If it has medicinal purposes it gets a lowered grade (higher number). Per the DEA's website: "Drugs, substances, and certain chemicals used to make drugs are classified into five (5) distinct categories or schedules depending upon the drug’s acceptable medical use and the drug’s abuse or dependency potential."
There are states where its legal to do just that! All you need are the seeds, a grow light, something to put the soil in & water & you will get excellent Cannabis. Or you can grow it outside if you have the land to do just that.

Being anti marijuana but supporting the legal status of alcohol and tobacco is like saying that murder is ok as long as it falls on an even day of the month. It's absolutely absurd, and there is no reason for it to be illegal. If marijuana is illegal, then alcohol needs to be scheduled 2, and tobacco needs to be scheduled 1 since they meet the requirements.

Moving the plant to schedule III doesn't make any sense when Benzodiazepines is scheduled IV, which can be deadlier. It needs to be descheduled.
