      Thank you Bobby! I have been so busy at work that there been little time to make videos. Going to have more time coming up soon! I sat down and finally getting caught up on some of my favorite RUclipsr’s that I follow. I enjoyed several of you videos last night, especially the scooter rebuild! Thanks for watching!

      are you saying you have batteries that have lasted 20 years on a solar system?? I've yet to have ANY Batteries last 10 Years, before degrating bad enough that they need replacing soon after.. what brand are you using? cost etc?? maybe I don't spend enough on batteries? LOL

      @@compubyte2010 My Cells came from a 2012 Chevy Volt. Had them running 5 years maybe 6 and still getting about 98% of there rated capacity. Those cells he just put in if taken care of will last 20 years. Heck my cells in my golf cart are 10 years old from a city bus and still getting 98 or more of there rated capacity..
      Heck I had a set of Trojan t-105 golf cart batteries. Run in my off-grid cabin. That I lived in full time. They lasted 5 years then my dad ran them in is golf cart for 2 LOL.. That still socks me those lasted that long.

      @@compubyte2010 The new batteries (brand, AH, etc) were listed both in the video and description. I don't list costs because these numbers change and it is easy enough to click on the link to figure that out. The number of years you can get out of a battery (especially LiFePO4) is all dependent on how you initially use the battery especially in consideration of cycle count, depth of discharge, operating temps, etc. Those previous BYD batteries were pretty abused, probably out of a bus or solar farm. Getting 20+ years out of LiFePO4 will most likely be irrelevant based on the sole fact that technology will drive better batteries and the desire for new upgrades and purchases. Thanks for watching.

      @@GreenMountainDIYGuy I strongly feel either the technology for batteries needs to change, or the price of batteries will skyrocket.

    Looking great man! To bad everyone (including you) that got those packs didnt get much life out of them. Glad you got your cells back after stolen. What a time that must have been. Happy Holidays!!

      Thank you sir!! Yes, glad I have the new cells including getting that back undamaged from the thief. If is unfortunate about the BYD’s but the education I received by working with them was very valuable. Looking forward to adding more cells. Wish you the best for the upcoming holiday season!

    Wow, 10K subs! It is so nice when you build something proper in the first place, like your battery bay, and you can just remove the old batt system and slide in a new, and be good to go. Nice exploding trangle graphics intro, too. Spock-LOL. Request: a pool update video when it is below zero for practical discussion of how the not emptying the pool goes, since you have a couple winters under your belt. Happy Thanksgiving.

      Yah Brother! Living the YT dream here! Thank goodness for the Massey to help remove the BYD batteries!! Glad you like the new intro too! Regarding the pool, it is like a big ice cube out there with it freezes over. Amazing that the while pool stays standing but it does! Hope all is well in MT!

      @@GreenMountainDIYGuy It was summer one week and the next it got cold and snowed and has not warmed up since. Tonight -1F. I am amazed the pool liner survives the sub-zero freezes. I just did mod to a HFT spot welder, adding a trigger timer with 1/100 second resolution.

    That is one helluva set up! The edits in this video are great...Spock! Many don't understand how much time it takes to 1) do DIY projects 2) make quality videos showing others. Impressive work!

    curious as to how OLD those batteries are that are dying now?

    • @GreenMountainDIYGuy
      @GreenMountainDIYGuy  Год назад

      I got them in 2019. I think label said 2016 or 2015, them were heavily used before I put them in service.

      @@GreenMountainDIYGuy Understood they were used heavily .. but that's kinda my point. batteries don't seem to last more than 10 years (give or take a year ) . least not that I've ever found/used.. and I'm pushing 60 and it's been my goal to find that ultimate battery. or create one LOL .. But great setup.. I've been thinking of buying some of those 3.2V batteries? will have to watch and see how they do ! course yours were "A" batteries. they should do excellent!
