Force of Habit is one of the most underrated thrash albums of all time imo. So many crunchy riffs, catchy hooks, memorable solos, and a punchy production job. In need of some serious reevaluation.

Don't lie.
The fact that Exodus didn’t make another album for 12 years in the aftermath of 1992’s more groove- and glammy-influenced Force Of Nature should give you some idea about how uninspired they were during the 1990s. The lack of pace, the strained “melodic” vocals, the very bad Rolling Stones cover… it’s not great. It’s a shame as well, given that opening song Thorn In My Side is at the very least intriguing and has a great Gary Holt solo midway through.
Trash Metal.
In their defence, they weren't the only ones to change things up and fail miserably.
Metallica, MegaDAVE, Anihilator, Slayer, etc all went through a weird phase trying to jump on the craze at the time.
Be it grunge, alternative, Nu-Metal, Industrial or even a mix of everything.
It's sad that they give up flying the Thrash flag, but, it's difficult to stay fresh and not do the same thing over and over. Especially with how big it got and how similar other bands sounded.
Very easy to trip up and sound similar to another band, who 100% would sue for it.

Riffing,Drumming,soloing and every other thing is perfect in Exodus.Heard lots of thrash metal bands and i have never heard such a great song writing and overall greatness.
Zet's voice was the best it ever was or will be on this album. Legendary.

One of the best Exodus song. Great main riff. Groove, simplicity with rhythmic roll & melodic(solo).
Loved this song when I was a kid. In 2024 now I relate more to the dad in the front seat lol

The precursor to Tempo of the Damned. Exodus has such a unique and gradually subtle sound evolution with each album's era.

Apparently this album was the worst-seller of Exodus's albums, it's too bad cuz I love this song. I guess I was just born too late because this came out when I was 14 and full of teenage angst, and angry at my parents for any reason LOL that phase didn't last long and then I realized my parents are actually great, but I still love the music \m/ \m/
I prefer this grungy version of Exodus compared to what they have done lately.

I have this CD and it says Marshall amps used. I have Marshall DSL 100W and equalizer and little tune and it sounds pretty same, Pantera used Randall transistor amps. But I can truly say that guitar sounds in this Album are fucking massive and agressive. its also how you play, it tightness and damping comes from players hand also.

Bands do that, use the same studio or drum kit etc. Not uncommon. Not sure if this is true but I read the snare on Master of Puppets was from Def Leppard drum kit.

nice album but to low in the mix and mids. needs a bit treble perhaps to cut through more, be sure to have an eq.
arjan snijder i think this era was the heavy thrash metal. In 1991, Metallica (black album) slowed down their songs and some bands followed for a short time. I think this is an example of trying to get a similar sound to the black album

He was the guitar player for Exodus since 1983 to 2005, he has been present in what I believe are the best Exodus albums and best Exodus era. Bonded by Blood, Pleasures of The Flesh, Fabulous Disaster, Impact Is Imminent, Force Of Habit and Tempo of The Damned, 6 amazing albums. Man, that's a lot! How many legendary albums have you made? If he wanted to leave the band, that's ok man, he already did so much. And about the drugs, yeah he was on drugs like many other bangers from back in the day, but he has been sober for many years now and he is one of the most humble and nicest human beens, always in touch with his fans, cero ego. Shame on you for being disrespectful to a metal legend.
@@bernardoantelo4763 First off I would never disrespect him, I think he's the best guitar player the band has ever had. And I didn't know he got sober, by the way I've seen Megadeth 12 times and Dave was absolutely wrecked some of them. When I met him I was in awe 'cause he was a truly angry person and I loved it. Too many of the great thrash bands of that era got swept aside by industry for pathetic yet more popular hair music.

This is the worst era of Exodus. Some good songs on here but most are cheesy or silly with a couple dumb covers. Exodus only get better with each album if you ask me!
