I love Bakers Seeds also. My hubs and kiddos got me a seeds for my birthday. A variety of seeds...carrots, squash, watermelon, beets and many more. Happy gardening.
I never had a problem sprouting carrots, and it doesn't matter how it's sown, although i often will do a 24 hour warm water soak (like in a shot glass sized container) and it sprouts within a few days. Parsnips, on the other hand, i can't get to sprout. And I've tried both methods.
my late carrots sprouted in four days, never had that happen before. They were my own seeds, I picked them and planted them. I broadcasted them, lightly ranked the ground, broadcasted a light layer of straw (straw kept the soil from getting disturbed when watered them in good. Covered with cardboard and watered the cardboard in. wet the cardboard almost every day.
@@TheAdhdGardener that sounded like a lot of work but it wasn't / i didnt know if the carrots would sprout up through the light layer of straw, so was a experiment that worked. I had lots more seed n time if it didnt work. I wont thin them, after they develop true leaves i dust them with wood ash and water in. 3 left over carrot plants gave me a abundance of seed that will be good for 4 to 6 years i am told. You and your Dads garden rock/ my space in very small and i am limited to only so much sunlight. I fell in love with my garden this year/ thank you Mother nature.
Can you give me some tips on how to pollinate a pumpkin plant because it keeps give pumpkins but I'm trying to pollinate them but I not sure if I do it wrong please help me please 🥺
If you look at the inside of the pumpkin flowers, they look different. Think of human anatomy. The male flower looks different than the female one. You find a male flower, take that to the other flower that looks different and pollinate it by rubbing the 2 inside flower parts together. N bam! Pollination😁
