    Watching this interview, you can see that he really cares about the characters and the overall production of Columbo. Notice how thoughtful his comments are, and how sincere his praise is for fellow actor Donald Pleasence. He even seems annoyed when interrupted by whatever is happening in the background (which I don't blame him for). He is as invested in Columbo as a writer would be! The character is obviously not just a paycheck to him.
    Contrast this with most other interviews you see from actors on late night shows.

    Love Columbo .it came on while I was in college and I've seen it ever since .ironically any old port in a storm is still my favorite episode. Julie Harris had a pretty good role in this episode also

    • @keepitsimple4629
      @keepitsimple4629 4 года назад

      Eugene DeGeorge, did you notice Julie's hair changed so much, and inappropriately, in different parts of the episode? It would be mousy blond in one scene, and the very next one, it would be bright red. Then it would change again, back and forth. Like on the plane, it changed on the plane. I couldn't believe the editors didn't catch that.

    I watch all the Columbo episodes over and over again. Coincidentally, "Any Old Port in the Storm" is my favorite episode with " A Stitch in Time" my second. Every episode is a masterpiece. Also, to think that Donald Pleasance is the psychiatrist in "Halloween". I think he is in No.2 and No.3 but those 2 movies don't make sense because Jason dissappears in thin air at the very end in the first Halloween movie. Peter Falk and Donald Pleasance were great.

    Johnny was joking around about the raincoat and that reminded me of this: There was one episode in which Columbo got a new raincoat: Mrs. Columbo bought it for him and it was blue. He didn't like it, so he kept trying to lose it/leave it behind, but people always brought it back!
    I think the name of the episode was called, Now You See Him, with Jack Cassidy playing a magician. Bob Dishy was in it, too, playing a sergeant who was kind of a "sidekick" to Columbo in that episode.

    How many times in "Columbo" did that character, just as he turns to walk away from the perpetrator, do an abrupt about-face and quote that ever popular "oh, one more thing........."? If that was planned, the way he was about to exit the set here, to leave and turn around to pick up whatever that was on Carson's desk, it was a brilliant move! If it wasn't planned, well then Peter Falk truly WAS "Columbo"!!!
