Israel, a student at my sons recital played it and while I admittedly didn't recognize the composers name, when she hit the first two notes, I immediately remembered my Mom playing this as a warm up piece when she played. She just passed this year and left behind an incredible music and piano legacy with me, my brother, our children and many other students she had over 30 years of teaching. I love this piece. The only one (other than you tube today) who I’ve ever heard play this is my mom. I always thought it was a Filipino thing, as I grew up listening to it in the Philippines in the 1960s and never heard it anywhere else. My mom is now 87 and can’t play it anymore, so she will be thrilled when she sees this and listens to it. Thank you for sharing!!
