Welcome, Wardens! Mod list is linked in the video description above ↑↑↑↑↑ Complete modding guide - www.sinitargaming.com/dao.html Join channel community in Discord - discord.gg/XjyJvxP Note #:1 4GB (LAA) patch is now needed only for Steam game version. If you have DAO on GOG, it's not needed as it's applied natively to the game now thanks to GOG "goold old game" update as of November 13, 2024 (though, if you'll still apply 4GB patch to GOG's version .exe file, nothing bad will happen). Note #:2 Realistic Teeth mod mentioned in the video is not needed with this setup (sorry for this little bamboozle, just skip the part of the video from 21:22 to 21:41) - if you have installed it already, just delete the “Realistic_Teeth” folder from DAO override folder (can be done on existing save). Note #:3 Half-Wraith mod requires one more extra weapon mod (linked in the mod list document) to act as an assets base for one of weapon between those Half-Wraith adds. Simply download it, unzip the archive and place “Guardians of Cadash Thaig” folder to DAO override folder. Not needed if you won’t be using the Half-Wraith mod. Note #4: What to do if you’ll experience crashes in Lothering (usually when exiting from interior to exterior after some time in this location) or Denerim (also after some time played in the city)? It still can rarely happen, even after the game is patched with LAA (4GB patch) - vanilla game would be fine, but when modded, depending on how heavy your setup is, game still can sometimes hiccup memory-wise in a couple of areas densely populated with clutter and NPCs. To solve this, just take out the "000 World Base Texture Pack" folder (your biggest model/texture improving mods, remember?) out of the override folder and bring it back after you'll leave the area. Old game still has its limitations - but you can bypass the problem itself and it will likely have to be just a few times per entire walkthrough, if ever. This manipulation is 100% safe and will not affect your overall game stability or save in any way. Note #5: What's that weird weapon/armor you found at the enemy officer/boss, with weird stats, not possible to equip and with a value of around 1 silver? Due to limitations of DAO mod-making capabilities, the only way to properly improve certain enemies in a pinpoint way (iow - let's say, only this certain genlock alpha and not all genlock alphas in the game, as clearly genlock alpha in early game should be notably weaker then genlock alpha in the game's final battle) is to give them items with specific stat bonuses. Now, the thing with DAO items equipped by NPCs is that there is basically no such thing as "no drop" at all. The "no drop" parameter doesn't actually disable drop chance, but rather sets it to extremely low value, so there is still technically very low % it will drop. Hence, to avoid gameplay difficulty & economy disbalance, these items have such kind of restriction and a symbolic price - this is not very immersive, but sadly, that's the limitation of the game here. These kind of drops should be extremely rare (and maybe you will not meet them at all in entire walkthrough) - but if you'll see some of these, just ignore them or sell them to merchant. Note: If some of these items will have negative price - first of all, make sure to re-download Dragon Age Revived latest version and replace the files in your DAO override folder. If you'll still get an item with negative price - please, let me know in our discord and I'll fix this asap. Note #6: What to do if you have game on GOG, latest version, but it seems like not all DLCs were installed? If you’ll have this issue, just rollback the game version in GOG to the previous version (yup, you can do this in GOG game downloads settings), and apply the 4GB patch to the game's exe again.
I would not do something creepy as stalking anyone through walls! Jokes aside, I'm just a late millenial who is old enough to remember way too many amazing games that are considered older now. I always wanted to properly explore DAO modding and then help others to save time with it, for quite a time - and finally did it. If you'll have any questions, hop in to our discord.
It's always a pleasure to see you at work Sinitar and it couldn't come at a better time since I wanted to play DA:O again after so many years but modded this time.
appreciate this guide, i had a pretty modded DAO run that i was doing but by the time I got to haven, it was constant nonstop crashes that was most likely due to a mod conflict, couldn't figure it out what it was tho
Thank you a lot ! By the way, for the first essential mod on your list, you have an international version that allow people to keep the dialogue lines in their own languages ! From "Humhue"
I love how your DAO looks, is there any chance you make a Zip file containing all the mods you mentioned in one place? So I can just copy it into documents/bioware?
Hey there! Obviously no. Its not how it works, and more importantly, this would be a piracy and depriving mod authors of deserved downloads and endorsements of their works. Have respect to this.
Huh? No 😅 Dragon Age Redesigned is an NPC face visual overhaul. Dragon Age Revived is a complete gameplay overhaul. It's linked in both this tutorial mod list document and in my complete modding guide, so you had me really confused for a moment lol.
@SinitarG Ah, I had just assumed it was on nexus like all the others. I found it in the list. I did not find it on you guide, but I must have not opened the right section
Thanks! And yeah, you can just install one of other mods with appearance that is more to your likings. Many of them are listed in my complete modding guide on the website together with installation instructions as well.
Hey there! You don't need to lower the graphics settings. Moreover, putting graphics settings below high will result in visual glitches with some objects and NPCs when you have those affected by modded models/textures. If you had frequent crashes randomly and everywhere, you either didn't install 4GB patch properly, or have overloaded your game with way too heavy texture mods with bad optimization (there are some of those out there).
my game is unstable even after Gog's recent patch which already does the LAA for you ive just about given up and ive made it through the introduction of the game dozens of times just to face a crash where the game instantly closes or a strange bug where i cannot fast travel to the first town.
Hey there! This is clearly a result of your modding process, not the game itself. You can see see 40+ hours ultramodded walkthrough playlist linked in this video description, without a single crash. Uninstall all your mods, the game itself too, reinstall it, follow this tutorial to the letter and you'll be just fine.
Heck yeah! I was hoping to find something like this after how much of a disappointment Failguard was. Let’s all pretend it’s not canon and enjoy the game BioWare made back when they had talented writers.
Listen man if I have to acknowledge that Final Fantasy Crisis core is now Canon you gotta do the same those are the rules whether you like it or not lol
Didn't follow the instructions correctly then - doing so properly works just fine, checked it myself and was also checked by multiple community members on Steam game version.
Remember that buying Origins today is giving money to the present day studio that produced the absolute masterpiece that is Veilguard. Let that inform how you decide to find a way to play the game Origins today.
The one good thing about FailAge Transguard is that it has inspired so many people to actually play Dragon Age Origins. These sorts of mod recommendation list videos are great for that.
Hell nah, it's awesome! Tho i would have made it light gray/ gray in color and not blue/ white pattern but otherwise it's awesome brigandine style armor. And have you seen veilguard grey warden armors??? Only one that it good looking is heavy armor set, others are terrible.

