I have a 65” Deluxe Reverb Reissue and a Vox AC-15c1 and run them both in stereo using my Strymon Volante. It’s got that magic. I use the Keeley Oxblood as my main overdrive. 🇺🇸

If you get a chance look up the Danelectro Daddy-O OD pedal' cheap but well built pedal' EQ lets you dial in OD/Distorted tones. Good with other pedals' outta the 7 OD pedals I own it's the best so far.... only draw back is it's size and it's kinda fugly looking.
      Works

First and foremost, great playing, and thank you for doing a tone comparison the right way. We hear exactly what comes out of those amps and NOT how crazy someone went with their ProTools.
As a Fender guy- I currently have a Vibro Champ- I have to say when you bypassed the pedal board and went straight into the amps, that Magnatone was sublime. I'm still Team Fender, but I'm going to closely look at Magnatone and see if there's something apartment friendly I might pick up. LOL
Great demo and, again, great pickin'! Thanks.🤘🏼

I owned the Magnatone Twilight and wound up selling it. It was very capable and the pitch shifting tremolo was cool but I found it to be very 'forward' and "in-your-face'. I have owned a Fender 64 Deluxe Reverb Custom Hardwired for several years now and simply put, it is "musical". It has a way of sounding dimensional where the sound it not as focused or punchy as the Twilighter. Great demo sir. I too admire your skills, chops and talent.

I’ve owned most all vintage 60s Blackface Fenders, just for reference. I’ll take that Magatone over the new handwired Deluxe hands down, thick body tone, more organic more natural, got punch, rounded highs. The Fender sounds thin with brittle highs, no girth.

Very nice video Derrick. Came looking for the Magnatone and pleased to see the comparison with the HW '64 (which I already have). Hmmmm, both sound excellent with your chops. I'm sure I could make them sound somewhat mediocre. Love the look on both. Somehow Fender seemed to capture my idea of cabinet height to width ratio with their amps. It just looks correct and balanced. Maybe that's because those are the amps I've seen most. The Magnatone is no slouch in the looks department though. I have to give a shout out to PhilX for making many of us aware of the brand. I'm not sure I'd know about Magnatone if I hadn't seen his videos. Anyhoo, again nice playing. I liked and subscribed. Hope to keep enjoying your content in the future.

Nice playing, Derrick! To these ears, if you graphed the frequency response of these two amps, the Fender graph would be shaped like a “u” (scooped mids) and the Magnatone like an “n” (prominent mids). If you ever want to “upgrade” I’d avoid the fender handwired deluxe. $3199 is for the handwired and pine cabinet but they cheap out on components and use quick connect wires instead of accurately soldering them. They also added reverb to both channels making it have this constant hum even at low volumes. Your normal deluxe sounds more or less the same, it’s just the speaker. The handwired deluxe also breaks up a lot quicker. Go to a boutique Brand if you ever decide to upgrade that doesn’t cheap out.
