I like the slow progression of the narcissistic jerk into a gritty saiyan warrior just like Bardock. I hope to see Goku embracing more of his history instead of ignoring it, having Vegeta as an actual “friend” and sort of mentor rather than just rivals competing against each other. They have the opportunity to be able to change their goals to restoring the saiyan race while still striving to become stronger themselves.
@Luis Suazo I don't think this Goku should be redeemed. Moments of him turning around, yes; but this is far more interesting to leave Goku as an unrefined, unhinged, loose cannon in my opinion. We barely see that in Dragon Ball outside of fanfiction.
Narratively, I've noticed in just about everything before Super, a Super Saiyan is capable of beating any of the Cold Family. Power scaling would dictate that our Jerkku here (bad pun name but decent discrepancy) could beat Frieza too but unlike in the OG timeline they'd be far more even. Regardless of all that I'm hooked for the next part of this What-If!

If this What If reaches to Android/Cell Saga in the future, I hope we have a different time traveler instead of Future Trunks reacting to this Goku being an arrogant jerk before him.
I hope at some point Goku and Chi Chi get together in the story. I feel like Goku is still arrogant but not as much and will respect Chi Chi somewhat when seeing her progress. I feel like they’d have a more Bardock and Gine like relationship but only this time Gine can actually fight. I don’t think they’d be married but they’d be a couple of sorts and I feel like Gohan would be born and essentially be a different person. Since chi chi never stopped training and if GOKU hangs around enough, Gohan could be trained by both his parents and potentially never fall into a more human mindset. Goku’s side of training would teach him to always stay on top of his training so he could always be at his best and chi chi could keep him on top of his training so no one can disrespect him like goku disrespected her. This new Gohan could essentially be the new Goku(minus the brain damage) as he’ll always stay strong but also show humility, but of course with him being born years later than normal, we may not get Gohan x Videl.
I wonder how much of an impact a super genius version of the super genius that is Bulma will have on the android saga? I mean with her intelligence it is now she probably could find away to create her own version of the room of spirit and time. Hell she might be able to find away to make capsules be able to carry whole planets now. I mean she canonically invented time travel in during an apocalypse, invented gravity rooms etc...
That would be a plot twist. We could still get ranch from Raddits. Curious if tien and chi chi are an item or if chi chi is waiting for Goku to turn around.
what if humans had the ability to transform, here is my idea, after gohan had his potential unlocked, vegeta tries to get the same thing, but it fails then after trying and failing with goku and the others they forget about it until during a sparring match against android 18 krillin goes ultimate after being pushed to his limits , and they realize ultimate might be a human transformation.
@Luis Suazo true but what im suggesting is that ultimate form could be a human exclusive transformation that you have to be at least somewhat human to get.
Honestly I like this what if's Goku more than the original. This one has flaws and seems to be growing as a person. He goes through trials and struggles that affect him as a character and make him reconsider his actions up to this point. Can't wait to see Goku get his redemption.