The best thing about Veilguard is that it made a lot of us play Origins again.
Ya they showed that the sales for origins skyrocketed after veilguard came out
@@techead23that usually happens when a new game from an old series releases lol
it made me dust off my ps3 and go and get the platinum trophy
@@fkaluis Ya but its because people want to play them to caught up with the new game, not to cleanse themselves of the trash new game
I mean I never stopped playing but I guess haha.
You must be living in my walls, I was just thinking about modding Origins again but didn't even know where to start after a decade lol.
Great video!

Maybe one of the best games of all time. Nice to see it getting some love in your channel! Thanks!
You're most welcome - and enjoy!
why maybe ?
no maybe it definitely is
I will never be bored watching more of DAO videos😢
It's always a pleasure to see you at work Sinitar and it couldn't come at a better time since I wanted to play DA:O again after so many years but modded this time.
Thanks for the kind words mate - have fun!
What a coincidence. I just started the game with the minimal mods. Thanks now I can properly mod it.
Enjoy!
What a great game. Too bad they never made any sequels
😅
Yes, yes, the best Dragon Age game ever😘
I love you.
Regards from Spain!
Enjoy!
simply amazing guide!
Endorsed by our lord and saviour - I'm a blessed man now!
GG Sinitar, goat of modding
31:34 his collar is synchronized with his mouth 🤣
LMAO, yes. I can't unsee this now.
appreciate this guide, i had a pretty modded DAO run that i was doing but by the time I got to haven, it was constant nonstop crashes that was most likely due to a mod conflict, couldn't figure it out what it was tho
You're welcome! There can be multiple reasons for this - but yes, just follow this tutorial to the letter and you won't have a stable modded game.
Best modding guide ever ;)
Now THIS is how you remastwr a game.
just what i was looking for
You have beautiful voice.
Ah, you flatterer! Thanks ^^
If you have Xbox Ultimate with EA Play, can you use these mods on PC through the Xbox app or whatever?
Nope. You need have the game physically installed on your PC to mod it.
Thank you
You're welcome!
Thank you a lot !

Is the ''dragon age revived'' mod actally called ''dragon age redesigned''? I didn't see any revived mods on nexus or in your guide
Huh? No 😅 Dragon Age Redesigned is an NPC face visual overhaul. Dragon Age Revived is a complete gameplay overhaul. It's linked in both this tutorial mod list document and in my complete modding guide, so you had me really confused for a moment lol.
@SinitarG
Ah, I had just assumed it was on nexus like all the others.
I found it in the list.
I did not find it on you guide, but I must have not opened the right section
"Various Gameplay Mods" section of the complete modding guide on the website (if you meant it).
Hey Sinistar
Thanks for the Video
i hope you doing Alright
Sinitar* And thank you, I'm alive and kicking ✊
THANK YOU!
It's my pleasure - you're welcome!
Great video! Just kinda hate the face changes on every girl lol, but I can just not install those
Thanks! And yeah, you can just install one of other mods with appearance that is more to your likings. Many of them are listed in my complete modding guide on the website together with installation instructions as well.
I can’t seem to find the “Dragon Age revived” mod. Is it under a different name, or was it taken down?
Its literally linked in the mod list document, you don't need to search for it😅
I'd play it again if it doesn't crash. 🤷♀
Lowering the graphics + 4gb patch didn't work for me.

this is so overwhelming lmao, any reason we cant use vortex for some of these ?
Video instructions are made in exact way for reasons. Vortex and other modern mod managers are not able to install DAO mods properly.
my game is unstable even after Gog's recent patch which already does the LAA for you ive just about given up and ive made it through the introduction of the game dozens of times just to face a crash where the game instantly closes or a strange bug where i cannot fast travel to the first town.

But... People also consider Dragon Age II and Inquisition as bad, so actually, it's only Origins that is generally considered a good game
Listen man if I have to acknowledge that Final Fantasy Crisis core is now Canon you gotta do the same those are the rules whether you like it or not lol
Still missing DLC after the fix, mainly the various items
Didn't follow the instructions correctly then - doing so properly works just fine, checked it myself and was also checked by multiple community members on Steam game version.
Veilguard was so bad it brought everyone over a decade back to origins 😅
Most of the Dragon age RUclipsrs have got whiplash
.
Remember that buying Origins today is giving money to the present day studio that produced the absolute masterpiece that is Veilguard. Let that inform how you decide to find a way to play the game Origins today.

Dragon age 2 grey warden armour is probably the cringiest looking armour in the series'.
Hell nah, it's awesome! Tho i would have made it light gray/ gray in color and not blue/ white pattern but otherwise it's awesome brigandine style armor. And have you seen veilguard grey warden armors??? Only one that it good looking is heavy armor set, others are terrible.
Nah it's badass af
