Nice video, My Dad grew up there. I lived there from 1993 till 2002, Went to Catawba College, My Grandmother lived there, too. Many good memories. Cheerwine goes great with BBQ. 🥰
Cheerwine is all I've talked about this week. Found where I can buy in town here and going to buy some this weekend to share with coworkers. Good grief....i've waited all week. 😂 Thanks for the video.
All the North Carolina vlogs are tugging at my heart. I visited the state every other year for many years until limitations now prevent me from traveling. My heart home. Thank you, Jordan, for taking me back...one more time.
Such a pleasure seeing Fuller Market in the video. I worked at the store in high school when it was Innes Street Drug as a soda jerk. Definitely love me some Nicks Hamburgers!
I would love to see Salisbury north Carolina where cheerwine soda was made and go to the rowan museum where the cheerwine soda memorabilia is on display good vlog jordan
I can't believe I've never heard of Cheerwine. Your shake looked great as did the food. Interesting to hear how they choose the name. Cool you went to RCR. Hats were killer. It's places like this that make us want to get out of Calif. Fun vlog. 🍒
Sharing a family favorite recipe. Homemade Cherrwine ice cream. 1 jar of 16 oz jar of Maraschino cherries blended. Put first into container. Add 1 two liter bottle of Cherrwine. Then add one can of sweetened condensed milk. Put the lid on, add the ice and salt to the ice cream maker. If you have made homemade ice cream, you know what comes next. Also next time you’re in Lexington NC, get a barbecue sandwich and a Cherrwine.
I enjoyed Dan Nicholas Park many times, when I lived in NC. It's near Salisbury. Salisbury is also mentioned in the book "Confederates in the Attic" by the late Tony Horwitz. It's a page-turner, especially for someone who loves American history.
I grew up in Salisbury, NC....my home for 36 years......thanks for visiting my hometown. Hope they gave you plenty of Southern hospitality and l hope you enjoyed the Cheerwine milkshake.
I've been a Cheerwino all my life. It's always explosive no matter how long it's been sitting. I wish I'd know you were here! They used Salisbury as Enochville in a school mate's Snapped episode which was odd. The closest they got was Cannon Farm Rd. There's a lady that filmed with the Stooges buried there too I believe. Super Awesome episode! I see today you're even closer in Kannapolis! 🤘😁
Great video. I've never had Cheerwine. I'll have to look for it. I don't know why I expected to see something on his gravestone about Cheerwine? Lol. That hot dog looks killer. I loved this video very much. Glad you are into Nascar. I love Nascar too. Been to a few races and all kinds of Jeff Gordon items. Thanks for this great video. You stay safe and take care.
Nice video, Jordan! I used to live in Salisbury years ago - they had a really great bbq place. And Cheerwine!! Ahhh - tastes like a cross between cherry Coke and Dr. Pepper and best if ice cold!!!
Also New Bern, NC is the birth place of Pepsi Cola. They also have a Museum for Pepsi just like Atlanta has for Coke. Like Carrie fisher I'm a Coke Fan always. I grew up some in NC being a Marine Corps Brat. I drank Cheerwine back then and loved it. You have to love cherry flavoring to like Cheerwine. Probably helped me become a Diabetic. Glad it comes in Zero sugar now.
Over the years many American 🇺🇸 products have made it to our shores, Cheerwine was not one of them. I will have to take your word for it, that the milk 🥛 shake was great. Thanks Jordan. ❤Jodie 🇦🇺
I was born in MD but my grandparents had a house in Eastern NC on the beach. I always remember being a kid and getting cheerwine ( because it wasn’t available in MD at that time ) the best soda out there. I found it here in MD and still drink it to this day. It brings me back to being down NC with my grandparents.
That was very interesting, thank you. I need to find a place to find that drink, maybe our local Cracker Barrel. Thanks for wearing your Twins hat on the road!
If you have any grandpa Joe's candy stores or any place that sells off brand sodas will likely have it.. the day after I filmed this, I had breakfast in a diner and all the waitresses asked if the customer wanted cheerwine.. almost like "would you like a glass of water." Most everyone said yes too
@@DazewithJordantheLion thanks for the reply Jordan. Also thanks for all the videos you've made that I've enjoyed over the years. I appreciate you, because watching the video it's like I'm traveling to the places you go. I'm not able to travel much, for personal reasons, so your videos are like a vacation for me. Sorry to ramble on too much, just to simply say I appreciate you and the videos you make. Take care and happy travels from a loyal fan, Red.
I finally got to taste Cheerwine in Colorado but the only place I could buy any was at Cracker Barrel in Metro Denver. Love the taste. Cherries are my favorite fruit.
The soda fountain and the old-fashioned main street reminded me of the scenery in the movie "Murphy's Romance," which was filmed in Arizona (I just googled it.) Jordan, would you go to Arizona and cover that movie someday? For that matter, perhaps you could take us to visit James Garner's grave? I confess I don't know where it is, though.
As a Salisbury resident, I think you missed out on another eating experience. When you were on N. Main Street, you should have gone into Haps for a burger and/or hotdog, all the way of course.
i seen that 50/50 store ,Iremember a soda in my youth named 50/50 , kinda like 7up /ginger ale never seen or heard cheerwine up here in IL. l id like to try now
I like to add a shot of Jack Daniel's to 12oz of Cheerwine. It's great. I can't find Cheerwine in Louisiana so when I travel to the Carolinas, I'll bring back cases.
i hope you enjoyed yourself in salisbury, nc i live here in salisbury so i recognize the locations in this video i've been to these areas, i'm from concord, nc but my neck of the woods is concord, kannapolis, china grove, landis, and salisbury i'd add mooresville to the list too. salisbury has a festival in may every year since 2017 when cheerwine celebrated the 100th birthday of the soft drink, the covid-19 pandemic caused it to be canceled for 2020 & 2021 but it made it's return the following year and this year's festival is saturday, may 18th. wait really peeler is buried in chestnut hill cemetery i live near it i didn't know he was buried there i've walked in the cemetery

This is awesome Jordan, i love to see these little towns /cities in USA 🇺🇸 ❤
Nice video, My Dad grew up there. I lived there from 1993 till 2002, Went to Catawba College, My Grandmother lived there, too. Many good memories. Cheerwine goes great with BBQ. 🥰
As a North Carolinian, this was special. We love our Cheerwine!

This is so awesome! Thank you so much for coming to Nicks and for such kind words. We are truly blown away by your review and so thankful!
My late brother enjoyed Cheerwine but my favorite is Sun Drop. I believe it was started in North Carolina as well.
Such a pleasure seeing Fuller Market in the video. I worked at the store in high school when it was Innes Street Drug as a soda jerk. Definitely love me some Nicks Hamburgers!

Excellent details! Thanks Jordan!!
Love family run companies, not enough of them left in America. My husband would have loved that hamburger 🍔Very cool hats, great vlog

I did. I've eaten at Lexington BBQ several times when I pass through
That was very interesting, thank you. I need to find a place to find that drink, maybe our local Cracker Barrel. Thanks for wearing your Twins hat on the road!
Seems like the small town burger joints are the best.
