Love that quote, “Everything you want is on the other side of fear.” And since none of us can pause time or rewind, we have to live as much as possible (in a healthy way) so we can say we tried at least.
Thank you for sharing your story. And please always remember it's never to late to take that leap! At 43 years old I found myself divorced and an empty nester. My son left to college and I decide to move to Santa Monica best decision of my life. I look back and it would of been so easy to stay in my comfy condo in the city, but my mind, spirit and soul said take that chance on bet on YOURSELF!
Beautiful video, and very relatable. You made me remember when I decided to move to LA 16 years ago from TX, I came here with fears but mostly with a lot of excitement, coming to the unknown might be scary, but in retrospect, the recap of 16 years with up and downs has been worth it, I have accomplished things that I have never imagined, and again, I decided to do another jump to get out of my comfort zone and start writing my next chapter
Thank you for your video! I was looking for something to inspire me, as I'm in the very beginning of my journey, moving from Wisconsin to Alabama. This video makes me less afraid, and speechless!
Love this. I moved here from Connecticut 4 years ago. The drive across the country had me thinking it was nerve wracking and exciting and scary and more. And i absolutely love it here. LA is not for everyone of course but i think it’s such an amazing place to live. The cultures, the weather, the vibes, the food. No regrets. Cheers to your journey!
I’m sitting in bed rewatching this video and sobbing. I’ve been trying to manifest moving to LA for months now and I think I may have found the opportunity to make it a reality 😭 Thanks you Michael for all your travel videos and positive vibes
My friend , I moved from Spain to Utah 13 years ago and I was able to overcome that fear that you're talking about.Faith and fear can't live together and I discovered that back at the time. Also this is a good remainder of how ephemeral and impermanent life is. Thanks for your videos !
I think the universe wanted me to find this video. California looks really beautiful. I think I was meant to find this video as a sign a to let me know I'm doing the right thing. I'm very nervous about playing it and going through with my first cross country move and it's really a dive into the unknown for me. I'm 30 years old, playing in a move from Iowa to California. I'm in the planning stages right now and doing research but seeing this video lets me know it's possible to get out of your comfort zone and have fun with life. So that's what I want to do. Before my mom passed, she always had a dream of leaving Iowa and maybe moving to Florida but given how Florida is politically and with who I am it wouldn't work so I figured California would be a great place to go live the next chapter of my life. I don't see myself living in Iowa forever because I'm not really super happy here. I'm thankful for my family and friends and I love them all dearly but I'm ready for something new and a new environment. Thanks for this video, beautifully shot and edited. And seeing you happy doing your own thing gives me hope I can do the same in my own way. Thanks man, you're an inspiration. 🦈🔥🦈🔥🦈🔥🔥🤘
I started writing a Novel, but then the dreams I had as a young girl of becoming an Actress, dancer, singer…called to me again. So I decided to turn it into my first screenplay. We moved out of California in 2018, when we were in a mindset of lack- We are ready to go back home now. Our time here in Colorado was good. It needed to happen in order for us to have our spiritual awakening apart from western religion. Now we feel refreshed and ready to create new dreams- We take the beauty wherever we go- Yes! We are the creators of our life! So dream big and create! Nothing is impossible! Love your content 🤙🏻🌞🌊
We love your videos Michael! Been following for 2.5 months now recently came to LA 5 weeks ago hoping we might numb into you on a hike but we didn’t 🥺 we’re from 🇬🇧 we’d love to move to the west coast we loved LA so much! Keep up the great work dude 💙
I resonated with the part of childhood being like the good parts of a tv series. Really appreciate this vid. I just moved from CA to the South this week.
I love your videos so much! Thank you for sharing all of this, It is the same feeling I had moving from Europe to the US on my own and now after debating where to go next, your videos make me want to move to Cali already!
Wow you really inspiring rn fam !!! I’m moving to SoCal soon but I’m struggling to get there cause I’m stacking up but man I really appreciate this cause I needed this 🔥
Michael, this was beautiful!!! You've got youth and health. Take a bite of that apple and smell the flowers. Keep leaping forward and continued blessings!!!🍎💚
Dude I'm 21 and this helps me so much! Love how you explain fear and anxiety and risks. Because I'm constantly thinking of what my next move is how I'm gonna do it and what if it doesn't work out and it's driving me nuts lol, feels almost like Iost but not at the same time but like you said life has to have lows before highs, I think you said it a little different but same concept! Thank you Sir, also when I move to LA I hope you're still there and we get to meet!
Hey there young man....20s go fast....enjoy your 30s and 40s.....because once you past 50...time does fly....but every day is a blessing!! Enjoy every day! We are fragile creatures....
This was beautifully done. The way you articulated the feelings of not being present in your own life was touching and very relatable. Definitely inspired me to continue on my journey of moving cross country and re-establishing an interesting storyline for my life
Moving from Brooklyn to SoCal for school in the fall. I am scared but this helps a lot. I plan to visit many of the spots you did. Thanks for all of your hard work!
One day I had enough.. In July of 2009, I found some random guy on Craigslist who was offering a room for rent, packed my bags and moved to LA. I was there for a year before having to move back to the midwest. It was very difficult moving without knowing anyone, but looking back it was one of the more interesting times in my life. 13 years later, I am thinking of packing up and giving it another try. The conditioning of failure (as we get older) makes it even more difficult, but as they always say.. life is too short. Here's to hoping next time is different. Great video!
"things comes to those who know how to wait" . Enjoyed this well made video, just seems natural. Lots to do as I get older and new outdoor adventures just happens on its own..
Thanks so much for making this video. I recently decided to quit my horrible freelancing gig and pursue a career path I’ve been dreaming about my whole life ❤
@@MichaelMartello I’ll be trying to be your neighbour in the near future 😊 hopefully with my startup otherwise I’ll be applying to tech jobs there too How do you find the tech scene there compared to NYC (FYI I’m near London)
Hard to top Big Sur. It is by far the most spectacular, most grandly beautiful place in California I have been (okay, Yosemite too). I can see how it must have lured you to the Golden state.
Your dad has a NYC accent (or dialect) but you don't. Another RUclipsr originally from NYC too, Kenneth Chin (aka Action Kid) has a noticeable dialect. While he re-located to Florida, you've chosen California. Your videos are skillfully edited (like this one), similar to a PBS documentary, whereas his work is live-broadcast-type videos. He moved to the Miami area influenced by tax-political reasons, whereas you moved to LA for other reasons (certainly not due to its taxes). There's another major RUclipsr also formerly based in NYC now going to Texas for job-taxes-political reasons.

I'm moving to California alone, in two years. I'm 62 now. Most likely I'll end up in Sacramento.
