These guys are geniuses, I loved guilty of everything, its when I started listening to em, but this album.. Total masterpiece, you could tell they put alot into everything they do, even thier merch, bought the tshirt/Lp bundle, was not disappointed everything is the best quality, down to the tshirt, ones of the highest quality band tshirts I ever got.
Yes I love "spreading the good word". I had a Tired of Tomorrow hat on the other day in the airport. And all the TSA guys were like "fuck yes I am" hahahha
Love seeing my favourite bands in the studio. Of how things came together. And general fun, ha! The album is depressing, but beautiful. My kind of album!
It's nice to see this whole process. The album is fantastic and you guys were great live in DC! Can't wait to see more and finally be able to purchase your vinyls ! :)
I was surprised by Nick Bassett's skillful/expressive piano playing. I was sad to learn that he had left the band suddenly in 2018 (though Aaron Heard is a very good bass player in his own right) - but I guess Nick does stuff like that.
If you like Nothing, you should check out White Lighters. It's Brandon Setta's solo stuff I'm sure you'd love it. whitelighters13.bandcamp.com/album/dracula-crybaby
i vaguely remembered him from a my chemical romance documentary i used to watch all the time when i was 13, lol. i think they toured together or something.
Has anyone who commented positively on this really watched it? These guys are trying so hard to be cool and edgy. They really showed their true colors in this, threatening to not release their album until AIDS medication is 1 dollar, like are they 16 years old? Who do they think they are? All they do is pander to teenagers and people who don't speak english. Its all aesthetic bullshit and wish more people would see that
Sandy, it says in your "About me" that you're sixteen. Also, you do covers, so it must be tough to understand the different approaches to art. Dominic did jailtime for stabbing one of the men who was jumping him, and left the hardcore scene to form Nothing. At one point, he said that he used music as an escape from what he goes through in his life. They aren't trying to be cool and edgy, that's just how they are. People who go through things in life take different approaches to handling them. He made a ridiculous offer to Shrelki almost as a joke, knowing it wouldn't happen. Man you need to do your research before making claims like this. Plus, they're older than you are, so you couldn't possibly say they're "trying" to be anything. Neither you or I have been around long enough to justify or judge others.
Forgot I commented on this. First of all I'm in my 20's, not sixteen so the band members are all around my age. You are clearly younger (I hope) and I don't know what "research" you've done but anyone with half a brain can see these guys are all aesthetic and are just not that good. If they just made music and had loyal fans because they were good that would be one thing but all they do is literally every cheap way of marketing their band. They pander to depressed teenagers and foreigners while encouraging them to drink and smoke cigarette's. I'm not saying they should avoid those topics but all their social media is them glorifying smoking cigarette's and drinking during the day. That is why I find this movie and the band insulting cause they are taking themselves very seriously but are extremely naive. He wasn't joking about the offer to Shrelki, he genuinely thought that plan would work or he just made it up as a dramatic point to the documentary. Either way there is nothing funny or genuine about it, its someone desperately trying to get people to think they are interesting by lying to them or being overly confident with no self awareness. Their popularity has nothing to do with the music, if all you value about a band is them looking cool and partying then you must be mentally at the age of 16 and maybe shouldn't be lecturing people about art.
scampoli25 I simply value their songs for what they are, and can tell the difference between sincerity and joking. I didn't mention my own values for a band in detail. If you want a band that has great value, listen to Neutral Milk Hotel. I'm just saying that it's not justified to say that they're all aesthetic when they have experiences that caused the songs to be written. Like I said, the singer has talked about his past many times, and if he wants to poke fun and be 'edgy,' he shouldn't be shamed for it. Also, you can believe what you want to about his false offer to the guy about the medication, I'm just putting two and two together. It's like when somebody does something stupid and you say, "If you do this stupid and unreal task, I'll forgive you." Basically saying "screw you" to the guy.
I know how painful living is. Most of my life has felt that way. Nothing helps. Nothing really helps.
23:04 the most epic moment... i really feel for him..

"It's dark and it's sad" . . . .
and incredibly soothing and beautiful!

Sounds like if My Bloody Valentine and Failure had a bastard child from a one-night stand and left it out in front of an orphanage.
New fan here. Getting a ton of tattoos based on them.
Watching this again in 2018. I got the shirt that says IF YOU FEEL LIKE LETTING GO!
This band is brilliant. I fell in love with their music from the first time I heard it.

As someone who lives smack dab on the corner kensington and Lehigh... you're kinda selling the whole "dark city" gimmick, homie. I love Philly.

#2021
This is real.
Kinda looks like geoff from Thursday...
i vaguely remembered him from a my chemical romance documentary i used to watch all the time when i was 13, lol. i think they toured together or something.
It is
Geoff Rickly produced/engineered the first MCR album which is their best album. They had to beg him to do it when he was taking a break from touring.
Their lives shouldn’t ever be documented again.
???
What? Why?
@@Slamdango6 because they aren’t very bright.

Bullshit I met Domenic after a Paris show and he was one of the most genuine and amazingly nice person I've ever met.
