Data Analytics (Machine Learning etc.), would kill the potential of human involvement. But greedy company CEOs and VPs and Wall Street honchos are not willing to make that initial investment into automation. They are thus just hiring medium skill people and thus paying them wages that are sub par.
      And finally Computer Science is *not* about programming languages. It is about algorithms. So, your implied response that programmers are computer scientists, is not quite correct.

    • @sganti2498
      @sganti2498 6 лет назад

      I'd leave the automation to the businesses as it's not the point of discussion here. And I did not imply anything. I'm merely saying a US degree won't make anyone great (other than knowing how to market himself).

    H and L visas are perhaps the only visas which you need an attorney to file . Most of the other work visas for any other country can be processed by the person themselves. The US goverment has created labyrinthine rule book for these vias and is feeding this industry.

  • @bobbybobby3070
    @bobbybobby3070 5 лет назад

    Simple - if you are “employed” by a company who’s office you never visit ... and you are working off-site in the USA ... YOU have replaced a US IT worker who probably trained you. Indian body shop companies are unfortunately rampant with this. You have been abused ... but are part of the problem. You are NOT exceptional or “highly skilled” - you have just replaced an American IT worker. Hate to point out the facts ... but that was not what H1B program was used for. If you’re ever on “bench” or paid a penny in terms of your immigration or H1B fees or legal fees to your company, or have a payment method to do so in the future ... look in the mirror! It is illegal!

They don't want to touch the marriage visas or family Immigration because their own relatives are using these routes to enter into the US. Take the example of Maleina Trump's family, just last week the become the US citizens through the chain family Immigration. So of you want to immigrate to the US get married and live like a king.

    Issuing Visa is a discretion of that country's laws and immigration policies. Indian immigration also states the same that its the discretion of embassy to issue or not to issue visa so US is no different. Visa's cannot be issued just cus someone bought home/car etc. Its based purely on merit and skills. If USCIS says certain case does not have the merit then that is enough for a denial. Follow laws and do things right and this country welcomes everyone. We should stop whining and fighting for unjust causes.

If one Indian becomes manager, most likely, half of his/her team will be Indian for short of period of time. The worst is most of them is less qualified...
