this is actually one of the first episodes of columbo i ever watched, i was utterly amused both by columbo and the whole wine angle: i had just started working in a high end wine store and learned more from columbo than I did at work, never mind being amuse that cheap wine was only 69 cents a gallon. i wish i had adequate words to describe the joy this brings me
That comment about mouthwash is a bit of a historical dig, since ancient Greek physician Hippocrates suggested a mouthwash of sour red wine and mixed spices to cure bad breath
Came to see what else you had made after watching Boop and saw a picture of Donald Pleasence with Liquid Filth written under it...I immediately subscribed. I'm a huge Columbo fan, love it so much and this is one of the best episodes for sure especially because of this performance. This is perfect! Love this! :D
Every time a new video drops I go into a Noiselund Colombo Spiral through the whole catalog and this is one of the best. Right behind the Bechamel sauce...🎵
Bechamel sauce is definitely my favorite columbocore track. It slaps, and since it came out I've watched all of Columbo and learned 3 of the classic French sauces, starting with... Bechamel. Edit: on any other channel people would think this is a joke but you can all relate and know it to be true.
God DANG I thought I'd already torn through your whole playlist and fell in love with everything already. Tonight I find THIS song and it's just so good! I love your "ear" for pulling so much auditory emotion from visual performances. I don't know how you do what you do but as an artist of another strain, a very very dark time in my life is made so much more bearable because I'm subscribed to your channel.
Well done! I especially like how you adjusted the pitches, so that even though they're saying the same thing, it ends on a different pitch to fit the music. Who would have guessed that Peter Falk and Donald Pleasence could be so good in music?
@@noiselund I am 36 years old and to society, far too young to be watching Columbo. I've been watching since 6-7 years old with my dad and they were even reruns then; with a smattering of newer ones later into the '90s and 2000s. They are always in a constant cycle on my TV, and I get made fun of by all my friends for watching such old television. They can all suck it though, because these are some of the greatest pieces of television ever recorded. Great actor, great character, and a lot of potential for learning to be aware of your surroundings and attention to detail. This young man comes rolling home every night to watch an episode, and when he is an old man he'll continue as well. Thanks again for keeping it relevant and fun. It's things like this that might persuade a new generation to look back in respect and learn just one more thing!
@@chrisedmonds6794 Great story! Thanks for sharing! It's about the same here, I'm 39 and my dad introduced me to Columbo as well. Been hooked on it ever since. I think people who are unfamiliar with Columbo are unfortunately very easily dismissive of it. It's kind of hard to explain, you probably need to watch some in order to experience the level of quality and the fascinating slow burning psychological nature of it. I dare anyone to not get hooked after that, regardless of age. Keep enjoying Columbo, it never gets old! And thanks for your kind words!
Slightly disappointed that "you really are a sly one lieutenant" was not included in this video, or Adrian's diatribe agaisnt his secretary in the car when she tries to blackmail him into loving her. Any port in a storm really is a goldmine of an episode
Absolutely, he chews every bit of scenery, is arrogant but in a way you don't hate because he just cares so much about his wine! He and Columbo having a moment at the end was just beyond
@@noiselund My favourite was definitely the recent Red Letter Media one. Me and my best friend were tapping window panes to try and emulate the sound! Keep up with your amazing talent!
@@filaraspirit It's hard isn't it? I think you need his powerful poking skills to replicate the same boopy sound :) And thank you kindly! I really appreciate it ❤
@@noiselund Peter Falk has stated that this episode is his personal favorite. He said that this was the first episode in which Columbo developed a sincere fondness for the murderer. Speaking of Columbo and the Donald Pleasence character, he said that "the two men shared something in common: an admiration for excellence." This was discussed in a 10-minute interview by Johnny Carson on "The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson (1962)" three days before the original broadcast of the episode, in which Falk praised the skills and performance of Pleasence. excellent taste, folks
69 cents a gallon They don't make wine 69 cents a gallon They don't make wine 69 cents a gallon They don't make wine 69 cents a gallon THEY MAKE LIQUID FILTH !
@@romon3989 Well to be honest I did not know what he was saying either so I watched the episode of Columbo season 3 episode 2 entitled "Any Old Port in a Storm" with the closed captioning on. A very good episode and hey this Noiselund sure puts together some good tunes. Die Hard - Get Together is my favorite.
So if this guy associates liquid filth with mouthwash, I kind of feel sorry for anybody close enough to smell his breath. No wonder he became a supervillain and got that white cat.
Columbo enjoying the simpler things in life while a wine elitist howls in rage about the quality of the wine his father's company is being sold to is peak content
Good to see Donald Pleasance working again.
Here we are, at the birth of Colombocore.
Omg… I didn’t realize until you said it. Praise Atom!
I'm so here for it!
Thank you for introducing this to my wife.
Came for the RLM, subscribed for the Columbo 👍
Completely understandable. Columbo is love, Columbo is life!
And thank you for subscribing, I really appreciate it.
Flawless
I'm so glad Colombo is becoming popular again
Was he ever not there, milling about at the edge of our collective consciousness, always stopping to ask one more thing.
He finally broke out from the bronze prison
@@teddys1359 One More Thing until the Columbo Dimension is unleashed
Same, suddenly Colombo was in my Twitter feed and RUclips suggested videos, if only the same thing could happen with The Rockford Files.
Oh well, that certainly explains it. I've bothered you enough for one night, I'll be on my way......one more thing though
I adore Columbo, omg these songs are marvelous 😂
Now I’ll have Donald Pleasence melodically yelling “LIQUID FILTH”!in my head for the rest of my life…
Finally we have another mix of this scene to go with the Ashens one from 15 years ago.
Those Halloween movies really got to him

This is the early part of the evening compared to Dr. Ashen's version which is the taxi at 4 am.

The wine steward and maitre d' lip smacking loops are everything.
It's Dr. Loomis of the Halloween movie series!
that first Marino brothers is a beat in itself.

Funny how different this is from the Ashens remix of this exact same Columbo scene
I was expecting a take on the Ashens video lol
This is by far the best thing I've seen in a very long time
It's ADDICTIVE to me! 💙🍾👏

I swear someone could make a better version of the “Vince McMahon escalating reactions” meme w Plesance’s faces when Falk is nailing the tasting.
These are amazing this is my favorite episode. I just discovered your stuff through the Johnny Cash “I Saw the Light” video. Hilarious Bravo!
